Congratulation for all the members of the stuff (especially Elena and her romanian colleague deserving the kitchen), who were very friendly and helpful! The hotel is very clear all during the day, the rooms are big enough, sunny and classily (I enjoyed the peintures all over the walls), the food was perfect and impeccable served. This hotel is a quiet spot despite the central position (10 min by foot to the Terminal bus station). What should I say? We felt excellent. Thank you, guys! Last but ... Read more

First of all, what previous People wrote here already: The location of this Hotel is good. Very good. From Roma Termini station you walk between 7-8 Minutes until you reach this place. Also, yes - The Hotel des Artistes is the right place for you, if you don't want to spend too much money. The room was very clean - and so was the bathroom as well. The interior looks pretty nice and cozy. However, in the 3 days that I stayed there, I found that the majority of the Staff at the Reception was rathe... Read more

After a short walk from the train station, found this hotel pretty easily. Need to specify, I had a room. Private room and bathroom. I guess there are hostel rooms at this place also. Check-in was easy enough with helpful staff. After the tiny showers of Venice and Florence, I appreciated the extra square foot or so of shower space. Also liked that this hotel had charging outlets of various sizes - 110v, 220v, USB, etc. Also, relatively quiet stay aside from the restaurant/bar across the street... Read more

Pros: close to everything, very friendly and helpful staff and speak English, continental breakfast was great! Cons: shower is so small you can barely fit in in, air conditioning only works during high season

I stayed two nights solo recently. The front reception lady was so helpful. After checking me in she explained the neighbourhood. Gave me a list of recommended restaurants. My room was as described. Two single beds making one double. WIFI was available at euro a night. It was incredibly slow to be non-existent. There is free WIFI till midnight on the fifth floor where there is a shared space for guests. The bathroom is clean, the shower one is quite small, but I have been in smaller ones. The ... Read more

I was a female solo traveller and enjoyed much the hostel. It was cheap, but still very nice. I payed 85 euros/4 night in 2 bed bedroom. I had the roomie all the time. I got sick and needed antibiotics during my trip. The personnel of hotel were sorry for me and told me I need to rest and drink much water and soda (of course I was eager to go see tourist attractions, but fortunately the staff wanted me to get better :)). I'll come to visit Rome later and this hostel as well! Thank you, staff... Read more

Nice clean room with friendly, helpful staff. A good location as only 5 mins from the Termini. Good facilities for a budget hotel, but you would pay twice the amount in London for an equivalent. A quiet area with restaurants close by.

I was in a 3-bed shared hostel room and (quite honestly) it was a little weird. The beds are all close to each other so you don't have much privacy. Also, it's a bit noisy outside but does die down later.

This was our fourth visit to Des Artistes. As usual, we were more than pleased with our stay. The front desk had to offer us a smaller room for our first night, but were given a larger room of our choosing for the rest of our stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. A wonderful budget hotel in a very convenient area in Rome. Number of good, reasonably priced restaurants nearby.

Room was clean, safe, easy, with a good television(tons of channels) but unfortunately not really what I was looking for. Wifi whilst available was very slow and the hostel was full with older travellers and families. Whilst the location is convenient for termini station for travel, it is fairly out of the way relative to the main tourist attractions. Couldn't find any bars nearby, but that is more indicative of Italian culture than this hostels location. Only bar I found was 'Scholars Irish Bar... Read more

Great hotel. Loved the style of the room, which was of a decent size and clean. Breakfast was ok, although the breakfast area lacked atmosphere. People really just ate their food and went on with their day as soon as they finished. Only reason not to give this hotel 5 stars is its location (nearby Termini, not really the nicest area to have your hotel), and the fact that the receptionists speak zero English. We had some troubles but weren't able to communicate at all.

This was a great place. Value for money, clean, beautiful, great staff, helpful, in a great spot for access to the rest of the city and safe. Nice few restaurants around and close to the stations. I went with my friend and had a lovely twin room with comfy, clean beds and on the first night we were cold and shared a huge duvet as there was only one. The next night the cleaners had changed the bedding for warmer duvets and a blanket without us asking as we forgot. Juat little things like that mak... Read more

Have stayed here multiple times. I have stayed alone and with up to 7 people. Sometimes all of us in one hotel, others in sister hotels very close by. Have always had great rooms and prices. Easy to get to and from especially with luggage. Close to transportation, great market close by. Plan to return in Nov.

Nicely furnished rooms, cute little balcony. It's in a convenient location, walkable to/from train station. Has a decent breakfast. Check out the rooftop terrace. Staff can be a little too business-like but were definitely helpful.

Hotel is located close to Termini station so best suited for people who are on the move. Everything works very well. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. The mattress is the best we have slept on.

My girlfriend and I booked two beds within a three bed room. Upon check in we were told that since we arrived late, around 4pm, that we would now be in separate rooms. I was informed terms and conditions did state we were not guaranteed to be in the same room. After asking if there was any option to stay in the same room, we were told we would need to pay more to stay in a private which we did. The room itself was basic with a shared bathroom. The bathroom itself was quite dirty and the paid... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and 3 nights. Upon arrival at the hotel we were told that the hotel was overbooked and although we paid for a room with private bathroom and air condition, they only had a non air conditioned room with shared bathrooms available for the first night. I was upset at first but the lady at the front desk, who was very friendly and helpful, refunded us $25 euros for the room difference and gave us a bottle of wine along with free wifi and water bottles. The next day ... Read more

I'd say this hotel offers great value. The rooms are spotless with linen changed every day if you so wish. We found the reception staff very courteous and welcoming and I'm a little puzzled by the comment a few posts down that the reception staff 'spoke no English'. Seriously, that would be just unthinkable for a hotel catering for foreign tourists. About 8mins walk to the main transport hub in Rome, Termini station, and a metro stop right round the corner. There's a bar right across the street ... Read more

Very convenient. Close to 2 metro stations. Safe to walk to at night. Friendly staff. Computer use and printing, wifi use but at a price. Bathrooms were not as expected but not bad, plenty of fresh towels and luggage storage facilities! Would stay there again!

We were on a city break in Rome and we've decided to go to Des Artistes. The hotel was really great with a very good value for your money. It is well located and you can reach a metro station in a matter of minutes. The centre of Rome is easily accessed from there The room was nice and clean, much better than a typical 3* hotel. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and we will surely return when in Rome.
