excellent stay, excellent customer service. this is a small family run hotel, about 15 minute walking distance from everywhere except the vatican, and even that is about a 20 cab ride from this hotel. my family and i walked within 15 minutes to the trevi falls, spanish steps, and about a 30 minute walk to the collosium. this is also a 5 minute walk from several different country embassasies. this facility did have a full private bathroom with a shower in the room. if you are looking for a reason... This was a fantastic hotel! Marco and family were all super friendly. They gave us great recommendations- all around Rome. Have no complaints other than the wi-fi is a bit spotty which made our future travel arranging somewhat difficult. We just went to other place to get wi-fi. Would come back here again in a second and would recommend this to friends and family!!

We had three nights at this hotel in late May - got excellent personal recommendations from Giuseppe on restaurants and tips for sightseeing. The accommodations were small but as expected, but more than made up for by the attentive customer service. It offered one of the nicest breakfasts we had at any of the four hotels at which we stayed in Italy. They arranged transportation to the airport for 50 euros, that arrived on time. Very efficient air conditioning as well. I would stay there aga... Read more

Hotel Golden, what can one say about quaint perfection? It's a small family run boutique hotel, it's rooms are quite lovely and it's easy to get anywhere from there whether on foot or by metro, bus or taxi. My wife and I walked everywhere from there, morning breakfast is great, the family all works at the hotel so help is always only steps away from you. Overall a fantastic experience, I will stay again on my next trip thru Rome

This family owned hotel is very comfortable and the location is perfect for seeing the Rome attractions. The brothers were so eager to help with plans and went the extra effort to take care of us. Their moms breckfast buffet was amazing!!!! I will be back and highly recommend this place to all travelers to Rome.

We stayed at Hotel Golden for two nights. It is a perfectly pleasing hotel but I am slightly baffled that its rating on Trip Advisor is so high. The rooms are comfortable but also dark and the decor is lacking in charm. The bed is quite firm. The breakfasts are nice but no better than other Roman hotel I have stayed at and the breakfast room is tiny. Also, the hotel location is a little out of the way for most attractions. The best thing about Hotel Golden is the staff. They are very frie... Read more

Hard to beat to location of this hotel - no more than 40 minutes walking to any major Rome attraction. What makes the hotel special is the owners. They will show you how to get to where you want to go, what to avoid, where to eat......anything you want. You will never get this sort of attention at a chain hotel. The room we had was modestly sized, almost large by European standards and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was typical for European hotels and prepared by Mama. So if you're looking for... Read more

This is a very small hotel. It is not big or flashy at all. In fact the only big sign outside just says "hotel", not Hotel Golden. You have to find the small plaque on the outside wall which lets you know you are at the Hotel Golden. It is on the 2nd floor of a quiet building with an old-fashioned, but beautiful elevator. The family that owns the hotel is very, very nice and helps you in any ways that you need. We felt very safe there. Several restaurants within a very short walking dist... Read more

We visited 3 cities on our vacation and this was by far our favorite hotel. It's walking distance to everything (and I mean everything), clean, and cozy. The home-made breakfast is plentiful and delicious with everything from fruit to pastries to meats and cheeses and frittatas. The customer service here is above and beyond. I'm not sure how to put it to give them enough credit for everything they did. Giuseppe mapped out our entire itinerary for our two days and suggested restaurants and gelate... Read more

A superb family centred hotel near the Borghese Park. The breakfast was great the rooms huge, and the service was warm and friendly. Great tips offered on how to experience the best of Rome. A lift for your suitcases and close to the Spanish steps and the lookout to the Vatican. Super quiet. Highly recommended.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Golden. The hotel is within walking distance of many attractions and is also a short walk from buslines and the subway. Marco and Guiseppe were extremely helpful with answering our many questions about directions, restaurants, etc. The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful as well. Our room was quiet and very clean and the breakfast was absolutely wonderful! We would not hesitate to stay there again.

If you travel to Italy, you will definitely visit Rome and this hotel is a great option for all travelers who want to stay at a budget wise but nice place. Its not that close to Rome's main tourists sites like the Fontana di Trevi or the Coliseum but is not as far as to take a taxi and you will enjoy the sightseeings of the city meanwhile you walk from the hotel to the city center. Our family (2 adults, 2 teens) stayed here three nights. Our room was a suite with three rooms. It was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was wonderful! What made our stay so nice was the staff. It is a family owned and operated hotel and they are so nice and very helpful. Especially Guiseppe. He gave us a map and showed us all the things we should see in Rome and recommended excellent places to eat. This made our visit to Rome perfect! We highly recommend this hotel!

Very good recommendations for Restaurants, local walking tours (Trevi Fountain was easily walkable from HG) as well as help with local travel arrangements. Breakfast was meraviglioso! The room was very inviting after a long day of touring. And did I mention the amazing breakfast? I can't say enough about our stay and look forward to returning soon!

Our initial contact was with Marco at check in (4 nights). He was extremely helpful with recommending lesser known local sites and nearby restaurants. We returned from Sorrento to spend our last night in Rome at Hotel Golden and was checked in by his brother Giuseppe. He was so helpful. My wife's purse was stolen on the train from Florence and he assisted us with our boarding passes and which needed our new passport numbers, something we didn't even think of. On arrival our host gave us a map and some great pointers on places to visit, and places to eat. All the staff were very friendly, and spoke excellent English. The bed was large and comfortable, the air con was very powerful which was necessary to sleep in the hot weather. There were bedside tables, a wardrobe, safe, mini bar, and TV. The bedroom and ... Hotel Golden is quaint and charming. We really appreciated the pointers and restaurant recommendations provided by Marco. Hotel Golden in Rome is a very comfortable and clean hotel. Its location is about a 10 min walk to Barberini Metro Station and about 20 to get on foot the Fontana di Trevi area. We stayed two nights and chose Hotel Golden based in trip advisor reviews and the proximity to Villa Borghese as we planned to spend the last day of our three week Italian holiday at Villa Borghese to let our two year old play and have fun. The proximity to Borghese was amazing, literally across the road. The staff were friendly, rooms clean, beds comfy and breakfast delicious. A haven of cool and calm warmth in a hot and busy city - just what is needed to relax and unwind in between hectic jaunts around Rome! Good breakfast.
