Hotel Barberini was a great find for a short break in Rome. It is a small hotel (approx. 35 rooms) in the Barberini area of Rome - about a 10 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain (up/down a small hill) and within 30 min walk of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill etc (up/down a longer hill). There is an easy to use metro/subway station in the area if people would prefer to use that than to walk. The room we had was a good size for a city centre room, and kept spotlessly clean by the staff. Breakfast... Read more

My Mum, sister & I have just returned from a 3 night stay at Hotel Barbarini. Firstly even though 3 adults were booked into a junior suite, the hotel only accommodated for 2 - two sets of towels, 2 key cards, 2 robes and the bed wasn't made up for the 3rd person. The bath leaked BADLY after every shower and it was evident from the water marks on the carpet outside the bathroom that this was an on-going issue, which the hotel staff told us couldn't be looked at until after the weekend - I gues... Located in the ideal place of not exactly in the center but at the same time central - 10 minutes away from the Fontana di Trevi and very near churches, museums, restaurants and metro. Small but clean and comfortable rooms. Good breakfast and food in the spectacular roof restaurant and strong WiFi. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Having stayed at this Hotel several years ago, my family eagerly looked forward to our return visit. We were disappointed. Our return was lukewarm. Seldom were we greeted on arrival or departure during our seven days. It was like you were invisible even though staff was at the front desk. I think only twice in our comings and goings were we greeted. During our stay, construction work was being done in a building next door. We were awakened each morning to hammering and chiseling. We underst... Read more

We had 2 days to explore as much of Rome as possible. This hotel met our requirements perfectly: 1. Close to the main attractions. 2. Reasonable price during the winter season. 3. Comfortable Sleep at night. This is a nice hotel. Staff were friendly. The rooms are a little small. But we were in Rome. Who wants to spend time in a hotel room when you only have 2 days in Rome ? :) We would stay here again.

We spent two nights at the hotel and we loved all the accommodations they offered. However if you plan to use the spa bring bathing suit and massage requests must be made a day in advance. I loved the view and all the tours and bus options to choose from. We just did a 48 hour hop on hop off and catch the bus at the barberini Plaza. There is one thing I wish they would improve is their vegetables they serve for dinner. I mean it was healthy but it tasted like all they did was pull it out of a fr... Read more

The hotel is in an ideal position and can walk to all sites, even the Vatican which takes 40 minutes at a steady pace. I had booked a 5 night stay over the New Year and booked their 28 euro dinner plan for both New Years Eve and Day. Upon arrival we were immediately re-located to another hotel for one night due to an alleged electrical problem. The following day upon arrival we were told that the 28 euro meal was not available because it was New Years Eve and it would cost 130 euros each, this w... Read more

Myself and a group of friends stayed here for five nights over new year. We booked the junior suite which was a beautiful room but a little on the smaller side for four people. The room and bathroom was very clean and decorated beautifully. We asked for four prosecco glasses to take to our room as we were going to open a bottle of prosecco on New Year's Eve. Room service kindly provided these but knocked on our door 45 minutes later and asked were we finished which we found a little rude. We ask... Read more

The hotel is very centrally located, a big advantage in a city like Rome where you do a lot of walking. Our room was small but clean. A little noisy since it was on the 1st floor. The breakfast was quite adequate. We had the chance to have a dinner and it was excellent, real value for yr money,(28$ for the full menu) The bathroom probably was not designed by an Italian since Italians outperform in design. And the lobby was quite cold which made sitting there almost impossible. In short I would ... Read more

Great location, clean friendly hotel, and a great base to explore Rome. A hotel can only be rated by the attitude of their staff. From the front desk, through the restaurant, to the cleaners, all were excellent.
