This was our second stay at the Homs.. It is within walking distance of the Spanish Steps( being cleaned now) , Trevi Fountain, Parthenon, Coliseum, and the Vatican. There is shopping on nearby streets and as a bonus right accross the street is the Anglo American Book Company. All your reading needs can be found there. Our double room was small but clean and the beds are comfortable. Bathrooms have typical European plumbing, sometimes inexplicable, but functional. Our grandson's single room ... Read more

Desk help sucks. First hotel ever been in that you have to stick door card in wall to keep electric on. Never told about on check in. Lights just kept going out in room until calling desk to find out about sticking card in wall. WIFI just sucks. Had outside room on 1st floor and couldn't get consistent connection. Had to go to lobby to get wifi connection and by time getting back to room lost. Big crack in bathroom glass sink. Air conditioning wouldn't seem to cool. After 2 days, guy came in and... Read more

We chose the eternal city of Rome, to spend a marriage anniversary here. Hotel Homs is an ideal place for couples, though the room was not large. But but it is understandable, as it's located in historical surroundings, very close to the Spanish steps. There are many restaurants around, where you can meet some great people and enjoy an excellent cuisine. In the evenings, we spent a time on the roof terrace available for guests, sipping Italian wine, watching the rooftops of the city and people ... Read more

The hotel,is in a really central location and is clean. The rooms are very small but spent little time as Rome has so much to do and see. The gentleman on reception was friendly but the girls were not too friendly or helpful but this did not put me off as I was out most of the time.

We enjoyed our time here. May be a little outdated but the staff was very nice and the location is good..central to Spanish Steps and Trevi. The bathroom is small but that is typical of Roman hotels in the Centro Storico. It was a little odd that the housekeeping staff kept stacks of clean towels in the hallways, but at least they were cleaning :)

We have stayed all over the world at 3-5 star hotels. The location is great, but the front staff was abrupt. We had an executive suite with twin beds for our teens. Instead we got a double with a pullout sofa for two grown teens. The hallway had garbage in it and the hallways needed vacumed. The carpet in the hallway was low grade fake grass. Would not recommend this hotel if you travel alot. Also internet was not great. You will be disapointed. Attached is our view from the room. Unbelievable!... Read more

Firstly, a great location, shame about the hotel. Arrived at 1930 to a prebooked room and was shown a small dingy room that had barely room for the double bed. Next room was the same, and told that's all we have except for paying an extra ?250 a night for a suite. As it was a celebration vacation and the rooms were terrible we had no real option but to agree. The manager was unavailable during our whole stay, various excuses including admitted to hospital were used. Seems this trick has been u... Read more

The room was great, and a great location. We were able to walk to most major sites with out any problems. The hotel room was upgraded to a two room suite, which was a nice surprise. We slept 4 adults comfortable, and shared 1 bathroom. We would stay there again most definitely.

Hotel Homs is centrally located - easily reached from Spagna, the Spanish Steps station. You can reach everything you might need to either by walking or a quick (or slow in the heat!) stroll to the station. The room my husband and I had was a good size, compared to other hotel rooms we've stayed in in Italy. The air conditioning worked well as did all other electronics. And the bed was large and comfortable. Everything was cleaned well. When we needed assistance from front desk they were h... Read more

The hotel is situated near the Spanish Steps. Taxi's were plentiful and there were a number of restaurants and shops nearby. The Hotel has considerate staff but the building (cooling and finishes especially) that keep it in the low 4 star range.

Overall had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Homs. Location is very central (close to Spanish Steps), and breakfast was good. We had a very large room on 4th floor, that was perfect for a 4 person family. Was particularly quiet, amidst the general ongoing noise and congestion of Rome. Staff were helpful with questions and booking a local tour.

We stayed in this hotel for a long weekend. The hotel is clean and well presented. However our room whilst being more than adequate could have done with a little TLC to tidy it up. The shower had a mind of its own and flooded the bathroom if you were not careful and the curtains didn't quite fit all the way around the full window opening leaving light to flood in when it got light. The safe in the wardrobe would only accept certain numbers, so care needed to be taken not to lock passports aw... Read more

Lovely hotel close to the Spanish steps, metro, restaurants and shopping. Excellent wifi! Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Well stocked mini bar, in room safe, hairdryer. Staff were pleasant. Only downfall was that the room wasn't soundproofed and I heard noise from guests beside me and down the hall. Overall a nice hotel and pleasant stay.

Myself and my partner stayed here for 3 nights. The food is terrible, the staff are the rudest I have ever come across and on landing back to Ireland 2 days ago I realised they took another 125euro from my bank account after I paid the bill before leaving. I called them and got screamed at by the receptionist who then hung up on me. Rooms are not what they are like in the pictures. Do not be fooled into staying here. Only positive was the location but there are 100 other hotels near this one. DO... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for nearly a week and loved it - i was traveling solo but I felt very secure on the block it was on. There were a few great restaurants outside of the hotel, money exchange around the corner, spanish steps literally a 5 minute walk, a nightclub half a block. The staff was very accommodating - they kept the rooms very clean - I had an adorable view from my room. The room was small but very comfortable for me as I mentioned I traveled solo. Our booking hadn't been held on arriving at the hotel, booked through Expedia, they said that it was our fault, we checked with Expedia and it wasn't. Only a single room left, tiny, not suitable and the receptionist released it whilst we were there. Didn't offer any help to find another hotel, we did, and did not offer help to get to another hotel with their own transport which they were offering to other guests. Really wanted to love this hotel. I gave it a 1 star because its location is good for walking. However, no taxi driver wants to come near the place. Forget about bringing a car. There is no where to stop and nowhere to park. However, my biggest complaint is about the staff. We called in advance to ask about parking. We were told there was a valet who would handle the parking. Untrue!!! They sent my husband with convoluted directions to a parking garage. I was frantic. He was gone for ... Read more

Stayed for 4 nights in September in an executive room. Checking in was quick and painless. Reception staff were efficient and polite. I would have liked a bit more information about the hotel and facilities but this did not spoil our stay. Our room was an executive room on the fourth floor (room 413). As expected for a city hotel, the room was on the small side but perfectly adequate and cleaned daily. The configuration of the bathroom was a little odd, but the shower was large enough for ... Surprise weekend booked by our daughter for our 50th birthdays. Hotel was welcoming, clean with friendly staff. Ideally situated 1 minute to the Spanish steps, 5 mins to the Trevi fountain. Breakfast was a buffet consisting of pastries, cold meats, cheeses, fruit salad & bacon & scrambled eggs. We were upgraded to a suite with a terrace which was lovely but really didn't have the time to enjoy it as we were visiting the sites of beautiful Rome. Highly reccommend.

You could not wish for a more perfect location for a hotel. It is close to Spanish steps and in the best shopping area in Rome. However, hotel is old and dirty. There was so much dust under the beds that my kids got itchy eyes. Repeated requests to wash the floors made no difference. Also the hotel is very old and plumbing needs major overhaul.

My wife and I reserved an "Executive Double". We walked into a room that may have been 150 square feet. I immediately went back to the front desk and asked if there was a mistake. The desk clerk, Gianluca, confirmed that is what I was given. To be honest, Gianluca was the best aspect of the hotel. He said he could not upgrade us to a suite, and did not have another spare room that night. However, the next day he had us moved to a larger room on the same floor at no extra charge. We book a quadruple room which was advertised as a double and two single beds, but it was a double bed and sofa bed.
