Congratulation for all the members of the stuff (especially Elena and her romanian colleague deserving the kitchen), who were very friendly and helpful! The hotel is very clear all during the day, the rooms are big enough, sunny and classily (I enjoyed the peintures all over the walls), the food was perfect and impeccable served. This hotel is a quiet spot despite the central position (10 min by foot to the Terminal bus station). What should I say? We felt excellent. Thank you, guys! Last but ... Read more

First of all, what previous People wrote here already: The location of this Hotel is good. Very good. From Roma Termini station you walk between 7-8 Minutes until you reach this place. Also, yes - The Hotel des Artistes is the right place for you, if you don't want to spend too much money. The room was very clean - and so was the bathroom as well. The interior looks pretty nice and cozy. However, in the 3 days that I stayed there, I found that the majority of the Staff at the Reception was rathe... Read more

After a short walk from the train station, found this hotel pretty easily. Need to specify, I had a room. Private room and bathroom. I guess there are hostel rooms at this place also. Check-in was easy enough with helpful staff. After the tiny showers of Venice and Florence, I appreciated the extra square foot or so of shower space. Also liked that this hotel had charging outlets of various sizes - 110v, 220v, USB, etc. Also, relatively quiet stay aside from the restaurant/bar across the street... Read more

I stayed two nights solo recently. The front reception lady was so helpful. After checking me in she explained the neighbourhood. Gave me a list of recommended restaurants. My room was as described. Two single beds making one double. WIFI was available at euro a night. It was incredibly slow to be non-existent. There is free WIFI till midnight on the fifth floor where there is a shared space for guests. The bathroom is clean, the shower one is quite small, but I have been in smaller ones. The ... Read more

I was a female solo traveller and enjoyed much the hostel. It was cheap, but still very nice. I payed 85 euros/4 night in 2 bed bedroom. I had the roomie all the time. I got sick and needed antibiotics during my trip. The personnel of hotel were sorry for me and told me I need to rest and drink much water and soda (of course I was eager to go see tourist attractions, but fortunately the staff wanted me to get better :)). I'll come to visit Rome later and this hostel as well! Thank you, staff... Read more

Nice clean room with friendly, helpful staff. A good location as only 5 mins from the Termini. Good facilities for a budget hotel, but you would pay twice the amount in London for an equivalent. A quiet area with restaurants close by.

I was in a 3-bed shared hostel room and (quite honestly) it was a little weird. The beds are all close to each other so you don't have much privacy. Also, it's a bit noisy outside but does die down later.

This was our fourth visit to Des Artistes. As usual, we were more than pleased with our stay. The front desk had to offer us a smaller room for our first night, but were given a larger room of our choosing for the rest of our stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. A wonderful budget hotel in a very convenient area in Rome. Number of good, reasonably priced restaurants nearby.

Room was clean, safe, easy, with a good television(tons of channels) but unfortunately not really what I was looking for. Wifi whilst available was very slow and the hostel was full with older travellers and families. Whilst the location is convenient for termini station for travel, it is fairly out of the way relative to the main tourist attractions. Couldn't find any bars nearby, but that is more indicative of Italian culture than this hostels location. Only bar I found was 'Scholars Irish Bar... Read more

Great hotel. Loved the style of the room, which was of a decent size and clean. Breakfast was ok, although the breakfast area lacked atmosphere. People really just ate their food and went on with their day as soon as they finished. Only reason not to give this hotel 5 stars is its location (nearby Termini, not really the nicest area to have your hotel), and the fact that the receptionists speak zero English. We had some troubles but weren't able to communicate at all.

I was informed terms and conditions did state we were not guaranteed to be in the same room. I'd say this hotel offers great value. The rooms are spotless with linen changed every day if you so wish. We found the reception staff very courteous and welcoming and I'm a little puzzled by the comment a few posts down that the reception staff 'spoke no English'. We were on a city break in Rome and we've decided to go to Des Artistes. The hotel was really great with a very good value for your money. A very nice hostel to stay in. When we entered, we thought its a nice 3 star hotel and thought maybe we are at the wrong address. The rooms were spacious, bathrooms were really clean but there was only one problem. Wifi was paid in the room. And free in the common area on 5th floor. But they used to close the common room at 23h30. It got really annoying as we came back late and didn't have the wifi to look for things to do the next morning.
