Had the opportunity to again visit Rome (on our way to Florence) and stayed with the Hotel Cosmopolita for the second time. If anything, the second time was better as the staff were again very helpful and understanding of an Australian who does not speak their language. Asked for a large double room and ended up with a bedroom and sitting room. Costs were reasonable and the location cannot be beaten. Hotel Cosmopolita, thanks for a great couple of nights, it was a pleasure.

Just a short walk from the ancient ruins of Rome, this hotel is ideally situated for walking almost anywhere in the city, including amazing restaurants. We even found the walk to the Vatican (1.5 miles) quite enjoyable. In addition to its great location, this hotel provides exceptional service. The staff are courteous and friendly and anxious to make your stay perfect. Be sure to ask them to arrange your transport to the airport - it is by far the best deal in town at 52 euros for the 50-minut... Read more

It's an old hotel and could do with a revamp. Our room was clean but not large and no easy chairs. Tv is pay on demand so if you decide to stay in it will cost you . On the front good views but very noisy .Clean sheets every day which we found very nice . Reception staff were very helpful and pleasant . Breakfast was more than sufficient. On the whole a nice stay in a very central location in Rome.Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

This hotel really is in the most perfect location for your stay in Rome! We could walk to the Colosseum within 10 minutes, our room had views of the top of the Piazza Venezia which could be reached with a 2 minute walk, and both the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain can be reached within a 20-30 minutes walk! When we arrived at the hotel, we were provided with a map and the front desk staff highlighted key walking routes to all the main locations... Keep hold of this map, it will be your bible through... We got to the hotel and the staff were unwelcoming and very rude. We got to our room and our TV would not work so we told someone and they just said okay like they did not care. So the next day we told someone else that was very nice and she sent a men up to our room straight away and he fixed it. The wallpaper was ripped and there was dirt on the walls. There is no view and not much sun came throw the window. I will never stay here again.

The position of this Hotel is 4 Star and that is where this rating ends. We chose the Hotel because of the roof top balcony which is advertised on their site but upon arrival we were advised that it was being renovated. I see that this has been occurring for 4 years and so this is false advertising. This Hotel is rated 4 star and if it wishes to pitch its services to westerners then tea and coffee facilities are a mimimum, even 2 star rated properties have this service, but there wasn't even a k... The location is great, just steps away from the Ruins. The staff was helpful but the room was very dark, the a/c didn't work very well and the beds weren't very comfortable. Every other hotel we stayed in during our two week France/Italy trip provided complimentary water but not this one. The prices for water and snacks were ridiculous (over 4 Euros for a kit kat bar!). The bathroom is tiny. The restaurant was fair,\; once we overslept and had to pay for breakfast and we got burned scrambled egg... Read more

The location of this hotel is excellent and would recommend if location is important to you as within walking distance to everything. The actual hotel itself was pretty poor, we had problems with the flooring in our room which was broken in places. Internet access not very good, there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room and breakfast was an additional cost which we did not take up. Very expensive hotel to stay in for the facilities that are available. The maid service however was good.

All buildings in Rome are old so you kind of expect a bit of age but I'm not sure the rooms needed to be this tiny. Definitely only one person in the bathroom at a time. Bed was only a double size and mattress quite hard. With a husband that is 190cm, this made it feel really small. Also, no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom was provided so I had to go out and buy some. I thought 4 star hotels had to provide at least that. There are no tea/coffee making facilities but I'm realising this ... Read more

We have a standard for hotel to be 4 stars or not. This hotel was small, had only 1 small/narrow elevator for guests, the floor had many single-stairs so it's quite difficult to pull our luggages. The room was darker than we expected. The view was our neighbour's window. The furniture was old, the bathroom was very small, there was only 1 broken trash bin in our room. Firstly, this hotel is in a great location within easy walk of the Coliseum, Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps. A taxi ride to the Vatican museum was less than 15 Euro. The hotel itself was fairly basic, with rooms on the small side and no onsite restaurant or bar and no in-room coffee. The breakfast area was also small and the selection was limited. Wi-fi was free, but strength and speed was spotty in our room. Staff were generally friendly and helpful.

