The Hotel de la Minerve is ideally located. It's right behind the Pantheon. it's a short walk to the Piazza Navona / The Trevi fountain / Castle Saint Angelo / Saint Peters /The Vatican museums and the Sistine chapel. Our room was very big. Free WiFi and the view from roof top restaurant and bar is outstanding!! The price was $324 Euros per night but worth the price. The room and bath were clean and the hotel staff was very helpful. When I return to Roma I will stay here

The Grand Hotel Minerva in Rome, Italy is located adjacent to the rear of the Pantheon, facing its own square (where a famous obelisk is on top on an elephant). The property is first class, the staff is welcoming and very helpful, and the location allows easy walking access to major points of interest in Rome. The area around the hotel includes a number of restaurants and shops. Be sure to get the included roof top breakfast, which for location and food is a memory in and of itself. Top rati... Read more

After 3 years we spent another 4 nights in this lovely old hotel. We went for a delux room and had a very spacious room (#104). The staff were as lovely and helpful as on our first occasion. As commented by others, the location is superb in being in close proximity to the monuments and the shopping. The roof top bar was also a nice place to relax and unwind with a drink or two.

Everything about the hotel and the room was excellent with one minor exception. The water for the tub and shower never really got hot. Depending on the time of day, it was warmer sometimes. And it was warm enough to take a satisfactory shower. But it never really got hot. A lukewarm shower is ok but not satisfying.

This hotel provided everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay in Rome. The lobby is beautiful and the staff very helpful. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, but seemed a bit 'tired'. Maybe its time for a coat of paint or updated flooring? Bathrooms were great though! No breakfast was included in the room rate but the hotel is near so many restaurants that we never had a problem finding reasonably priced meals. As long as you're not seeking modern accommodation and Michelin star dining, this hotel enjoys a more stately yet surprising relaxed 5* environment. The Minerve's two winning points have to be, firstly, it's roof top terrace bar (and restaurant) with artistically rugged skyline views, perfect on a warm summer's evening and, secondly, location, location, location! Short walking distances to many tourist sites and excellent shops, but more so, atmospheric cobbled streets and piazzas for al fresco ... Read more

I relished the classic European hotel experience offered by this grand old establishment. From the extraordinarily central location on a quiet piazza behind the Pantheon, to the period building with its entrance and lobby boasting stained glass and coordinated floral arrangements (and statue of Minerva!) , from the elegant room with indulgent bathroom and Etro toiletries, to the chic roof-top terrace with unbelievable views over Rome, staying here was a delightful and relaxing experience. We stayed here and really loved the room and the hotel. Just stayed here again for 4 nights with our daughter in tow. Had plenty of room for the 3 of us in the large, nicely appointed room. All staff we encountered at this hotel were excellent: friendly, polite, efficient and very helpful. The location is super and within a walking distance (if you are fairly fit) to all the major attractions: Vatican, Colosseum, Via Del Corsa (Shopping), Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon is literally next door. However, it is my opinion that this hotel gets its stars based on location. The classic rooms are not luxurious and are a little careworn. So if you are feeling flush, opt for a suite, they ... For my last night in Rome I planned a special night and decided to stay at a hotel over my budget as a treat, as I had been camping for 10 days prior. I was excited to have a great comfortable night in the centre of Rome. We stayed on the last floor (6th) under the roof top restaurant. Grand Hotel de la Minerve doesn't disappoint with its rich history, stunning public spaces and exceptional service. It is walking distance from all of the major attractions in Rome and of many great restaurants. The bathrooms are up-to-date, but the hallway carpets need replacing. Continental breakfast is extraordinarily expensive, however, and there is no easy way to get just coffee or tea in the morning.

Of course the location is the major selling point for this property and it delivers in that regard. In other areas, not so much. My room was very small, by an elevator, and not well furnished for the price (Euro 369/night). The finess room was not well equipped and a bit worn out. Stayed here for business in October 2016. The location is amazing right next door to the Pantheon, surely the most amazing building in the world. The service in the hotel was fine and the large rooms clean. The low rating is because none of the rooms ( three of my colleagues stayed at the same time) had the air conditioning working. As a consequence the rooms were like a sauna. Not what you expect for such a high price.

Can't beat the location and the roof top bar for evening cocktails. The staff was great and very helpful. Room was large and comfortable, but needed a renovation if they want to continue to charge the high rate; as others have said the AC was not working in 75/80 F days. The most vexing issue is the breakfast set up which is located on the roof with an amazing view. It's too formal with white tablecloths and way overpriced - 25 Euro for Continental Buffet and 35 Euro for same plus eggs and meat... Read more

This is a warm, almost genteel hotel, one with a kind and gracious spirit. It is in an incredible location, just a block from the Pantheon and well situated to many of the other amazing sites Rome has to offer. The staff were, without exception, kind, friendly and helpful. All of this goes a long way. Our room was large, comfortable and quiet. The only drawback is that the whole place is in need of of a renovation. Its a terrific property that could be beautiful but as it is now it's looki... Read more

The Hotel de la Minerve exceeded all of our expectations. Staff was extremely friendly and hospitable. The front desk, bellmen, maids, restaurant staff couldn't have been more pleasant and eager to please. (and all spoke perfect English) Not having traveled abroad, we were a little anxious regarding how Roman accommodations would compare with those in US, but no worries here. Linens and fixtures are high end, and other than early rising seal gulls, rooms and common areas are quiet and peace... Read more

We stayed here twice, once for a 3 night stay and then for 1 night on November 12th before heading home. As it was our first stay in Rome and we had a limited amount of time in the city, we wanted to stay in a central location that allowed us to access all of the sites easily, as well as feel like we were in a great location for dining and shopping. The hotel did not disappoint. We walked everywhere in the city and didn't take a single taxi. The Piazza Navona is a quick 10 minute walk and mo... Read more

Bath was good and in great shape. Now for what is important to me INTERNET was great. I was able to use throughout hotel. Did not have breakfast at hotel, well maybe I did, I would call every morning at 5AM and order a large pot of coffee with hot milk and some Danishes. 10 minutes later is was there. Fresh... Read more

And this time again the choice was Grand Hotel de la Minerve. Perfect location - only a few steps away from the Pantheon... doesn't get any better! Easy communication with any part of the city. Room was large, elegant, comfortable and quiet. The staff was great and very helpful. The roof of the hotel offers an amazing view of Rome. If you can afford it, stay at the Minerve. I will like to stay here when I visiting Rome again :)

The Grand Hotel de la Minerve is a wonderful place to stay when in Rome. It is a beautiful, clean and convenient hotel. Location is spectacular, and right in the middle of everything you could possibly want to see. Everything is in walking distance. The staff is very friendly and professional, and are always helpful.

We so enjoyed our stay at this charming hotel! The room was spacious, clean and well appointed and staff very helpful and friendly. A highlight is definitely breakfast at the rooftop garden restaurant with its lovely views, and the location can't be beat - walking distance to everything. We would definitely recommend the hotel and stay here again!
