We stayed for a 3 night break, hotel staff very helpful and polite, this hotel is in the perfect location for site seeing all the different historical buildings of Rome very near to many of them, room was very clean and tidy, can't wait to go back again very soon. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. We loved it, the roof top bar in the evening is a must too.

You can't beat the location - we gazed at the Forum from our windows. The room was lovely. Some reviews noted dissatisfaction with their table location at the Roof top restaurant but we requested a nice view table when we made the reservation and were certainly not disappointed! Dinner was great. Wine list includes the extravagant but also the reasonable ( only 50e for the excellent 2010 Brunello di Montechino) Just stayed one night and worse checked out early for a 7:00am flight, The Hotel eas... We had dinner at the Garden Restaurant before our night tour of the Colosseum and the view was unbelievably beautiful. Five star service with a five course meal. The waiter was attentive to our needs during our meal. The setting was perfect and I felt we could have spent more time sitting and taking in the view of the surroundings. Our meal was full of flavor and beautifully displayed. We would highly recommend this restaurant for an enjoyable relaxing meal and the music! July 2014

I have stayed maybe twenty times at the forum over the last ten years, Although always on business, I look forward to the Forum. Great location, literally 100 Metres from the Forum and less than ten minutes walk to the Coliseum. It is on a little lane with some fantastic restaurants, but also near a main thoroughfare , with even more nice restaurants. The best thing is breakfast, food is good, the view would cheer up an onion {as my mother would say}. There are these two old Italian guys who see... Read more

Really charming old hotel with great view from roof restaurant just few steps from Colosseum and Forum Romanum . The rooms are not so well equipped as in new hotels and the bathroom could be cleaner but the atmosphere, location and breakfast on the roof with super view compensate all the small mistakes. And hotel staff is really friendly.

Hotel Forum is in the perfect location in ancient Rome. Steps from the forum and a short walk to the Colosseum and Palatine Hill. Great restaurants just a short walk away in all directions. You can walk to most major sites or catch the metro at the Colosseum. We had breakfast included in the rooftop restaurant. Perfect start to each day. Our triple room had a fabulous view up the cobbled street which was fairly quiet at night however the bin lorry was a good alarm to wake us up as the room was pitch black at night due the wooden shutters. Comfy beds and good air conditioning, Some rooms had kettles some didn't, fantastic views from the roof top bar however it seemed rather small. Quite a grand hotel, very comfortable and very clean, sheets and towels changed daily. We stayed for four nights as a sight seeing trip and were able to walk to many of the attractions. We did not eat in the hotel as we wanted to try the many little restaurants there but we did visit the famous roof top restaurant and bar. Unfortunately we were slightly disappointed as we were served very expensive coffees by a rather condesending waiter who appeared not to be too keen to serve us at all

We stayed 5 nights here recently on our first trip to Rome. Having not stayed in any other Rome hotels I cannot compare this hotel to others. Firstly the hotel is in a good location, opposite the forum ruins and a short walk from the colosseum. The Trevi fountain is also walking distance. Make sure you get a gelato at the shop to the left of the Trevi, best in Rome! The rooms at the hotel we found disappointing. Small by any standard and a bit tired. Stayed here for three nights with my husband, daughter (19) and son (16). My husband chose this hotel for its proximity to all of the "sights". Right next to the Roman Forum (hence the name) and an easy walk to the Colosseum. It was a wonderful choice. We had a family room (which had two bathrooms - essential for us). Literally 30 feet from parts of the Roman Forum. Steps away from the Colosseum. Fantastic quad room was actually two joined rooms (one with queen sized bed and one with two single beds), each with ensuite bathroom. Air conditioning was reasonable but never freezing. Roof top bar had wonderful view of the Forum, but pricey (each drink around 12 euro). Breakfast was a simple continental breakfast with some eggs and bacon, but also a little pricey.

A great hotel, behind the Roman Forum. I've been staying there since 1977. This is an old fashioned hotel who even arranged for my car to be serviced in one of their lockups. Have breakfast on the roof for the view and the amazing free - range eggs who's yolk colour is the darkest yellow I've ever seen.

