The rooms were not big enough to change your mind in. The elevator did not work for 2 days and that was the only elevator in our building. The beds were on iron frames with no box spring just the mattress, I needed glasses to see the TV it was so small, bedding was stained.

I am going to struggle with this review as it isn't the usual sort of hotel we would stay in. I did however want to provide travellers with the plus points of the hotel, because it did have some plus points and I have read a lot of very negative comments about this establishment. We ended up staying here as part of a school trip. I have got to be honest, I was absolutely dreading it after reading reviews of the hotel. I would however like to make a few points in the defence of the hotel. Firstly... Read more

...but if you are traveling for business you might want to consider an alternative option. It's good value for money, but the rooms are generally small and not on top of my comfort ranking. Definitely a lot of space that could find a better use in the hall and in the garden.

The room was very basic with twin beds that we pushed together to make a double. The toilet and bathroom was tiny and not very well thought out as the toilet roll holder was too close to the toilet. The shower was intermittent with hot and cold water so not ideal but it served its purpose. The hotel only had breakfast amenities as it is a conference hotel so the rest of the mealtimes were catered for the attendees of the conferences. They offer bar meals but not much seating indoors but load... Read more

Other reviews on this site are very mixed - maybe reflecting differing expectations for the price? For our party of two adults and two 17 year olds it was great value (approx £62 per twin room per night including breakfast -booked via Guardian super breaks) Church Village staff were friendly, welcoming and informative . We had clean, peaceful twin rooms with showers, air con, wifi and good breakfasts plus free car parking. Airy garden terrace a welcome respite from heat of the city. Nice b... Read more

Not much to do here but sleep. The staff was not very helpful when I had a problem with the limo service, I just asked help as the driver did not speak English. Breakfast was so-so, enough to get you by to last a whole day conference but I had better breakfast elsewhere in Italy. Dinner had to be outside, only a bar was open at night, not sure what food they served at night, the staff did not offer the place for dinner. There was ice cream, coffee, and drinks from the bar, reasonable prices... Read more

The hotel staff is friendly. The room is clean but the building that I stayed in has no lifts so I need to carry my luggage up the stairs. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the Metro and then another 30 mins train to the centre of Rome. Wifi is free but can be unstable at times.

We stayed as part of a Topdeck tour here for one night during our rome stay. Clean rooms, showers were a bit of a struggle with temperature being at either extreme. Breakfast included hot food with sausages, bacon and eggs. 20 minutes walk from the Metro station. There is a bus that gets you close to the hotel but not as frequent.

We stayed here for a night as part of a tour. The room was clean and had air conditioning. The shower temperature was either too hot or cold. Breakfast was good, no complaints. The hotel is a bit far from the centre of Rome and the main attractions. Overall it was fine for a few days stay.

We were a group of eight staying in seven rooms - and each one of us loved this hotel. It was clean, comfortable, friendly. The bar and restaurant on property are very good. We had breakfast here five mornings, dinner three times, lunch once. Prices were very reasonable ( the exchange rate was very favorable for USA). We sat in the lobby or enjoyed our cocktails and beer. The gardens are beautiful.

Poor location but not necessarily a problem if you are on a tour but Rome rush hour means it can take 40-50 minutes. There are no lifts so be prepared to haul your luggage up 2 or 3 flights. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very small. Air conditioning blew out hot air. If you open the windows you get bitten by mosquitoes. The dark blue carpets are very stained and lots of scuff marks along walks from haulage of baggage. Two very rude staff in the restaurant on the first night. Beware the bar is o... Read more

We stayed at this location as part of a group. We read the reviews before we stayed and as a result, asked for one of the newer rooms. We were glad we did because the room was clean and there were no musty odors. Although we found the beds uncomfortable, and the room extremely small, our son (23) who was part of the group loved the place! He thought the food and room were awesome! For our tastes the food was bland but plentiful and the waitstaff were very nice. There is also a nice patio w... Read more
