We stayed at Splendide last week. It was absolutely lovely. The concierge upgraded our room to a suite that was huge and had a private outdoor terrace overlooking the old city wall of Rome. The bed was very comfortable and the washroom was the largest one we saw on our entire trip of Italy. We were even greeted with a welcome box of chocolates waiting for us in the room. The service and rooms at this hotel are superb. And of course, there is Mirabelle restaurant on the roof-top terrace (see ... Read more

My family and I recently stayed there for four nights to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. We booked five rooms of different categories. I was tempted to book Hotel De Russie or the Hassler but decided to try the Splendide. We had a fantastic time, the rooms were in good shape, the room service was excellent and perhaps the best part is how attentive and professional the staff was, everyone without exception. They know your name from the moment you arrive and are eager to go the extra mile to ac... Read more

It was our second stay at Splendide Royal in Rome. we stayed in May, after 4 days in Venice and a 12 day cruise through the Greek islands and Italy. When we checked in, we were ugraded to a suite on the 6th floor (604) with a great balcony that overlooked gardens and we could see St. Peter's Basilica, which was beautiful lit up at night. Our room was beautiful, very spacious, and they also sent us a lovely fruit basket and a bottle of Prosecco, which was so nice and it was our 25th wedding an... Read more

Marvellous excessively equipped rooms, very good breakfast, centrally situated. Many places of interest are accessible on foot. In restaurant belonging to hotel one enjoys a healthy and affectionate cuisine and has, besides, an incomparably nice look at Rome.

The view from our balcony of the Vatican and the Borghese Gardens was delightful! We only stayed for two nights following a Regent Seven Seas Cruise but we wished it could have been longer. The location and breakfast were outstanding and the Mirabelle Restaurant luxurious. A wonderful hotel!

I had wanted to book the Eden, where my husband and I stayed last June, but it is closed for renovation. I traveled with my two adult kids and this was their first visit to Rome. When our travel agent suggested this property I was happy to see its location is close to the Spanish Steps (just steps away!) and that the views are as breathtaking -- the Villa Borghese and Vatican/St. Peter's Basilica. I'm so glad we stayed here. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Staff here is so very f... Read more

We had the best introduction to this hotel and it made such a good impression. As soon as we stepped out of the taxi, the doorman offered to take our bags with such a big, real smile, we felt genuinely welcome. And then the man on reception was just as happy and friendly, taking his time to explain things on the map and also show us our room. The room itself was the most spacious we'd stayed in on our whole trip, and it felt great to have all that room to move about. We had mentioned on book... Read more

Very lovely property In a quiet area. Located near the Borghese Gardens, about a 10-15 minute walk from the Spanish Steps. A little less hustle and bustle here but several nice restaurants within walking distance. We were with a tour and had an ok room at the beginning of the trip, but a bigger room, with a bigger bed for our last leg of the trip.(tour started here and ended here so we had 2 different rooms) Very accommodating staff made restaurant suggestions and reservations for us as well as ... The hotel was situated across from the Borghese Gardens. So one felt out of the hustle bustle. The decor was over the top and very Baroque. It had the feel of a 5 star hotel with little extras in the room. The breakfast was excellent and the service outstanding. The view from the breakfast room was over the garden. There were some nice restaurants in the vicinity and amenities.

Had a conference and the organizing group selected this hotel. Very near the villa Borghese with the Bernini sculptures. Rooms, staff, breakfast all first class but at $700/night quite an expensive hotel. Part of that charge was for an extra bed in the room - $200. We switched hotels for 2 nights and stayed at Cesar's House near the Royal Forum and saved over $400/night and the room was larger and very clean. Breakfast was superb at the SR and poor at CH.expensive breakfast therefore.

The room was on the smaller side, but that's to be expected in Europe. It was very beautiful, however. The door was such a rich wood, unlike typical hotel rooms. The lobby areas were clean and welcoming - they made you feel fancy just for sitting down. Service was great too.The location was great - you can walk to just about anything you need to and it's close to the Spanish steps.

From the minute you arrive to the time you leave your every need is met. We were greeted by a very friendly and professional doorman, then front desk staff and led to a beautiful room. The hotel is richly decorated and meticulously kept. The location is perfect for exploring the city and the breakfast is one of the finest I've ever seen. This was our second visit and we will definitely stay there again when visiting Rome!

I couldn't figure out what to write because this stay began well - great people, welcoming and warm; great hotel - big room and toilet & shower; breakfast area and buffet was fantastic; and Restaurant Mirabelle was topnotch. But after we left, my wife and I were missing cash, most of which was kept in the safe. We only discovered it hours after we left since one never usually checks money kept in the safe believing it is 'safe'. We further believe someone broke into the safe because on our th... Read more

We had a very nice sized suite with a large, comfortable true King-sized bed and our daughter had a separate room with a twin sized bed for her. Unfortunately, our room looked into an inner courtyard. The room was clean, and bathroom had ample size, yet the shower was tiny! The shampoo and conditioner was awful, so bring your own. The neighbors were very loud one night at 0100, and I advised the front desk the next morning, and we never heard any more noise. The breakfast had plenty to choo... Read more

We were very happy with the Splendide Royale for our 3 night stay in July 2016. The location is very convenient to the major tourist attractions in Rome, nearly all are walkable in under 30 minutes. This hotel is very well located and offers a service level well above average. Each guest representative is well trained and offer concierge level service. We did a big research on hotels in Rome before going. There is much choice but often you read reviews about bad service and bad attitude. This one was recommended by a friend that travels to Rome often and it was a great choice. It's located up on the hill above Spanish steps, so it's approx 10 min walk down hill to get to down town and 10 min to Galeria Borghese in the park accross the street. It's a bit cooler here in hot summer day and night. It also offers an access to their sister hotel in ... Read more