The Hotel Forum is ideally located, and the rooftop restaurant and bar provide great visuals of central Rome, but the property is generally under-maintained and poorly managed and run. The front desk staff is dismissive (if not rude) and generally not helpful. The entire property needs a coat of fresh paint and the hallways and rooms are decidedly "musty". A great location isn't enough to get me/us to return. I would not recommend this property. It needs a serious overhaul in customer servi... Read more

Somewhat disappointing. Location--directly across from the Forum--was excellent. Our room and bathroom were good-sized, and we enjoyed opening our window that overlooked the Forum. However, the hotel itself felt tired. More than that, however, we were disappointed with the service. Other than the person who checked us in, the front desk staff were inattentive, and seemed annoyed by our slightest questions or requests. We visited Tuscany and Umbria, and stayed at Hotel Lancelot on our retu... Read more

My husband and I encountered a problem with our luggage before arriving at the hotel because of a change in our initial flight from the US. The concierges were very professional upon arrival and 1 concierge in particular helped us immensely the day after we arrived. His name is Giacomo. We explained our circumstance to him of having not received our luggage, the phone number given to us by the airline, and the expected day of arrival of the luggage from the airport. Unfortunately the luggage... Read more

We recently stayed at the Hotel Forum Roma and was pleasantly surprised as to the great location and wonderful accommodations. Usually with an older Hotel the rooms and accommodations reflect the age of the facility. Not in this case. The courteous staff and roomy accommodations made this place a real gem. Highly recommended.

You can see the Colloseum from the roof terrace and overlook the fiori imperioli. Absolutely stunning views and in the centre of everything. Very refined hotel with excellent friendly staff. Not the quietest of rooms, 2nd floor ovetlooks a small street with a few restaurants and bars on it but a small price to pay for the spectacular views and convenience. Many restaurants and hostarias atound the hotel to suit all pockets. The terrace restaurant at the hotel a little pricey but you pay for the ... Read more

I stayed at this hotel with my mother, with location being a large priority to give easy access to sights without her having to do too much walking. For location, this was perfect. Very close to the forum, Colosseum, and the altare della patria - with it's large collection of taxis, though they are happy to call you one there directly any time. We took a taxi from the main train station due to heat and luggage, but it would be easily walkable as well. The neighborhood was safe and busy, with ... Read more

Very well presented hotel but on a deceptively busy road. Had a problem withour room which took a while to resolve but very pleased with the alternative. The double glazing is excellent which is a necessity as outside noise can be quite loud. Excellent roof top terrace for breakfast with amazing views. The breakfast choice is extremely good and staff very helpful and efficient. I would recommend this hotel

The Hotel Forum is right next to the historic Forum area of Rome (our room looked out over it) and is a few minute's walk from the Coliseum, with easy access to the rest of Rome via the metro station. Their wonderful 'American Bar' on the roof allows you to watch the sun go down over this amazing historical area. The staff were amazing and helpful and we ate in their roof top restaurant which was mainly busy with locals, which is always a good sign. The food was excellent.

When you visit Rome the thing that matters is being close to the history and culture. This hotel is as good as it gets in that respect, being a short stroll away from the Colloseum and the Forum. Right in the heart of the Eternal City. Our room was not large. (If you'd tried to swing a cat, I don't think it would have survived!). However, it was clean, the linen was changed regularly, and we were comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing (tinned fruit - really?!), and limited cooked choice. The s... Read more

I stayed at the hotel for a long weekend in September 2016. The hotel is in a great location minutes from the Colosseum and Forum. The hotel is a very good base and it is easy to get to all the tourist haunts from it. My stay was very comfortable. The room was small but charming. The hotel lobby was very quaint. The staff on reception were efficient and helpful. The service at the American Bar was poor. I arrived at the bar for pre-dinner drinks at around 8.30pm. The bar was empty and so... Read more
