The hotel Quirinale is a good base for a stay in Rome, located a 15 minute walk from the Trevi fountain and located near to a metro stop and the central station. We found the staff to be friendly, courteous and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We were traveling with our one year old son and all the staff stopped to talk to him at every opportunity, much to his delight. The room was a bit tired, although clean and well maintained, hence the four star review.

Right in the thick of things, close to all you need to see Rome and explore. Step inside the front doors and you are catapulted into another world with antique furniture and beautiful paintings and decor. We booked a triple room that was enormous, separate bedroom for one of the twin beds, and a jack/Jill bathroom that was also huge. We booked ahead online without any special requests so were more than pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. Breakfast is large but I was not thrilled with the... Read more

We have just spent 9 days in this hotel. The staff are unfriendly apart from a couple of them. The standard room we had was very disappointing with a TV sitting on top of a fridge and the only English Channel we could watch was the news. The room also shook, not sure what caused it but not a great experience. If your room had a bath not a shower then, bad luck, as the toilet is so tight to the bath you couldn't sit down, oops! The room was kept clean. Breakfast was poor and the breakfast room i... Read more

I was traveling with my two college age children -- a boy and girl. I reserved a family room at Hotel Quirinale as two rooms anywhere decent is very expensive. The family room was perfect for us. It was actually two rooms and both were spacious. The room I shared with my daughter had a King and a Twin bed in it and lots of room to walk around. My son was in a real Twin bed in the adjoining, large living room. There was a door in between the rooms and both looked out over a lovely, quiet co... Read more

Great location near the city center, a heritage structure, supposedly the first hotel built in Rome after it became the country's capital. Quick check in, comfortable rooms, free wifi, and a fairly extensive breakfast spread. My only grouse, they don't provide free water (after the first day - costs just a euro for a bottle).

Myself and my wife stayed in Quirinale from May 29th to June 2nd. It is a really good hotel, very well located, next to a subway (Piazza dell a Republica) and a walk distance from the Coliseum and The Trevi Fountain for example. It is an old Hotel with old furniture and structure, in one hand it is good because make you feel closer to the Medieval Age, however the floor is too noisy and the bathroom is not too comfortable. I'll guess this handsome city hotel is as old as the bustling Via Nazionale on which it sits. In the first flush of Italy's unification, in the late-19th century, the Via Nazionale was barged through the ancient city to give it a new broadway ‚?? and a straight shot between the train station and the Piazza Venezia. The hotel itself is a grand and un-renovated (yes!) relic: big public rooms and hallways, gracious staircases, old cage elevators that still work, an elegant courtyard, high ceilings,... Read more

Hotel Quirinale is a large hotel near the main train station in Rome and offers respite to the weary traveller. The tone of the hotel is set by the wear on the entrance door and also the worn carpets around the reception area, but these impressions do not paint the full picture as the rooms are large, well furnished, clean and soundproof, and is a welcome change from the many corporate style hotels offering the same boring product. Hotels very close to main city railway stations are sometimes best avoided. This is not the case with the Quirinale. It is a splendid 19th century edifice, with grand lounges, smaller sitting rooms, and what seem like miles of corridors on the upper floors. There is even fine old metal cage elevator (although most people take the modern ones). A particular bonus was being able to eat in the large, shaded garden, surrounded by trees and "ancient" statues. I was upgraded to a lovely room on the 5t... Read more

Only glitch was when we checked very late at night to find our room was a single King instead of the 2 twins we had requested. They fixed the bed situation and all was well after that. I liked the location of this motel near the terminal station and not far from the Trevi fountain. The decor is elegant but a little dated and could do with a revamp to restore it to former glory. Situated next to the Piazza della Republica within spitting distance of the main railway station (with direct trains to the airport) this is an ideal hotel in the centre of Rome. Excellent value for money, with well-equipped and spacious rooms, a copious buffet breakfast, and amiable and professional staff. The high point has to be the magic garden, a verdant courtyard restaurant where you can enjoy reasonably priced Roman cuisine or simply linger over a drink or seven. Highly recommended

The room we received had a very very small shower and immobile shower head, we went downstairs and asked for a room with bathtub/shower combo and the receptionist was very accommodating and switched our rooms the next morning. The new room had a rain shower and a hand shower + bathtub. The room and bathroom was of decent size however there is no counter space. The complimentary breakfast hot + cold had many options and was tasty. Hotel is on a busy street with lots of shopping. great location... Read more

I could not really fault this hotel for the price - c. 100 euros per night for a double room. It is a traditionally elegant Roman style hotel with fairly large and well furnished standard rooms. It's in a good location and all the main sights in the historic centre of Rome are within reasonable walking distance.

We booked a small double room - Small is the operative word but I think most rome rooms tend to be quite small. The first thing we notice on entering the room was the intense heat - it hit you the moment you walked in. The room opened onto a tiny space outside - so there was no air able to get into the room. We were told the AC was centralised and therefore could not be turned on, neither was a fan available to us but we were offered a change of room. The next room was much better as the window... We had a great stay at hotel Quirinale! I didn't know but my boyfriend contacted the hotel to organise a proposal and Diana and her team did an amazing job. Check in staff were efficient and polite, our room (533) was exceptionally clean, comfortable with quite a large bathroom. Breakfast was served in the restaurant area with a lot of choice, we never went hungry. Location is fantastic few mins walk to 'Repubblica' metro station that serves the red line which gets you to most places within a ... Read more

A spacious and comfortable double room for a very reasonable price in a grand, old hotel. Location is perfect (less than 10 minutes' walk from Stazione Termini). Streets nearby can be rather busy, but rooms on the back are reasonably quiet.

We stayed for two nights, the hotel is in a great location, everything is accessible from here with good links to all the transport. The room was big and clean enough but I'm only giving three stars, firstly because of the staff, they simply lack any kind of customer service skills, they are very abrupt to the edge of pure rudeness, thank you, please, or good morning seems to be something they don't think is important. I asked if I could have some extra milk to be told by reception "No! Housek... Read more

My daughter and I recently stayed at this hotel and we were very pleased. The double room albeit was small served our purpose and was comfortable. I can't stress enough how convenient this hotel is! We were a 10 minute walk to Termini and a 15 walk to the Trevi Fountain not to mention everything that we needed was within footsteps of our hotel. The big bonuses were FREE WIFI and free breakfast. I can't recommend enough........ I can't wait to go back!

Close to Repubblica and Termini its a decent hotel, a bit on the older side but well maintained. Rooms are spacious, clean and offer enough to business/family travelers. Breakfast is not great, but not bad. The staff is helpful and courteous. I would like to make special mention of Anna D. & Alessandro from reception, who helped me with arranging my Vatican your and getting checked in 1 hour in advance! I would stay here with my family when I come to Rome.
