This is a small hotel on a side street about 3 blocks from the Via Veneto. Its primary virtues are price, location, a friendly and extremely helpful staff, and a good breakfast in a 7th floor room with a great view. Our room was a little larger than an ocean view cabin on a cruise ship, furnished with a desk, chair, wardrobe, and very comfortable queen bed. The furnishing looked somewhat ‚??tired,‚?? but the room and bathroom were spotless (and my wife checks such things scrupulously!). The hote... Read more

Location-wise, this hotel is in a great place, near the Spanish Steps, Borghese Palace & Gardens and the Via Veneto. We felt very safe walking around at nite. We stayed twice, at both the beginning and at the end of our cruise. Our rooms were spacious, although the hotel decor is very overbearing: the room was dark, the furniture was heavy and in a very old style, too much gold and dark colors. BUT the room was very spacious. We had zero view both times, and once our view was a wall. Bathro... Read more

First of all I must say the that decoration of the hotel is romantic and gets you straight away to the Roman athmosphere of Italy. It really is romantic but definitely not modern. We booked our staying with voaygesprivé so I believe we paid a lot less that people use to pay. For what we paid I was happy but I would have never paid a full price for this hotel. The room "deluxe" was nice with a bathtube but it wasn't big. It was cleaned well everyday, nothing to complain about that. But, the be... Read more

Stayed here for 4 nights. Lovely decor, nice sized bathroom, ours was at the front of the hotel so had a good view. The breakfast room had lovely views over the city. I know some people complained about breakfast but there was plenty to choose from. Lots of choices of juice, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses, eggs, bacon, at least 4 different breads to choose from, croissants and pastries. Teas were Twinings brand and a good choice was on offer. My only complaint is that the coffee and hot wat... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during a city break to Rome. It is clean and in a good position for sightseeing. Basic room (some facilities not working e.g jacuzzi bath which would have been lovely at the end of a day full of walking!) but good base. Staff were helpful. Breakfast ok but needs more variety!

Good location for walks into the city and tourist sites. Nice décor and room sizes. Unfortunately when we saw the brochure it stated that the rooms had tea/coffee making facilities, hair driers etc. which was ideal as my wife likes a cup of tea as and when, particularly in the mornings. On arrival first thing we wanted was a cup of brew, but we could not find the facilities. For the price--this hotel was charming and more than adequate. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. It's the Roman version of 3.5.5. We had seen reviews that called it "old". Well, of course. It's Rome, and we never want "new" in Italy. What would be the fun in that? The best part? It's in a great location. No, not by either airport or some of the "tourist" places. It's in real Rome-near some of the best restaurants, shoppes and clubs. We loved walking from our room to the ... Read more

We arrived at the hotel at around midday and our room wasn't ready so we left the bags etc and headed out as we had a tour booked. This is the only hotel that really paid off for an upgrade. We had the only room with the outdoor bathroom right by the hotel sign. What a way to start the holiday than with a glass of Prosecco on your balcony basking in the Italian warmth. The service was lovely and the room was very spacious. It's obviously kitsch, which we were prepared for, so thoroughly enjoyed the place in all its gilded, over-the-top glory. Charming. I can truly say that I have never had a hotel room decorated in such a way that I felt inspired like at this hotel. Chantilier lighting, a statue, Roman painted walls, we felt like we were staying somewhere other than a hotel. The Bathtub was great -- twelve jets, lit up, and wonderful to come back to after long days of walking around. Did not like the food at breakfast at all, although pretty setting with a great view, the food was made to look enticing but it didn't taste good at a... Read more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, 2-4 September, our first visit to Rome. The staff were lovely, helpful, informative and friendly. Our room was small but charming, air conditioning was much appreciated as it was particularly warm, with a safe and mini bar. The bathroom had a bath with overhead shower, The hotel is an excellent location, comfortable walking distance to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, the Metro station is also close by and takes literally 5 minutes to St Pet... The stay was very comfortable and relaxing. Room clean and tidy on arrival and throughout our 3 nights stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Like the d√©cor. Breakfast was very good - on the 7th floor with great views across the city. The chef makes a very good omelette on request for ‚?¨5. Great location for getting around. Most of the sites are in walking distance, if not metro and bus service is very close by. I would use this hotel again. Definitely recommended.

Charmingly decorated. Nice rooftop dining room. Breakfast average. Air conditioning in room terrific. Friendly accommodating staff. Great location. Good local restaurants recommended by front desk. On the downside room was quite small. No space for luggage. Lacking essential amenities such as wash cloths, tissues, soap dish in shower. No space around sink for toiletries. Good place for one or two nights but not longer as I felt I had to live out of my suitcase.

