We have just come back from 3 nights at the hotel opera Roma. The staff were very friendly and helpful, pointing us in the direction of the sights when we first arrived. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious with everything we needed. The breakfast was tasty and set us up for our day perfectly. Would definitely recommend the hotel to others. Thanks!

We had booked a room at Hotel Sonya, recommended by Rick Steves. However, when we arrived, they told us they had put us in their sister hotel, Hotel Opera Roma. It is right down the street and our reception was warm and friendly. This was our first night in Italy (ever), so the reception was important to us. Our room was on the third floor. It was European small but comfortable enough. Thankfully, there is an elevator since I can't imagine having to schlep our luggage up all those stairs. It wa... Read more

I spent 9 nights at Hotel Opera Roma in Rome with two friends, and the stay was great. Wonderful beds, breakfast and a concierge that got out of his way to make sure we did not get lost taking the train, bus or just walking. Rezza, I believe that is how is written is one of the best, if not the best concierge I have met in all my travelings and I do a lot of it. Thanks Hotel Opera Roma for a great stay!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. As we were on a tight budget in an expensive city we took the cheapest rooms in the hotel and were based on the ground floor. The room was very small and quite dingy as there was no window, however it was spotless and the beds were really comfortable. We were very near to the breakfast room and there was a small amount of noise from 7am onwards (mainly cutlery) but due to the queues at the major attractions in Rome I would recommend an ear... We booked a room in Hotel Sonya but when we arrived they said that our room was in Hotel Opera Roma...The Hotel was ok but if I booked in Sonya I want my room in Sonya. The only explanation we got was that both hotels has the same owner... I give a 6,5 / 10. The room was small and the wifi never worked, The breakfast ok.Specially the croassants with Nutella. The TV was small and just with Italian chanels

A medium priced hotel with clean well maintained rooms . Friendly staff . Literally next to the opera house - wonderful to hear some rehearsing ! Well located for all the best of Rome - not least the Baths of Diocletian - right next to the termini ( bus and train ) which is only a 5 minute walk . Comfortable , small and friendly ..

Stayed 3 nights. Got the standard single room. Small but doable since Im out most of the day. I original booked hotel Sonya but got sent to hotel opera Roma as they told me I was booked there as its the same owner. Kind of confusing but its Ok. They walked me down the street and took my luggage for me. Room was very clean. Washroom was extremely small though, Everytime I needed to brush my teeth id touch the toilet. The shower also leaked but its fine, I just had a towel to soak up the running w... Read more

Walkable from Termini. A great location to tour Rome from. We enjoyed walking everywhere, though buses and the metro are close at hand. The hotel room was comfortable though the bathroom was small. I didn't notice any street noise. Breakfast was a treat. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Great value for the cost, especially in Rome.

This is a small hotel with not too many rooms, the doors are very tight and the hallways narrow. This wouldn't have bothered us at all had we had a normal hotel room. And by "normal", I mean one that has a window which allows you to see something outside. Our room was fairly small, on the ground floor, one of only two rooms present on that floor. It kind of gave us the feeling that we were sleeping in the servant's closet, as we had a small window, leading to an airing space (common to apartment... Read more

Great hotel and close to the metro and busses. Friendly reception staff. The breakfast is really ok (see the picture). We recommend this hotel. Don't take the room 102 (it is in the basement). We got room 105, very nice room.

The recepsionists were firendly. The building is O.K. It was clean, the room was small with no window. At least slient for a good sleep. Good for people who use rooms only for sleeping. Do not plan to spend time in room, as it is too small for two.

The rooms are not clean enough. The rooms carpet was really wet when checked and smelled. Plus the rooms are really really small. I'm sure there are better places with the same prices. I recommend looking somewhere else.

The room was very clean and tidy with ample of towels for the 3 of us. The location was perfect for the train station, about 5 minutes and it was only a short stroll 10-15 minute stroll to the Colosseum and other attractions. There was a very old lift, as there are in many continental hotels but I used the stairs and it was no issue. There was use of a free safe in the wardrobe and a mini bar if you needed anything extra. The shower was the most powerful we have used while travelling and was gre... Read more

The staff was very nice and helpful. Satellite TV with some channels in English Tiny bathroom in the full room, the other one was a little bigger. Overall a good value for the price.

