We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of April. We arrived late in the evening and we were greeting warmly by the gentleman at the desk. The porter was particularly friendly. He offered sweets to our 7 year old son after checking we were OK with it. As he took us to our room he picked up some complimentary maps for us and pointed out the hotel and the 'must see sites'. The lift is spacious and easily took the four of us and all our luggage. Our room was very clean, spacious and we could ... Read more

A fine hotel in the heart of Rome, barely 5 minutes walk to Termini Stazione, thus giving easy connection to Metro, Leonardo Express, or long-distance trains. Located on Via Cavour, which is a typically busy (noisy) Roman street. If you're a light sleeper try to get a room that does not face the street. My room was small, as many European rooms are, but entirely adequate, and with a comfortable well-equipped bathroom. The hotel has elevators that are spacious compared to some hotels in Italy. Ve... Hotel was ok not what I'd expect for 4* Room was smaller than I'd expect but was adequate. I had a street facing room the noise of the city didn't bother me but had to open window as air con was not effective enough. The breakfast was basic and the "hot" items warm at best. The reception area was open plan and felt the staff spent too much time at their desk with no one manning the reception desk and more than once had to ask for help before the noticed me. The hotel was in a great location 2 b... Read more

The place is clean and rooms are large by European standards. Its on a busy street, so Its a bit noisy if you opened the windows. But its close to many attractions and the train Terminal is 3 blks away only. There are many budget restaurants within 2 blks . Including many ethnic restaurants and a Chinese restaurant that is very inexpensive. Do avoid the grotta Amatriciana restaurant nearby, which is a tourist trap with poor food and many extra charges. The hotel breakfast is very good althoug... Read more

We were two friends who were here for three nigths, and must say the hotel was OK. The location were good, and the staff was friendly, but more than that, there's not really to say. The rooms was OK, the wifi was at times kind of OK, the breakfast was OK, but be sure to try to get a room with a window to any other side than to Via Cavour, since that is a heavy trafficed road, and the romans like to honk their cars :) Also, we were put in a smoking floor (or maybe the whole hotel was a smoking ... Hotel was clean; front desk staff was excellent. Most rooms were small - very small. The location is good and the breakfast is OK, not great. Wifi was available, but very slow. Overall adequate, but would not merit four stars in most places.

We were looking for a centrally located hotel that was convenient to most venues and sights (added plus, it was in walking distance to Terminal Train Station). It was to be clean and supported by a pleasant, professional and nice staff. It fit the bill and I'd stay here again. Its not palatial, not extravagant or luxurious. It was a great location and offered respite for the night when we finished touring, dining and partaking in the plentiful wine in Rome. If you're planning on hanging around y... Read more

Just returned from 3 night stay. Hotel is central to all bus, rail and shuttle services. A clean hotel with good bathroom facilities and comfortable beds. Breakfast is o.k. Usual continental with the addition of scrambled egg and frankfurter. Swap the frankfurter for bacon or sausage and it would be much better. A bit noisy but you would expect that in the middle of a city that doesnt sleep. Overall an uncomplicated hotel with good beds.

We spent 11 nights at Hotel Genova and were surprised at the mixed reviews on trip advisor. The rooms were smallish but with huge beds, lovely full sized bath sheets, all the soaps etc. you could wish for, frequent changes of bed linen and a fridge. We were lucky to be on the top floor by the roof terrace which we used every evening before going out to dinner. Breakfast was buffet style and again I do not understand the critisicm. I have been to Rome a number of times and know it well however this was my first time at Hotel Genova. I have to say i was very impressed with this hotel. It is clean and moden. Most comments here have implied that it is more like a 3*. I have to dissagree. We have to realise that we are judging its star status on an Itailian not UK basis and for Italy it is 4* rating. The hotel was brilliant. The rooms were fantastic for temperature, thanks to the air conditioning. The location was brilliant - a few minutes walk from the metro and Termini, a McDonalds close by for those not wanting to try the local cuisine, plenty of places on the same street for those that DO want to try the local cuisine! Also, a few minutes walk from a supermarket to pick up "some bits for lunch," and almost next to a gift shop, in case you forget to pick anything up for the family until t... Read more

The price is totally a bargain so we didn't expect a hotel up to this standard especially for its convenience. The room is not big but very decent as everything is refurbished (apart from the floor). They kept the room very clean and staff are all very friendly & helpful. The free breakfast is very decent as well with some hot food served. Wifi was kind of weak but that's ok!

The hotel is 2 minutes from the Termini, so great if you need to catch a bus, tram, metro or train anywhere. We booked a double with breakfast included, and when we arrived we asked for a twin room. After checking, they had one so they asked us to wait 2 hours whilst they sorted the room out. No problem, they took our bags and we went off on search of food. Which isn't far at all. Came back and our room was ready. We had room 108 which was great as we had no neighbours on either side due to ... Read more

We stayed for 3 nights with two kids, we have reserved the quadruple room. All rooms have no balcony and relatively tight. The hotel is located near the center, the service is very good but they are poor in recommendations in regards of good restaurants and places to go. If you are seeking a place just to sleep this hotel is fair, but if you spend time at your room then for sure this is not suitable for you. and don't expect much for breakfast.

Now the rooms weren't large but if one doesn't have too many suitcases then it is ample. The staff very friendly and will willingly keep your luggage till the room is ready. The location is decent and great if you need to be close to the train station -- it was very convenient as we ended up taking taxi's to most places and we just walked to the train stations Taxi line. My cousin and I arrived at the hotel before 1 pm and luckily our room was ready and we were able to check-in. I believe the person that checked us in was Ricardo and he was very nice. This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station, which was perfect for our 1 night stay at this hotel. Easy to walk to with luggage and the hotel has a very appealing look. The room is perfect for what you need for your stay. We arrived before check in and they hold your luggage in a locked room. The bed is a bit hard for my liking but my husband enjoyed it. They also have a roof top patio which is perfect for a late night drink. Would stay again based on location.

Decent location with many restaurants nearby. Most of the major attractions like the ruins, Trevi Fountain, and Panethon were at least a 15-30 min walk away, depending on your pace (different directions, of course). This was the 4th hotel we stayed at on our tour to Italy. It was clean and mostly quiet with the exception of the outside noise at night. When you open the window from the inside don't lean too far as you might fall out the window several stories down as there is no screen or Plexiglas to keep you from tumbling out.
