"+" The breakfast was sufficient and the bathroom was not that bad. "-" We've stayed for only one night. The room we got was at the ground floor and it was small, very dark and not so clean. The walls were very thin as we could hear the guests from the next room clearly. The Wifi connection did not work at all! The location of the hotel is not that convenient as is it a 15 min walk from Battistini metro station and on top of a hill.

+ room clean and average +breakfast good and average + maids do their job well - thin walls and we ended up with school kids next to us who were up shouting til around 3am - they decided to replace beds in the room above us at around 8am and were re arranging the furniture - was hit and miss if the key cards worked -they request you give them your key card when you go out, which we were happy to do. However the problem comes from them having no system in place to know they are giving the correc... Read more

Okay so this place gets some pretty awful reviews and I can understand why. However positives, the bed was clean and relatively comfy, breakfast was limited but not awful and it's cheap hotel. We booked last minute so were unable to get a city centre hotel so we ended up here, we didn't quite realise how far from the city it is though. The hotel give you a map to the metro which says "500m away"... bit more than that I would say it's down a massive hill with some delightfully smelly bins and t... Read more

READ this! Just left this hell hole today and I don't know where to start from! Location: far from city center but easy ride on Metro (about 10 stops from Termini) and a long walk up the hill. Rooms: what rooms? Wardrobe more like it. Because I was alone I opted for a single "room" trust me I went to boarding school and I've never seen a room so small! Very thin walls you can hear everything from the next room I mean EVERYTHING! When they flush their toilet, room 216 shakes! The noise from ... Read more

Wasn't especially tidy- hair left on bathroom floor and a tiny room. Opposite a noisy bar in a intimidating area also very hard to find if you don't know where you are going. It's a 15 minute walk minimum to the metro or bus -on a road with part of a pathway or walk on road. The only positive I found was they did a good breakfast buffet.

This is tucked away at the end of the Metro with a 15 mins walk to the hotel. Staff very accommodating. Quiet hotel and clean. No lift to top floor though. Wifi in foyer The loo in my room 6 Top Floor needs some gymnastics if you want to sit down with your legs over your shoulder !!

So the good parts are The bus stop is 5 minutes away to catch the metro or to go direct to the Vatican. There is a night bus too. The cafe opposite the hotel is the best part- friendly, good food and atmosphere. Rooms are clean and water is hot And the bad parts There are no other facilities around the hotel. There were directions to an ATM but we didn't find it. You can hear everything from neighbouring rooms. Breakfast is poor- machine coffee and juice- tinned fruit salad- so that leaves bre... The hotel probably was a garage in the past, that's why there are no balconies. The property has a round shape. The rooms are quite small, and surely I do not want to describe the bathrooms! The first day, we were given a room on the ground floor, into which the windows were on the top near the ceiling and you could not see outside. When we refuse to go inside, they gave us a room on the 5th floor, with a bathroom for -I don't know-babies. If you are more than 20 kgr and 1 meter height, try not ... Read more

The reviews do somewhat sum up my experience of the Giotto. It's basic, a little out of the way, but CHEAP and clean. For context, my single room was little over GBP30/night, in the middle of August. I had a single room, which was certainly on the small side. My friend's double was more comfortably proportioned. It was clean, and the bed comfortable enough as a place to crash. However the room was dingy by day, yet insufficiently darkened by the thin and tatty curtains by night. Wifi is... Read more
