I chose this hotel based on its closeness to the train station. As others have said, there are some steps up to reception, but nothing too bad. It only took 5-10mins walk from train station to get there. Then it wasn't more than 20mins walk to all the major places people want to see in Rome. Tony met us on arrival and was very helpful explaining where everything was and also giving us the lowdown on where to eat locally. The room is on the small side but that's what you get everywhere in Rome. I... Read more

This hotel must be for fit people only...Kidding but not really. There is a first floor walkup to get to the front desk and if you are walking from the train and hauling your luggage it can be daunting but not terrible. The front desk service is great and can help you in finding your way around Rome but I would strongly suggest to make you own restaurant choices. The rooms are cozy and from what I have heard are a decent size for Rome but in my perception they are small. Our room did have a f... Read more

We stayed at Lirico for 4 nights in May 2016. We most liked the location of the hotel. It is very central, next to Teatro del Opera and it is easily accesible by foot, bus or metro. The room we had was very small for a twin, but we got used to it. The room was clean and sound proof. Breakfast is a little poor, after three days, I didn't know what to eat because it was exactly the same type of food everyday. Expresso coffee is good. Also, the staff is friendly and helpful. Overall it is a loc... Read more

The hotel room was plenty big enough for the three of us, myself and two adult daughters. Very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The location was very good. Ten minute walk from the station and all sites within walking distance too. Much better to walk everywhere if you can as there is so much to see. Something new appearing around every corner. Plenty of places to eat near the hotel. Very enjoyable short bre... Read more

I really liked the hotel. The location is easy walking distance to Termini, but in a MUCH nicer neighborhood, next to the Opera. The breakfast is substantial with meats, cheeses, rolls, eggs, etc. The cappuccinos are hit and miss, literally. Sometimes (if the right person makes it), they're the best in Rome. Other times, they're average at best. In any case, the room was comfortable and very clean. Two warnings: the wifi barely functioned. I could only get a signal if I sat in the bathro... Read more

The Lirico is a small city hotel. The rooms are small with not much room for cases. There is no space of coffee making nor is there a mini fridge but that aside it is very clean, comfortable and most importantly well placed near the sights. Be warned, reception is at the top of a steep flight of stairs with no lift.

Don't let the stairs at the entrance intimidate you. They take good care of you and there is a lift to get you to your room. Rooms are comfortable, typical cozy European style. Decent breakfast, friendly helpful staff. Good location, can walk to/from train station and to most of sightseeing places.

Just back from long weekend in Rome. Cannot fault hotel. Were upgraded to triple room overlooking opera house.Staff very efficient and friendly, hotel spotlessly clean. The stairs up to reception are quite steep but all you need to do is ask and there is always someone to assist you. All in all a great city centre hotel for the price.

My wife booked this hotel for both of us on our recent stay in Rome. Like other reviewers had mentioned, there is a flight of stairs in the entrance. We arrived in the morning and was given the option to wait for the next hotel staff worker to be available (most of them were working in the kitchen preparing breakfast for guests) to help us bring our luggage up. Since we wanted to explore the city, Tony at the front desk watched our luggage for us while we returned in the afternoon (3pm). We ... Read more

I stayed for a couple of nights at Hotel Lirico and I highly recommend this place. The staff are very friendly and helpful, always with a smile on their face. The location is ideal as it is less than a 5 minute walk to Termini train station and 15 to 20 minutes walk to the major attractions, and a 25 minute bus ride to the Vatican (bus number 40 or 64 from the train station) The rooms and bed and are very comfortable. Also within walking distance of all Rome attractions except the Vatican, to which public transport is nearby. I would advise walking to everything else from here as you see so much along the way. We each had a twin bed but two of the beds were pushed together to look like a master bed so my husband and I slept right next to each other. Good location within walking distance of many downtown attractions. We stayed a total of 3 nights on two different occasions within a 2 week period and had two separate rooms. Both were clean. Everything is a bit small in this B&B including the bathrooms and the elevator which is only large enough for 2 people with luggage, but not a problem. A Rome Taxi driver said that Rome is a difficult city to love, but once you know it, itâ??s impossible not to love. I found that so true in April of 2016 during my first visit. Specifically with the Hotel Lirico. My first impression of the Hotel was that it was a typical European tourist hotel. First time American tourists normally complain about the small rooms, small televisions and the myriad of missing amenities that are normally found in an USA vacation hotel. The hotel is in the best location in Rome. It is a true 5 minute walk fron termini station. Go out the front of termini station take the main road in front of you turn left, go 3 blocks and it is on the right hand side. The room was spacious and decorated very nicely. It was clean, and Paolo at the front desk was great. It is literally a 30 minute walk max to most tourist areas. The metro is easy and inexpensive. They have great air conditioning.

There are steps into the hotel but once you're in there is a lift. We were greeted by a very cheerful chap who checked us in quickly and got out a town map so he could draw the best routes to the things we wanted to see. I really liked this hotel. The room was comfortable and the staff was incredibly nice. A gentleman came to drop keys off to an airbnb and they called me twice to ok him coming up. I stayed 5 nights at the Lirico located in a very central part of Rome right next to the opera theatre. The room was not overly big but it had a good sized ensuite. Best part was its extensive breakfast menu catering to both local and western tastes. Be warned that to reach reception you have to climb up a flight of about 25 steps. Nice, clean hotel. Polite and helpfull staff available 24 hours a day. Stayed in a triple room with looots of space, and a very big bathroom. The decoration was a little outdated but ok... The location of the hotel, near termini station is easy to reach but not the best mostly because it is quite noisy and it doesn't make you feel safe.

For the most of it, is a good hotel. Let's start work the advantages, its location is excellent (700mts from central station, less than 500mts from a subway station, around 1.5km walking distance from most sites), the staff is very friendly, bathrooms look renovated and its clean, though little bit old. For the cons, the biggest one is the huge stair you have to climb when you arrive. For a long stay, if you don't have any difficulty to go up and down around 20 steps each time, it's ok, but wh...
