Was looking forward to another trip to Rome and booked the Minerve for 4 nights for its location. Was shocked at how small the room was for a 5 Star hotel, we could only move around one at a time while the other person waited on the bed for their turn. We paid for breakfast which was over 30 euros each and on the first morning we had some bread and ordered two omelette a from the menu card on the table. When we finished we were shocked to be handed a bill for 26 euros for the omelettes. I asked ... Read more

The Minerva sits in the Plaza Minerva right beside the Pantheon. It is also beside a beautiful and historic Dominican church. The hotel is in the centre of all of the action in old Rome. It is close to the Vatican, many old churchs, and a short walk to the Trevi Fountain. The rooms are small by north american standards, but good size for Rome. The beds are very comfortable, and the hotel is impeccably maintained. I have stayed at the Minerva on 3 visits, and each time there was a foreign h... Read more

A beautiful old hotel with a stunning lobby and superb location. The location really is the selling point of this hotel. It's right at the heart of everything. Some very pretty views at night. We had one meal at the hotel restaurant, it was delicious but quite pricy, so it was a bit of a special treat for our last night in Rome. We had drinks on the rooftop terrace, which was very pretty and had a lovely atmosphere. The room was quite average and a bit on the small side but very comfortable. The... Read more

Central location. Clean 5 star hotel that is easy to access all of Rome key sites by a stroll. Clean rooms with laminate wood floors give you reassurance of good hygiene. Start the day with excellent buffet on roof top restaurant from which all the sites can be seen. Staff is polite and helpful especially cleaning room and at the rooftop restaurant.

Great location, central and near Pantheon. Staff were fantastic and very receptive to our needs. Concierge assisted with dinner reservation in the Ghetto area the day we arrived at the hotel. Room was very spacious

We needed a hotel in Rome last minute and decided to book this hotel bcs of the location and the price. We only stayed one night but all was perfect and clean. Friendly stuff, nice and practical bathroom (not that big, but we stayed only one night) and comfortable beds. We did not try breakfast, so cannot comment on that. Location was just perfect, just some steps away from the Pantheon. Would definitely go back there.

I love the hotel and the location. I booked a Superior room and received a small 3 room suite. Extremely nice view of half the city from the windows. Very nice bathroom. Nice bed. Not so nice pillows. Air condition that works very well. The bathroom was clean but as others have also written there was a lot of dust in the rooms. Not visible until the sun shines through the window but then really visible and really a lot of it. Breakfast 35 euros is an ok price for what you get and for a hotel of... Read more

Old and tired rooms. They are in need of renovation. Very dated bathrooms. Bed headboards ore old and dated. Elevators are old and tired. Not worth the price. Parking is through a secondary vendor and required cash payment. Told us there was no easy parking, yet there was just 2 blocks away. Disappointing.

Grand Hotel de la Minerve was excellent. It is literally 40 feet away from the Pantheon and close to everything else in the heart of Rome. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The restaurant and bar on top of the hotel were great for the views and the food and drink. We upgraded to a Deluxe Room which was large, comfortable, and clean. It seemed like the A/C could never get the room cold enough for our tastes, but overall, it was a great hotel and one that we will stay in again.

Not a good experience. Aperol spritz awful. Tried 3 times to make them right. Service Terrible and the pigeons would not leave us alone. I did complain and they bought us a round of drinks but it is such a beautiful place up there you would think it would be better! Oh and did I mention $$$$$$$$

Excellent hotel, amazing view of Rome from the rooftop and friendly/helpful staff. While you staying at the Minerva open your google map and there you are, 50 walking steps from the Pantheon (read some history about it). The price might look high but once you understand you are right on top of the Roman ruins, you are on top of the world. The area is full of restaurants and bar, enjoy it...

Very clean and although dated in parts, elegant also. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room was fairly small with large bathroom. The rooftop restaurant was lovely and breakfast was excellent with variety of tastes catered for. The location of the hotel was the winner though. It is located central to all the major tourist attractions which are walking distance and the area around the hotel is vibrant. The negatives are nit pickey such as No bar in the ground floor of hotel and it lack... Read more

My wife and I had a short break in Rome to celebrate a special anniversary recently. We chose the hotel because of it's position, which is perfect for anyone who wants to see the main attractions in Rome, without having to hire a car or use other transport. If you'll take my advice, don't hire a car and drive in Rome, they're off their heads! The hotel is beautiful, and has a superb roof restaurant giving a panoramic view of Rome. It was mentioned by an earlier poster that the classic rooms wer... Read more

The location just behind the Pantheon is the best part of the hotel. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The porters at the door and taxi stand are also helpful. Stayed in room 444 which is on the side of the building and faces another building. Room was spacious and clean except that the upholstery on the chairs and bench -needed a general cleaning. The distance between the sink and bathtub is very narrow. An overweight person would not be happy with the narrow space. Ate brunch on th... Read more

This hotel played a large role in making my trip to Rome fun and relaxing. The room was large and had a gorgeous bathroom with a really nice bathtub. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I booked this last minute and when I got to the hotel the concierge helped me reserve tickets to museums and the Colosseum. There is a rooftop bar/restaurant that has beautiful views of Rome. The hotel is convenient to many attractions like the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps.

