Our stay at this hotel was short lived for a long weekend. However, the hotel was very nice and clean with excellent service from the staff who spoke English. We were situated in a room that over looked a popular spot for runners which was interesting and the rooftop was very nice with a bar. The nearest bus stop is about 3 minute walk with the metro card only costing 8 euros which can be purchased from local shops. This card allows you to take any buses or the metro trains for a one price purch... Read more

We stayed ere with a Trafalgar tour. It was in a nice neighborhood. The rooms were fine. It is not too far from the Vatican. There are some nice neighborhood restaurants nearby. It is far from the center of Rome, but it does have a shuttle.

Hardest beds I have ever tried to sleep on. I was told the beds were brand new but that doesn't make them any softer. Good breakfast provided in the morning. But that didn't make up for the hard beds. Did I mention the beds were hard? When the beds are that hard, that's all you can rememberš???

The Grand Tiberio was a good hotel for a visit to Rome. While close to the Vatican it is not an easy walk to or from. There is a train station close by and is easy to use. The hotel has a shuttle to the center of Rome, but it does not run often. use the train to the metro. The hotel is clean, the staff cordial and breakfasts more than adequate. Other reviewers have mentioned the beds are hard. Yes, the beds are hard. The hotel is fine.

My husband and I stayed here in a tour and for a budget price lodging, there were a lot of pluses- Rooms and baths are recently remodeled and very clean. Good water pressure in the bath. Our bathroom room had a bidet and a sink large enough to wash an infant. There was a large wardrobe with ample hangers and a safe. Room was also quiet ( other than the sound of neighbors toilet). Staff was all very nice and hotel is walkable to good locals only restaurants. They will also arrange an airport pick... Read more

This hotel was presented to us as on the same level as a Waldorf Astoria property. Having stayed at several Waldorf properties, I booked here for 2 nights. The room was roomy and clean. The lobby was clean, and had plenty of seating areas, tv , bar, restaurant. A continental breakfast was offered with breads, yogurt, fruit, eggs , cheese, meats, coffee, and teas. The breads were not fresh, but frozen and defrosted, but the breakfast served its purpose for us to have coffee in the morning. The ba... Read more

We stayed for two nights at the end if May 2016. My mom and I were traveling with my two children -- 19 and 12 -- and since we were upgraded to a mini-suite, my son was able to have his own room. Breakfast is complimentary -- and while you could probably find something better elsewhere, the buffet gave us a chance to fuel up on bacon, eggs, cereal, pastry and lots of coffee before heading out. The shuttle to and from the Vatican allowed us enough time to see the Vatican Museums, have lunch (pr... Read more

Booked through secret escapes as a multi-centre trip. The hotel was very clean and welcoming. The distance from the city was a bit of a pain as it was a train ride and a walk. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, lots of carbs, pasta, bread etc. Was looking forward to a cooked breakfast. Overall a nice hotel for a busy city break in Rome.

Just back from a week touring italy. Landed in Rome and stayed at the Tiberio for two nights. Friendly and helpful staff , comfortably, no frills 4 star. Rooms were clean and comfortable, if a little dated. Had a nice meal in the restaurant and breakfast was fine. It was good value for Rome and would stay again. Reasons for us booking was proximity to the sights, free car parking and genrally good reviews. Other things to consider having stayed are that it is in a residential area up a fairly... Read more

The room was ok. The view wasn't bad. The bad part of this room was that the flush didn't work. They came and fixed it once but when we got home that afternoon it didn't work again... The bed was also superhard and my back was hurting a lot after that. The worst part of this hotel was the breakfast! I have had a lot of hotel breakfasts, but this one took the price for the worst one. 1. Because the food wasn't fresh at all. And they didn't have a lot to offer. 2. The people that worked at the b... Read more

We booked this hotel in Rome because it seemed to be close to everything and provided transportation. When we arrived we found that although they did offer transportation it was limited. It only ran on scheduled trips and could only hold 6 people, so if you didn't reserve it before other guests you couldn't use it. We didn't use it for the entire trip. It also said in the hotel description that it was only a 20 minute walk to Vatican City, it took us between 30 and 45 minutes to make the w... Read more

Very friendly service throughout our stay. Lovely steak meal when we arrived...... try the black russian, it's super potent. Breakfast is more continental however scrambled rubbery eggs and stewed bacon were available. The room was small but adequate for our 4 day stay. Clean and updated decor. No beautiful view of the city as I expected, just onto other hotel rooms. Woken in the early hours by a dustcart and delivery vans clanging and crashing. When we got off the train, we were in the middle of a neighborhood. I was a bit worried until we saw the charming hotel nestled into among the apartment buildings. The hotel was fresh and updated and quaint. Air conditioning worked very well. Bed was hard, but I find that in many hotels in Europe. Bathroom was en suite, not large but not tiny either. This hotel is very nice considering that when you're staying in Italy on a moderate budget, you learn not to expect much. The lobby and hotel grounds are clean and attractive. The hotel and rooms are well air-conditioned. The staff was always very helpful. The daily breakfast is the most disappointing part of the stay. It wasn't much, but I've learned that's the norm in Italy. A nice little incentive is the pool. Although small and it has the liner exposed, it was refreshing and clean. Trust me ... Read more

The hotel was a nice clean hotel, but it was far from the old center of town. No place to eat or sightseeing within walking distance. Had to take a cab to go to the center of Rome. Rooms were noisy, especially when toilets were flushed in adjacent rooms. Not the place to stay if you want to be close to the action. Although it is a non-smoking hotel, we had to ask for another room because our room reeked of cigarettes smoke.

If you wish to be close to the attractions of Rome-i.e. the city centre, the Vatican, the Collosseum, the Forum-then this hotel is not for you-it is far away from those tourist sights. There is little to see within walking distance of this hotel. It is situated in one of the residential areas of Rome and takes some travelling (which could work out to be very expensive) to get to see this city. So choose carefully. On its merits-the hotel is very clean, has courteous staff, reasonable rooms (some... Read more

This is a late review. I stayed with my wife for 5 nights on December 2011. The rooms were clean and spacious, but nothing really special. Room decoration was limited. Bathroom was clean. The worst part was the soundproof. You could really hear everything that happens at the rooms of the floor above. The breakfast was continental, nothing really special. It is situated near the Vatican. You should take the bus, in order to get to the metro or you can walk 15 minutes down hill.

Stayed here in March for a 5-day break to Rome with my boyfriend. We booked the trip last minute and were initially concerned with how far away from the 'buzz' of Rome the hotel seemed to be. However, the hotel offered a free transfer service to both Vatican City and the main centre of Rome each morning, plus it was just around the corner from a bus-stop with buses every 10 minutes, so it wasn't a problem for us at all. We stayed here for two nights in the middle of August at the end of our roadtrip through Italy. The hotel is charming and classy, and lies in a quiet neighbourhood within walking distance to the Vatican and city center. As it offers free parking it is a very good choice if you arrive by car. The rooms, however not very modern, are spacious and comfortable, and got everything you need for a hotel room. The best thing with the hotel is the wonderful garden with a small pool.
