Just returned from Rome in April and we stayed at the Hotel Art by the Spanish Steps. The hotel location was perfect. We were able to walk to most attractions, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Colosseum which was about 1.5 miles. Just to name a few. Itâ??s great to walk ,perfect way to explore and see Rome. The hotel itself is very nice. Itâ??s on a beautiful quiet street. The art work and decorations is terrific. The stay came with free breakfast which was absolutely delicious. The roo... Read more

This hotel has an excellent location. The breakfast is very good and the service is equivalent to that of a five star hotel. It is situated in a quiet street but at the same time it is a stone throw away from the Spanish Steps, the Trevi fountain and Piazza del Popolo. It is ideal for shopping because the famous Via Condotti is 2 minutes away.

Great location of the hotel near the Spanish steps. Clean. Rooms OK. Breakfast basic but OK. We booked directly with the hotel and felt that it was very expensive. Hotels nearby seemed to be somewhat cheaper.

We stayed there for a few days and the whole experience was good: attentive service, nice breakfast, cool decor, very convenient and quiet location. The rooms are rather small and some of the details are not up to standards that you'd expect. Overall very happy about the experience so that I've booked it again next month that will be in the area for a few more days.

This hotel is right by the Spanish Steps in a small quiet street among bars and shops. Its an oasis in the middle of Rome, so peaceful and quiet. Hotel staff were fantastic from arrival to departure, very attentive and helpful. Our rooms were not quite ready so we were given a lovely glass of prosecco whilst we waited. Rooms on each floor correspond to the colour of the corridor and be prepared..........they are bright and fun. Rooms were immaculate, every need catered for and quite spacious... Read more

The location is great, the staff is good and helpful. The rooms are way over priced. Paid 520 for a suite which was 250 to much for what it is. No art, room old and stark, placed two twin mattress on queen frame, so edges hung over over. No head board, Bathroom small, no air conditioning in bath room or halls or elevator, they use minimaless design but really just a way to go cheap. Not a decoration any place. We stayed here for 6 nights during our first visit to Rome. Located in an extremely safe neighborhood and on one of Rome's prettiest back streets, the street itself must have some history as one end of it was frequently visited by a local tour guide and their groups. Nestled in among designer boutique shops this converted Convent offers a small lounge / bar area, which also serves as the room for breakfast in the morning. Others found this to be less than satisfactory, but I personally couldn't ... Read more

This is the second time we have stayed at Hotel Art and we find the location a big plus when staying here. The staff are always ready to assist and make your stay more pleasurable. The rooms as most in Rome are modest and the air conditioning is not adjustable from the room but you have to contact the front desk to get it adjusted, yes a bit antiquated. Also on this trip our room smelt of smoke so make sure to ask for your peference. Breakfast is great and well catered for with all the coldcuts,... Read more

We stayed there for five nights. The location is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are of a modest size, though the bathrooms are very small. One down side is that the AC cannot be adjusted from the room. It is adjustable by front desk only.

500 meters from the Spanish Steps (Piazza di Spagna), which offers just about the best of Rome. Directly at the piazza you have the upmarket designer shops, a lot of restaurants and on top of the steps you find a large park and the Belvedere. The hotel itself is in a street with limited traffic, hence very quiet. This is the second time we visited this hotel. Not much has changed, although some wear and tear is noticeable. View from the rooms is usually nothing worth mentioning, but one can slee... Read more

The location could not better. This hotel is in the heart of the historic center, a breath's distance away from Piazza di Spagna. Yet in the center, the surrounding silence of this pretty little street, makes you feel as though you're on the outskirts of a small village. Quite, cozy, clean and good service.

This hotel is located close to a lot of sight-seeings and boutiques, but at a very quite side street. The staff is very nice and helpful. The brunch is really good plus you get great coffee. Our room was fresh and stylish, although the shower was a little clogged. All in all a very nice hotel I'll gladly return to.

We arrived to the hotel at night after a long day of traveling. We called in advance to make sure everything is okay with our reservation (we booked 3 rooms), however when we arrived, we were astonished to learn that they reserved only one room. We were offered to keep one room and get two additional rooms in a different hotel, a few blocks away. Needless to say we refused this "kind" offer. Had a great stay at the Hotel Art,lovely small boutique hotel, lots of shopping and good restaurants within walking distance. About 5 minutes walk to Spanish Steps and about 12 minutes walk to hop on and hop off stop. Watch for touts at airport do not accept transfers from people who are trying to rip you off as they can be very pervasive and aggressive to get you to go with them. Use a taxi or organise your agent to organize transfer for you.

A very interesting hotel tucked away in quiet via Margutta. The street is quiet and very pretty. It is an art area and during our three days we saw some remarkable bronze statues along the street. It is also close to the Spanish steps and via Barbuini, piazza del popolo. In fact everything is within a short walking distance. The shopping is spectacular, the sights second to none. Hotel Art by the Spanish Steps is in a great location within a much-too-easy walk of the main shopping streets of Rome. The rooms are not large but are comfortably fitted with good showers. The colour coordination by floor comes along the corridors and into the bathrooms - 3rd floor was orange! Not for those upset by bright colours. Very good breakfast and helpful staff. A good value hotel in a medium-price bracket.

For a Deluxe room the area is small but the hotel has a charm of its own that comes from its location in a hidden street with small local business but very close to the heart of Rome. Overall the staff is professional but misses some of the warmth of Italy and in a country where food is a national tradition the restaurant menu is very "light". Still a nice place to stay if the period is not extended.

Hotel art has beautiful common areas - the entry and foyer are superb. It's on a gorgeous little street that is so typically Roman. The rooms are a little poky and I had trouble with the a/c in the middle of summer - only to be told I had to inform the front desk to turn it on. The breakfast was divine but the staff always wanted to clear it away early.

Nice clean hotel- Small rooms despite that I paid for the "larger" one and needed to make sure they had complied. Still not sure which one I was given. For a short person difficult to reach towels- really! Noisy between floors and rooms- they need to work on that. Appealing breakfast in a nice setting. Hot one night and controls for a/c are at the front desk- called twice and it was still hot. Other nights had been fine so this was annoying. Desk staff aloof although this may just be Rome.

Stayed here, for the first time, with a travel companion in mid-September. A block from the Spanish Steps (under renovation during our stay), in the high-end shopping district. The property is modern and clean, brightly colored; the staff professional and helpful. We visited in September and found this a welcome retreat from the crowds but still in the centre of things. Having read the reviews, we were expecting an above average breakfast for a continental hotel and we were not disappointed! The staff were all very helpful. The ambience is smart but relaxed and there are several good restaurants within strolling distance. Would stay here again if we come back to Rome.