This place is ideal for location. It's walking distance from all the major sites, restaurants and transportation. It's a basic hotel that gives you the necessities for your stay and nothing more. The location is great. But there were several steps and stairs here and there (between lobby and the elevator; inside the hotel room) make it very difficult to roll luggages. Unless you move the night stands and unplug the lamps, the only outlet to charge your phone is in the bathroom. Some rooms were tiny, AC unit in our room was not working properly. I honestly don't even have words for how great this hotel is! We have traveled several countries in Europe and this has been by far the best. The hotel is well located in the city. Within walking distance to everything. The Vatican is the furthest but it's still within 30 minutes of walking. It is a very large room. We have been in cracker boxes this trip in Paris and London and room to move around has been great! The bed is comfortable. Bathroom has counter space for toiletries. Shower head has... Read more

My husband and I came to Rome for 2 weeks on our honeymoon, staying at the Cosmopolita Hotel for 13 days. We could not be more pleased with the hotel. The location is perfect. It is walking distance to everything Rome has to offer. The front desk staff were very helpful from the moment we arrived- they would call taxis for us, give us directions, maps, they even helped us arrange a car to take us back to the airport for our flight home! Everything was well kept, and we always felt very safe. We ... Read more

Central location was great, 1 guy at the desk made for a loooooong wait to check in. Room with view of neighboring Basilica was pretty, general front desk helpful but not friendly, room small but clean- full sized bed or the room would have been tiny, cooler not a fridge in room and really didn't work. Concur with previous reviewer -- no where to hang things, room on humid side too. Lamp had stain from people hanging things on it. Bed fine but we like a firm bed. Will do airbnb next time I thi... The hotel is well located and within walking distance to everything. But get ready to walk in Italy! My legs were killing me the first couple of days! The bed was comfortable, especially when compared to our hotel bed in Florence! Bathroom was big, had counter space and was modern. Shower had great water pressure, with a 1/2 a glass door. The mirror had a spot where it didn't fog up from the steam which was so nice! Breakfast was an extra $7 per person. We did this once, but they had a pretty bi... Read more

My fiancé and I loved our suite that was comp for us for two wonderful nights. The room was incredible plus the view was so astonishing. Only complaint was that the Slots could of been looser. Our stay at Cosmo saved our 5 day trip to Vegas!!!

Lovely large room and the location is fantastic. We walked everywhere the furthest being to Vatican city which only took about 30 minutes! 10-15 minutes tops to the pantheon and trevi fountain. Colleseum is just down the road. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel however the roof top terrace was turned into a wine bar on the Friday night which was lovely. Our bathroom was very small and even though the room was cleaned daily it did smell a little on our day of departure.

We spent three nights at this well located hotel. We were in reasonable walking distance to the Colosseum, the Forum, Palatine Hill, other attractions, restaurants and shopping. The gentlemen who checked us in was efficient and delightful with a great sense of humor. Our room did not have a nice view but it was nicely furnished and very clean. It was fine for us because we spent most of our time away from the hotel sight-seeing. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well-lit and moder... Read more

Like many travellers' reports before, it is the location that is the principal attraction, very close to the principal sights of Rome. Our room was small but clean and with a very comfortable bed. Its probably a 3* rather than a 4* (INMO) however, that said, we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days here. The breakfast was served in an attractive roof top restaurant with views over the City. The food whilst not the greatest was certainly acceptable with scrambled eggs and bacon, boiled eggs, croissants b... Read more

Very nice clean hotel with nice spacious rooms! Ideal if you are looking to sight see as it is pretty much a 2 minute walk to the main attractions! However would not recommend the buffet breakfast but the cafe attached to the restaurant was impressive!

We spent our entire trip in Rome at this hotel. The location was amazing - we were 15 minutes away from the Trevi Foundation and shopping centers, 20 minutes away from the Colosseum,10 minutes Uber ride from the Vatican, and 30 minutes drive from the airport (FCO). Aside from the location, the rooms were nice but small. I'm a pretty small person but the shower made me feel claustrophobic and the bed wasn't comfortable at all. In addition, don't expect to have access to room service. There is a m... Read more

Pros: Great location - in the heart of Rome Good rates Nice staff Clean room/hotel Cons: Super small room - photos misleading Breakfast wasn't great for the price Overall, the hotel was perfect for access to all major sites in Rome with friendly staff.

The location is amazing, 5 minutes walk from Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was basic but had everything we needed for a short stay, room was on the small side but we weren't there much so it didn't really bother us. Wifi worked well, didn't even need to log in to use it. Rooms aren't soundproofed so it did get a little noisy at times but it never kept us awake. Hairdryer in room was old and a bit useless, but it's fine for shorter hair. Overall we... Read more

very nice hotel in perfect location for the colliseum and many other attractions. Room was spotless and had everything needed, tv , internet ,minibar and nice bathroom. The breakfast was 7,50 euros and i would recommend it as a good way to start the day at a good price. from cereal to fruit to cooked bacon and eggs, you can eat as much as you want which was a bonus in this very expensive city. Also the bar restaurant downstairs offered good value with a cappucino at 1,20 which is probably the che... Read more