Just got back from a 5 day away trip to this beautiful city. The hotel was very good, We checked in to hotel and were taken to our room. which was a good size, it was clean, a bit tired in places but nothing to put you off saying there. Great air con, which believe me was most welcome after touring the sites in very hot temperatures. Make sure you get it to work first thing. Our 11 day "tour" of Italy started in Rome and the Hotel Romanico Palace. Helpful and friendly staff, nice rooftop breakfast and dining. Had some of the best lasagna there! The rooms were large by European standards but electricity in the room was sketchy at times- flickering, etc. However, it could be we had multiple electronic devices plugged in! :) Overall, I very much like this hotel and would stay there again. Convenient location but off the beaten path.

Very baroque great location, good sized room with a view. Amazing shower and ice cold drinking water. A little old fashioned but as a tourist out enjoying Rome ideal all attractions within 15 mins walk. Underwhelmed buy the reception and bar area and could have been staffed and enticing a nightcap we had to use a close by hotel for that. The restaurant on the 7th floor did have live music and may have been where the guests went to later for a nightcap?? But no one informed us.

Brilliant hotel our de-luxe room was beautiful. Service was excellent and breakfast, overlooking the rooftops of Rome, was plentiful and varied. Location was good for visiting the sights of Rome and plenty of restaurants in the area, I would particularly recommend Brancaleone in Via Sicilia for a genuine Italian experience.

We stayed in this hotel for four nights for the first part of our holiday. I liked the location for it's proximity to sights and restaurants, while being far enough away from the major tourist areas. We walked mostly but there are bus stops on the street, and a subway stop less than a 10 minute walk. Our room faced the street and you could hear cars and motorbikes, but we are used to city sounds - some of the other guests complained of the noise, but ear plugs would do the trick! Stayed here for 2 nights. The room was baroque style. We had a great view from our room. Unfortunately, the television did not work properly after reporting to the reception on both nights. Needs a bit of a revamp. Our bedroom cupboards could not open. The breakfast was really mediocre for a so called four star hotel. It had rained the morning and the terrace was leaking where we had breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. Bus stop from hotel to Roma Termini around the corner about 200m.

Firstly the staff were always very friendly and helpful so that was really nice. The hotel is located out of the way from the main tourist sites, you have to do a lot of Walking in Rome and being out the way adds to that so if you can't or don't enjoy it then I would stay closer to attractions. For us it was nice though and there is a bus stop close by and the subway is just down the road. We got upgraded to a suite which was a nice surprise, I did think why and that soon came to light around... Read more

The location is great, near Termini station, just 3 blocks off Via Veneto, and an easy walk to the top of the Spanish Steps. The staff here is personable and will go out of their way to do whatever you need. All that is offset by this being an older property which has not been maintained to the fullest extent. The interiors walk a fine line between historical kitsch and outright gaudy. The bed was comfortable, but bed linens and bath towels were a bit threadbare. The settee was upholstered ... Read more

A modest, old hotel which main attractions are the sunny roof terrace restaurant and breakfast room, and the large amounts of furniture antiques dressing all the rooms and hallways. A little bit off the main track, but you walk to the centre in 10 mins and a taxi takes 4. Placed right next to the US Embassy. Staff is very friendly, in a way that you really believe them. They work hard to please you. The food is nothing to write home about, but breakfast is included in room price and is OK. Room... Read more

This is apparently a 200 year old building and it felt like it. Long dreary hallways leading to the rooms. The room itself was a good size with a large bathroom considering the reputation of European bathrooms being small. Weirdly, absolutely no dresser or drawers to unpack in. Breakfast offered everything possible and beside cold runny scrambled eggs everything was fresh and well presented. This hotel was wi... Read more

We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary, staying for 3 nights. A lovely hotel - our room was super - it felt very grand and palatial. Very comfortable bed. We loved the historical feel of this hotel. A nice touch was the floral rose arrangement and card wishing us a happy anniversary from the hotel staff in our room on arrival. Breakfast was good, in the 7th floor restaurant, continental style as expected. Good location and fairly easy to walk to all sites.

Hotel Romanico Palace is in a great position to explore Rome. Fifteen minute walk from the Spanish Steeps. Had a standard room which at first did not look too good but then looking round it was very tidy clean and well designed. Well pleased with the reception we got at the hotel. The view from the breakfast room at the very top of the hotel over looking the city was great and the breakfast as good as it gets. Would use again and would recommend it.

Four of us stayed here in October as part of a tour and it is hard to reconcile our accommodations with some of the other reviews. Good location for Spanish Steps and Pantheon; desk staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room was small, very worn (including wall paper) and bore little resemblance to picture on web site, but clean. Beds: one with worn out mattress and one comfortable. Some street noise. Breakfast was least interesting of 2 weeks in Italy.
