When we arrived the staff were incredibly friendly and we went to room 103. As many have said the rooms are quite small and this one had no real window as it was looking out onto the air conditioning unit. We had booked through Expedia who sent us an email the first day asking us to write our experience and I commented on the window. The next morning the receptionist who was absolutely charming had read the comments and had without prompting offered to change our room. It is exceedingly rare t... Read more

This is a very modern and clean hotel. It provides a very adequate free continental breakfast. The staff conversed easily in English and were very polite and helpful. We stayed in a family room with en-suite facilities which was a good size and immaculately clean but it was on the street side and unfortunately was noisy till around midnight as there were restaurants at either side and then again from around 5am when the bin wagons arrived. It was in a great location for the hop on hop off buses ... Read more

The Hotel .Memphis is in a very convenient location. The rooms are small but clean, the staff friendly and it was very cosy. It is in a relatively quiet street but close to the main attractions. I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the hotel Memphis for two nights and can not fault our experience. It is a short walk from attractions such as the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. It took around 20 minutes to walk back from the Colosseum. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice with an adequate selection. I stayed in a single room and had read the rooms were small, however, I felt the bathroom was a good size and seemed big enough for me as only needed it as ... Read more

This is a very nice hotel. Clean, big for Rome modern rooms, it has a good breakfast buffet and great location. I paid$208/ night ($236/night after taxes and fees) for a six night stay in May. So what's not to like? Internet. Consistently around 0.5 Mb/sec down and 0.06 up, and often worse. Close to my old dial up modem. What made it worse is that the hotel blocked the Vodafone signal so I couldn't hotspot. I had to go outside to get anything done. Would have been four stars with better... Read more

Location in center of Rome, close to Fontana di Trevi, makes it appealing, but the rooms are very small and depressing. The shower was renovated, although shower booth very small, however the room itself and its furniture haven't been touched for years. A lot of noise from other rooms, and from the street. Empty walls and small TV. Staff was very nice but that is not enough to justify choosing this place again.

We were booked here for the last night of an 17 day trip to Italy this past month. We did stay in another Rome hotel for the first 4 nights of our trip and then 4 in Florence and then 8 days in Amalfi. When we arrived to the hotel after walking from the train station ( should have taken a cab!) we were hardly greeted by the man at the desk. He was not at all welcoming. Simply said here are your room numbers. There are no porters to help you with your bags. Even though our rooms were on t... Read more

This place is so amazing it is close to the Trevi fountain and the town. We walked every where, there are a few Trattoria's here with amazing food. Wonderful amazing experience loved every moment and enjoyed the history, the rooms are small. But you don't really need them to be big as you spend more time out, enjoying life!

I've stayed in this hotel twice now and it's location is great. Walking distance to metro station, trevi fountain and lots of restaurants. The rooms are basic but fine. We were lucky enough to get a room with a roof top terrace for sitting out in the evenings. A brilliant base for a few days sightseeing.

At first we were a little apprehensive about the location being in what amounts to an alley. Once we were there a very short time we realized how great the location was. Christine at the front desk was fantastic. She took a lot of time explaining the layout of the city and the best way to get to each area of interest. The property is really what would be a 3 star hotel in the US but it was great for my whole family. Also another benefit was that there is a laundry facility 150 yards up the ... Read more

My son loved the breakfast (included) offered with our room, and the central location was nice. Rooms were clean, however beds were VERY uncomfortable and Americans booking a room and expecting a Three or Four Star Hotel will be disappointed. I would likely stay elsewhere on my return to Rome. There are so many other options that are more comfortable and also offer good location.

This is a hotel in a location very handy in Roma. It is close to a lot of touristic attractions like the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, churches..... There is a lot of restaurants and shops in the area as well. It is a small hotel but very nice. The only thing that bothered me a little is that the dining room where we ate our breakfast is very small and sometimes we could not eat at the same table because we where three. But the food is very good and the cappuccino is excellent!

Location is great! Close to pubic transportation and in walking distance to several must sees. If you don't mind cramped rooms and spaces, Memphis might be your hotel. I booked a single room, something I don't usually do as I enjoy a little more space. And I regretted it the minute I walked in to the room. I had read the reviews about the rooms, so I wasn't shocked. However, the room was so small, it was hard to get dressed in without bumping into things. The bathroom was actually quite spacio... Hotel was clean and modern. The staff very friendly. The reception staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Special mention to Pierre Maria and another extremely helpful lady which I don't remember her name. They were both friendly and attended to our every need. Also the lady in the breakfast room was very lovely. The location of this hotel was great very close to the Trevi Fountain. Very pleasant stay.

The hotel is situated very close to Trevi Fountain, The Spanish Square and Via del Corso, just in the center of Rome. However, the rooms are very small and if one guest sits at the table, the other guest cannot pass to the bathroom. The room was very well equipped and clean, but no tea or coffee facility in the room. Breakfast was good. I booked transportation from the airport to the hotel, but this didn't show up. We finally took a taxi, which turned out to be cheaper than the hotel cost.

THE GOOD 7mins to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain and apart from the Vatican, which you can get by metro (2mins up the road) it's close to everything and it feels very safe. The staff are also friendly and helpful. THE NOT SO GOOD The walls are really thin so you can hear the people in the room next to you with perfect clarity. Breakfast is beyond basic but the juice is nice and they did get me a whole loaf of gf bread. You have to be at the right angle to see characters on the TV. The ma... Read more

The hotel was located in a great location; easy walking distance to many places of Rome's top sights and a 15min walk to the main train station, but tucked away on a quiet side street that was a nice relief from the busy pace of Rome. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable, staff was extremely friendly, and breakfast was great.

This is not a 4 star hotel. Keep away and go to a real 4 star. Room was ugly hot, bathroom was tiny, bad design and mould in corners of bathtub - YUCK. I had to keep aircon on all night because my room was as hot as sauna in November! Breakfast is appalling. Wifi is terrible and my cell phone could not get any signal inside the hotel! It was like being in jail. Bed was uncomfortable and I could hear my neighbor whenever he or she used the bathroom because the rooms are not soundproof! The ‚??hot... Read more

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights when I was in Rome. And what an experience it was. For me it was the first time to travel abroad alone. Hotel Memphis is a great place to stay, but not really easy to find. It's very close to the Fontana di Trevi, but you wouldn't say. It's in a quiet street, next to a very good restaurant. It's not quite in the city center but you can walk to every part of the city. For example: A walk to The Vatican takes about 30 minutes, a walk to the Colosseum about 25 m... Read more

Stayed at this hotel for three nights last week. Staff were very helpful and friendly, towels changed each day linen changed twice during our stay. Generous bowl of fruit in room on arrival a nice addition. Ideal location for getting around, very near to Trevi fountain and hop on / off bus stop. Breakfast very good , choice of juices, fruits, cereals ham cheese eggs and sausages etc etc Would certainly sta again.
