The attitude of the staff varied from person to person, the man on duty when we first arrived was extremely helpful while the rest treated us like we were wasting their time. The rooms were small but the space was adequate however the beds were very uncomfortable & the walls thin. It was possible to hear everything that was happening in the room next to mine. The buffet breakfast was limited & the dining room cramped so I was very aware of other guests trying to get around tables. I would think... Read more

We are a family of 3 and stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during the Easter break when visiting Rome. The station is 5 mins walk from Roma Termini station when taking the side entrance/exit to Via Marsala. The staff at the reception and breakfast room were friendly and helpful. The rooms are decent size(not big) with tall ceilings and the free Continental breakfast served was good. The dining area may feel a bit cramped but getting there early would help. There is a convenience store next door... Read more

It was my first time in Rome and I really enjoyed my stay at the Windrose. It was exactly as advertised. The hotel common spaces are excellent and the room itself was spacious. There was free wifi, a tv, a fridge, and a safe. As far as the location, in my case it worked really well. Termini station is the transportation hub for Rome; you can get the rail, bus, and taxis all from this location and the hotel is five minutes away from the front door of Termini. While i wouldn't say this is central... Read more

The hotel was cosy and nice. It is situated next to Termini station, and Piazza della Republica. All the sight are in a walk distace. The breakfast was the same each day, which was a little boring. The room was cleaned daily. Just one minus: the bath cabine wasn't operating normally. The water was either cold or extremely hot, so it was impossible to take bath. To sum up, I would reccomend the hotel. Also there is a typical italian restaurant La Famiglia, in front of the hotel.

The hotel is in a good location - close to the main station and a couple metro lines. The area it is located in is ok - a few quaint little restaurants but nothing great to speak of, we didnt really hang out around the hotel. The hotel its self is old, needs some updating/new bedding, etc. But for a couple nights, its a good bang for the buck. Staff was helpful when needed. The wifi signal was super great in our room, it worked intermittently.

Hard to judge when you've just returned from Paris, France with a formal room, elegant bath etc. our room was very small and the bathroom was likewise small - particularly the shower. Breakfast was just okay. Cappuccinos were excellent. Concierge was helpful. Best thing was the central location to the Metro. Also, recommendation to visit the restaurant next door after a long day of travel was welcomed. The Familigia Restaurant across the street was very good and value priced.

This hotel is in a great location, just blocks from the Termini Station, where you can take the metro to all of the attractions of Rome. The hotel is very clean and although the rooms are small, they are in excellent condition. We were on the breakfast plan, and it was adequate, but nothing very special- a small variety of meats and cheeses and breakfast pastries. This is a nice hotel to use as a base as you explore the sights of Rome!

My husband i stayed here for 3 nights. The room was a bit small with a tiny shower. However, the room was clean. The best feature of the hotel is the great customer service. Specifically, we got great recommendations from Livia. She had excellent advice on all major attractions and so hidden ones. I recommend this hotel if you are looking to visit everything and need a comfortable place to stay.

We stayed at this hotel last week, very clean and tidy staff very friendly and helpful, the room was very small and the bathroom was even smaller, the breakfast was continental good selection and plenty to eat, the hotel is very central a 1o minute walk to the centre of Rome, the Vatican trip is a must, leave four hours for the walk around and make sure you bring water to drink, hope you enjoy

I've been to Europe several times and, rooms in general, are fairly small compared to American hotels, especially in high tourist areas. Having known that, I was not surprised about the size of the Quadruple room when we entered it thus I'm not going to negatively affect my review. I went to Rome with my wife and 2 teenage daughters and we knew we were not going to spend much time in the rooms but to sleep anyway. The hotel was in a great location with awesome restaurant choices right outside... Read more

Rome was the last leg of our trip, after visiting Paris and Florence and experiencing cute boutique style hotels it was nice to have a larger hotel for this last part of our trip. Livia who was manning the front desk was amazing, she hooked us up for a tour of the Vatican, gave us a great recommendation for a local beach called Ladispoli Beach with Black sand it was beautiful and just a 30 minute train ride from Roma Termini station which was a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Windrose is just a few minutes walk from Via Nazionale, Termini station, and several bus tour stops. The location is close enough to the bug attracions of Rome, but far enough away from the noise. Rooms are functional, most of the staff are serviceable if indifferent except one lady at the front who is super helpful /friendly and knows Rome very well, and breakfast has some variation.

The Windrose has the advantage of being close to Termini, the main station. In addition, it provides easy access (down hill) to the centre of Rome and is within easy walking distance to several good restaurants. We found the staff friendly and helpful, and our room was comfortable, although a little cramped. It provided very little space for unpacking one's clothes into, and had limited surfaces which could provide "dressing table" space. A shelf or cabinet in the bathroom would be a help. We ... We weren't looking for anything fancy when we booked this. Just wanted something central and close to the train station (a 5 min walk). From this hotel we also walked to the various attractions nearby. The rooms were quite small, but the breakfasts were decent.

I had 2 nights at the Windrow. It was a quiet place to stay. Breakfast was simple with plenty of food. The room and bathroom were small however that's to be expected in Rome. Air conditioning worked well and I always enjoy the luxury of having a window which opens for fresh air. Restaurants across the street. Markets close by. Would recommend the Windrose as a place to stay.

The Windrose was a good little hotel to stay in while in Rome. I would say 3 stars is right. It's not fancy, but it's no Motel 6. It is really close to Termini Station which offers quick and easy access by bus or metro to anywhere in Rome. Livia at the front desk was great. She was VERY helpful with everything we needed and was a great concierge. The size of the room wasn't a problem for us since we weren't spending much time there. You're in Rome...go see stuff. Breakfast was included whi... Read more

We were there for 3 nights and it was a great location to get to everything. The room was a little small for three people but we were not in our room much anyhow. I had read a review that the shower was the size of a phone booth, and that was very accurate. Room was clean and the breakfast was okay.