We visited the hotel opera May/start of June. We found the hotel suited our needs. It was clean, bright and comfortable. The only downside was the very small bathroom, which can't be helped, but it was still perfectly acceptable. Breakfast was Adequate considering the limited choice, the freshly made coffee was the highlight. The reception staff were extremely helpful, especially Litu who went above and beyond to welcome us and made us feel at home. The hotel was ideally located, just off the Ma... Read more

We stayed for two nights to overcome jet lag before heading off around Italy. We had room 101 and it was 'interesting'. The room had a downstairs bathroom that included a shower jacuzzi plonked in the corner of a room that doubled as a gym. Our room did not get any natural light in spite of two windows that were obscured by solid shutters that opened into a dark courtyard. The room smelled of mould and was dusty and dank. The breakfast was adequate. Glad we only had to endure two nights and ... Read more

Upon arriving at the Hotel Opera Roma we were taken to a second facility just down the block, the Hotel Sonya. These hotels are about four blocks from the main train station and toward many of the popular tourist sights. Hotel Sonya was clean, had a great breakfast and a helpful front desk staff. The old cage style elevator was interesting. The large bed was comfortable. The main negative was the room was small, but what do you expect in the center of Rome.

We spent two nights in this hotel to finish our holiday in Rome. The hotel was very clean and presentable with attentive and friendly staff. I was on crutches and in a wheel chair due to a broken foot and they were very accommodating. We were taken to another hotel nearby called hotel Sonya. Upon the recommendation of Rick Steves, I booked a single room at Hotel Sonya via Expedia. When I arrived they immediately took me to another hotel close by, Hotel Opera Roma. Check-in was uneventful and then I was taken to my room, "214", but there was no room number on the door, only "Privado". When I entered the room it was a dingy shoebox with a single window cover with wooden slat shades on the outside that were closed and could not be opened. Fortunately there was at least decent air condi... Read more

We booked 3 rooms with Hotel Opera Roma. When we arrived, we were taken to Hotel Sonya, and given rooms on the 3rd floor. Their old "cage" elevator was fun to experience. The room itself could only be given a 2 rating, but their breakfast was great!

Arrival experience I had the ‚?? unfortunate pleasure‚?? of staying at this hotel for one night. I had originally booked two single rooms at their sister hotel ‚?? Hotel Sonya through Venere.com, some months ago. I was travelling with my friend and both of us are 50 year old women. I did notice on other reviews that that a number of people who had booked the Hotel Sonya were bumped off to this hotel ‚?? Hotel Opera which is an inferior hotel. We stayed at this hotel for our last 2 nights in Rome. Location is OK but a bit of a walk to any of the key shopping areas. A number if restaurants are in the area as the Opera house is just across the street. Rooms are small but reasonably comfortable. Bathrooms are quite small and like many Italian hotels face cloths are non existent. Beds are firm as are the pillows. Mini bar in room but best used for your own beverages. Room was quiet and the desk staff very helpful.

We stayed here with another couple for our three nights in Rome. The hotel is conveniently located to the Termini train station as well as bus and metro stops. All are only a brief walk. There are also stores and small restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself is very average. Rooms are small but provide enough space for you to move around. The bed is average in terms of comfort (a little over-firm) but the pillows were very, very firm. The hotel does provide a nice complimentary bre... Read more

Chose Opera because of its location (close to Termini train Stn and walking distance to 'old' Rome centre: Foro Romano, Pantheon, Trevi fountain, etc, and its price. An easy 7-min walk with baggage from Termini but in a quiet and safe street right next to the opera house. On arrival was told there had been a problem with previous guest (unable to check out because ill) so they had arranged for me to stay in next door Hotel Centro. I have only the highest praise for the staff (everyone of them), the beautiful room, the great breakfast, great coffee and its location. We both loved our trip and usually go to Paris but enjoyed everything about Rome. Never met a negative person during the whole trip. I wish I could remember the little family restaurant near Termini station, beautiful people, service and food. Ciaran and Joan Devine Lisburn Ireland

Each stay at this hotel gets better! The friendly staff treats guests as family. Riza, Letu, ETA, Rita, Angela and the other staff are friendly, helpful and always ready with a smile.
