Lovely hotel at a fantastic price. You can tell this is a family run hotel as they pay attention to the small details. The rooms were lovely and large with a great bathroom. The hotel was quite and we slept really well. Right by the river and with all the attractions within a sort walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again myself.

We came here for 3 days after our cruise. We were able to check in early with the very friendly front desk staff. We got an excellent corner room with small balcony on 3rd floor. This hotel is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The staff are more then nice, breakfast included with an excellent fresh selection and the room/hotel had very nice details which you can tell come from pride of ownership. Only issue is the wifi was VERY weak in our corner room. Mostly unusable on all devices unle... Read more

We stayed for a week and it was lovely. We had a super room with a balcony. It was really large too. The staff were great and so helpful. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and really set you up for the day. Only negative was the bed was a bit too hard for us.

We enjoyed our stay in Rome immensely and hotel Giulio cesare certainly was a very good choice. Best breakfast is served. Bed was good and relaxing. Room could have been a little bigger but was good. Location was great because we had a nice route from where we are to down south with pleasant walkways and streets. Vatican and public transit is minutes if not seconds away. Overall some place I would definitely go back to :)

Our room was for 3 adults, it was large enough to move around easily even with the 3 large pieces of luggage (we were really never in the room except to sleep, shower and dress). It is beautifully decorated 76 rooms, gorgeous floral arrangements & antique furnishing that make you feel like you are in the City of 7 Hills (Romulus & Remus) gives you that feeling of what Ancient Rome was like. . . The breakfast buffet was amazing, so much to choose from and the wait staff was great with bringing yo... Read more

Lots of good things to say about this hotel, the location is excellent, quite close to main attractions, there are some excellent restaurants within a 10 minute walk and also one of the best Gelatos in the City. The room we had was small but had all one would need, the breakfast buffet was excellent, I even liked the tea. The mini croissants were ace. The downsides were the chap on reception in the afternoons was not very focused, the sausages at breakfast were salty and a little hard. But the... Read more

We spent three nights in this hotel; it was a most enjoyable experience. We took a limousine to the hotel which proved a good way to arrive after a long trip from Australia to Rome. The room was well appointed with a bathroom, lovely beds and plenty of room. We were so tired that we just fell asleep at 4pm Rome time and awoke after 9pm; no dinner that night. This is a lovely quiet hotel. Free Wifi available. Breakfast was wonderful with a double shot Espresso served to the table, great service.... Read more

We were only in Rome for a half day so we didn't spend much time at Hotel Giulio Cesare. Our room was decent sized and our bathroom was large. We couldn't leave the windows open due to some kind of music festival going on behind the hotel. I had to call to get them to turn on the A/C in the room. The hotel was not as close to the Vatican as advertised. It was at least 20-25 minutes through a couple trashy parts along the river.

Great little getaway hotel. My room was comfortable and quaint. Deep bath tub was nice. Not much of a view in the room I had but I was only there to sleep. I walked most places. Good location- 15 minute walk to the Vatican and a 20 minute can ride to the Coliseum. Hotel staff were very kind and helpful.

Me and my partner spent 4 nights in the hotel and we have nothing but nice things to say about this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the room size was good although we stayed in the unmodernised room, it was still perfectly acceptable considering that we only needed it to rest and sleep. The breakfast was very good and had a great selection of fruit, cakes, hams, and all the usual food. We met the owner and he was a lovely gentleman and assured us that all the fruit and veg were f... Friendly, nice garden court for the bar, breakfasts were buffet and very good. It is conveniently located walking distance to the Vatican and some descent cafes - the desk recommendations were good. Very near the Tiber River, although that is only a plus if you want to walk the convenient bridge to sights on the other side. Our room had a balcony but I believe few others did. The Vatican wall is maybe a half mile. A walk to the Parthenon, Spanish Steps (under renovation at this writing) an... Read more

Giulio Cesare hotel is located in Rome's Prati district, the streets surrounding the hotel are all pretty quiet so you won't be disturbed by any street noise. The hotel itself is clean and nice and the staff felt friendly and helpful. The room we had on the fourth floor was fairly big compared to many other hotels you might find in Europe, with a large bed in the middle and a view out to the garden. Small but nice bathroom in marble with bathtub and shower and the usual toiletries/equipment y... Read more

We had a triple room which had a balcony and was spacious for our family of 3. We only stayed one night prior to leaving for the airport the next morning. We chose this hotel because we could walk to the Vatican (15 min) for our tour during the day. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owner who treated us adults to cappuccinos and a tray of cake/pie for our daughter. He even gave our daughter fresh flowers from the garden! The rest of the staff was very friendly. We would stay agai... Read more

This hotel is quite old. Although clean, modern conveniences i.e. elevator, safe in room were lacking. It's in a great location near several good bistros and walking distance to Vatican. Has a bar but no restaurant.

The located of this hotel is approximately 15 minutes walk to the Vatican, shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is clean. The evening front reception girl was very friendly and nice, morning personnel not so much. We had room 106, which is in the ground floor, the room is small, with a very small bathroom. The shower is extremely small with a curtain that you constantly have to make sure it doesn't block the drain and have water overflow. It's so small you can't really bend down to pic... Read more

Stayed at this lovely hotel at the end of a full week of biking. Our accommodation was relatively small (normal for Rome), clean, very quiet with a large private balcony. Two bed rooms were somewhat larger but no balconies. The breakfast was large with eggs, meats, fruit, yogurts, pastries, juices, coffees including cappuccino. Everything was very clean and well maintained. It is located within walking distance from St Peters. A very recommended place to stay in Rome.

So nice that the place might even be classified as elegant. Very attractive place. Great breakfast. Nice outside garden area where you can sit and have cocktails, although for some reason, barely anyone seems to use it. My only criticism is that the interior of the room we had was perhaps a bit worn. The beds could definitely use some new bedspreads.

Pros: Close to subway Rich breakfast Kind and professional staff Wireless internet works well in rooms Clean. Cons: There is no way to signal "do not disturb" while you are out of the room. I don't like cleaning my room every day. Hot water in the shower has many cold-water waves. Thin walls. I could hear in details every time the guy in the upper floor went to the bathrooms. You must enter you key card to a slot to have electricity. I know it is very common in Italy, but it is very annoying... Read more

Just come back from a stay at this hotel, pleasant stay, staff friendly. Room was enough for one person, although walls very thin, I could hear the people next door and above me. Hot water tap very slow and came on when it wanted to. The Breakfast was plentiful, however the supposed hot food was cold eg eggs, bacon and sausages. Not a lot of bars and restaurants around the hotel. A 10 minute walk straight down to the Vatican Museums(which are very busy but worth seeing). Overall a nice hotel and... Read more

I normally make a point of only posting positive reviews, but this is an exception. The hotel is pretty and well located, but if you are in Rome in the summer, stay away. The air conditioning does not work--the front desk manager told me it doesn't work when it is hot out (?) and when I asked for a fan he told me they had none. He was quite rude. There are plenty of hotels/air B and B options in Rome--pick one of those.