Now this is the kind of old world hotels that we all need! Property looked nice plus the location was excellent. The staff were all eager to serve and the rooms were very nice. The breakfast buffet was included as usual and it was one of the best in Italy. Traveling with my elderly parents, I appreciated the hotel porter going out of his way to help us with the bags while baording the train. Yes he actually came with us and helped me load the bags! You don't get service like this anymore!

The Grand Hotel is located in the Piazza de la Minerva. The hotel overlooks the beutiful church piazza and is a short walk to the Pantheon Square. The doorman Paul is an all time favorite, we have been going to this hotel for about 18 years and he recognizes us as soon as the cab pulls up. The rooms vary in size and decor and most are beautiful. The rooftop bar and ristorante provide spectacular views of beautiful Rome and provide a very romantic location for before or after dinner drinks. The l... Read more

Ths hotel is in a lovely little piazza right behind the Pantheon. It's so central we were able to walk to the Circus Maximus as well as to St Peters and then the Spanish Steps. The staff are really friendly and helpful (and speak embarassingly good english) and meals (including breakfast) are served on the rooftop restaurant with stunning views over the city skyline.

I cannot write about the accommodations, because I did not end up staying there. There was a terror scare at the airport, when we were about the board our 4-hour flight to Rome. The entire terminal (where thousands of people were checking in, on what was described as the busiest travel day here of the season) was evacuated, and chaos ensued. The running led to a stampede, and my mom (with whom I was traveling) was knocked down and injured. Needless to say, we were unable to make our flight. I... Read more

We recently stayed at this excellent property. Superb location right by the Pantheon and puts you in a great spot for almost all the major sights in Rome, especially early in the morning. We had the Suite Alfieri, a two bedroom suite, which was excellent for a family of four. The roof terrace for breakfast (v. Expensive) and dinner is sublime and a must do at least once. Throughout the booking process and some subsequent emails the staff were extremely helpful. So the only downside was that for ... Read more

I was greatly impressed by the room and the service level at the Hotel.I had a great time and the upgraded suit had ample room to entertain. This coupled with the level of service (dry cleaning/ Perseco) was awesome. I very much enjoyed the time there and look forward to many other trips to Hotel Minerve when in Rome. I highly recommend staying with them. You will not be disappointed very well executed on all fronts.

I've stayed at this hotel many times when in Rome. It's good and clean and the location is the real attraction. This summer, however, I think it was very full so I had to call the desk a few to ask for towels or to refresh my internet code, however, they do follow through. They have transfers which are good but our arrival transfer driver was not too nice but he was not a member of the hotel. The concierge couldn't have been more helpful with restaurants and we had a nice stay in general. It's a... Read more

This hotel is in the perfect place, close to most of the tourist attractions and right next door to the Pantheon. The standard of the hotel is great, the deluxe double was really nice and roomy. Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful too. Very expensive though, the breakfast and even a drink in the rooftop terrace is pricey (12 Euros for a half of beer!) but I guess you are paying for the view which is stunning.

We chose the Grand Hotel de la Minerve because of it's amazing location. We lived it because of its wonderful staff and lovely bedrooms. Four minutes from piazza Navona and ten minutes from the Trevi fountain. It's also only 8 minutes from the Jewish ghetto which was very helpful for us. Highly recommended.

The rooms are rather simple, but we did not mind, because this hotel is in a great location as a base for walking to all the main sites in central Rome. The roof terrace offered a decent breakfast buffet in a fantastic setting, as well as a slightly over-priced dinner alternative for guests who want to escape street entertainers and sellers after a long day walking around Rome. It is not the cheapest option in the area, but I would return because of the location, service and roof terrace.

As mentioned in previous reviews this location is second to none. It is just steps to the pantheon and walking distance of all major historical sites. The hotel staff was friendly and was able to check us in early after an early morning flight arrival and was kind enough to extend our check out as well. While the room, while not extremely modern, was the largest we had in our travels to Italy and comfortably fit the 3 of us. It had great high ceilings, very large windows, which gave it a beaut...
