This hotel is in a nice quiet area just behind the zoo in the Borghese Gardens away from the hustle and bustle of the city which is good. There is a tram stop outside which can take you to the Vatican. The hotel provides a courtesy transport to the top of the Spanish Steps which is good place to then go exploring as nice and central. There is a metro station at the Steps as well. The room was nice and pool area peaceful. The spa area was nice to chill out in after exploring the city but has subd... Read more

The moment you get to the Aldrovandi Villa Borghese you are treated like no other place we have ever stayed. Staff was always attentive, they opened the doors for you & always welcomed you back. Rooms were very nice with all amenities you would need. Restaurant was great, grommet all the way. It was my birthday & they made the effort to make it one of my most memorable. Lounge was very comfortable with a great staff. Breakfast buffet was exceptional. Would recommend this place to anyone going t... Read more

Just returned from a very memorable long-weekend in this fabulous hotel. Excellent service, luxurious without being pretentious and snobby, no wonder it is part of the Leading hotels of the World. The best thing about the property was the pool area and the garden restaurant, we were lucky to be able to be outside in the sun most of our stay. We enjoyed it so much we only left the pool when we absolutely had to. Even the restrooms by the pool were stocked with all necessities, like hair gel/spr... Read more

Only 5 mins from the Spanish by free shuttle Great to come back to the pool and peace Highly recommended 5 star hotel but I must say the lovely bar was a little pricey Perhaps that's why it was so quiet in the evening I would definitely stay here again when in Rome

Visited bar for lunch and tea/ drinks. What a lovely oasis hidden away from the traffic, right by the park. Amazing service, polite, quick and professional. Great food, knowledgable waiter suggested fresh raspberry proseco which was delicious. Very tranquil, beautiful swimming pool and discreet, sophisticated place.

What a lovely hotel on the outskirts of the Villa Borghese Gardens. In a quiet residential area with a beautiful pool. Breakfast were very good along with the food at the pool. Everybody was really helpful and pleasant. Wish we could have stayed for a couple of extra days. Make sure you take a bike from the hotel and cycle the the beautiful gardens. The hotel also offers free transport to the top of the Spanish Steps, from early till 10.45pm.

We looked the shuttle bus to Spanish steps every 30 mins so convenient The wifi is very strong and effective and the rooms well maintained with everything you could need We had dinner at the restaurants recommended by concierge and all were reasonable and within 10 mins walk We loved the park opposite hotel and walked into Rome many times enjoying the... From the time we arrived until we checked out the service by all the staff was exceptional. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but we were invited to the bar for a complimentary drink. From then on we new it would be a good experience for our 3 day stay. The room was really beautiful and relaxing after a day walking the streets of Rome. The shuttle service to the Spanish Steps only takes 5 minutes and made a big difference to our stay as we used it twice on most days. We sat in the garden aro... Read more

We visited Rome for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Everything about the hotel was wonderful. The staff were professional, friendly and went above and beyond to meet our needs. It's the finer details which make a hotel a true 5 star which this hotel accomplishes. The cocktails and food were delicious and the pool area and spa were ideal for relaxing our tired feet, from hours of sight seeing! This was our first holiday as a couple and thanks to the hotel and the beauty of the city ever... Read more

What a perfect find in a city choked with options. The use of hotel's shuttle to the Spanish Steps while only five minutes away allowed us untrammelled luxury time. There is nothing to chill-down after trawling the Mecca of Italy, as the diving into the pool and lounging effortlessly afterwards. The attention and execution by staff of a mere request is instant and jovial to the max. It seems every waiter has relatives in Melbourne or Sydney. The snacks were ample to satisfy us for a re-engagem... Read more

We went on a corporate trip to Rome a few years back and were lucky enough to stay at this 5 star hotel for 2 weeks. Aldrovandi is located close to the stairs, the wonderful fountains and offers excellent services in and around the city. If you can afford it, this place is worth every penny.

My husband and I spent 3 nights in celebration of our wedding anniversary. 3 words to describe Aldrovandi - Amazing, Amazing, Amazing! Amazing hotel - everything is tastefully decorated, classy and well maintained. Amazing service - service from all staff was incredible from start to finish, from concierge, reception, pool, restaurant, spa to housekeeping! I would give a 5 stars first and foremost for the excellence of the staff. Multicultural but all driven by the same positive attitude and client service focused. When all the maid salute you, when the pool girl makes the extra mile to get you a sunbed where you d like, when the restaurant staff remebers if you take still or sparkling water...when all these tiny details are assembled you truly enjoy your break. Decoration is rather classical (a lot of marble) but without a fault. We were upgrade... Read more

Rome can seem way too crowded. Our visit to the Vatican this time found so many people that we couldn't enjoy the treasures that are there. To get away from this, we stayed a cab ride away from all the bustle in the Aldrovandi Villa Borghese. The common areas are exceptional -- the entry hall, the breakfast room, the dining hall, the pool and the pool restaurant. The rooms are large and ours had been updated and was away from the front road. Our last night we elected to cancel our dinner reserva... Read more

I booked Villa Borghese as part of the package which included business class tickets from San Francisco. So I am not quite certain how much my room costs. The room is a Deluxe double which is a perfect size for one person. If I were traveling with my husband I would've liked to have a bit more space. There is something very peaceful and idyllic about the room, that is hard to describe. A large window opens up onto a little courtyard with 3 beautiful residential homes. Lovely entrance and pool area. Interior needs a serious makeover. "One of the leading hotels of the world" is a big claim. I would certainly expect sumptuously upholstered sofas in the mezzanine and more furniture near the wall under the tapestry. Minimalism is one thing, emptiness is another. Italy is full of magnificent antique furniture. The owners should take note. Our room was adequate but the shower leaked, and the staff seemed unconcerned. They offered more towels for the water on the flo... Read more

It was an unexpected trip to Rome. Arriving to the hotel was easy as the cab driver knew where it was. On arrival we had our luggage taken but reclaimed it immediately as we had arrived before check in time of 2 p.m. We took our luggage to the pool and changed in a poolside cabana. Lounged by the pool, which was bliss as the weather was clear, sunny and hot. We also had lunch at the pool grill, half our meal was great, my choice was not as delicious. Our room check in was delayed by an hour, ... Read more

Great hotel in a quieter area of Rome. The room was nice but not amazing. The service was excellent and the breakfast outstanding. The pool area could be very serene and relaxed except it was almost exclusively filled with screaming kids. The garden area next to the pool was also very nice, especially after the kids were gone. Highly recommend.

We had a stunning room, complete with a beautiful marble bathroom and views over the Park. Having been to Rome before and having stayed at hotel Eden (currently under renovation), we were keen to try another LHW hotel that's a bit outside of the most touristy areas. This is a very luxurious hotel in Rome. As you get in you can see how perfect everything is. The lobby is just amazing and quaint. The pool area feel like a club for the very rich. The only problem with the hotel and the reason of my four star is that it is not in the middle of Rome. It is a little far from the center of town and you have to take a shuttle or a taxi to get there. I tried to walk and it is a long trek through empty streets. Aldrovandi is slightly out of the way near Parc Borghese but it runs a shuttle bus to the centre and has bikes for the use of guests. The hotel itself is old style classy - with polite and attentive staff and classical rooms - nothing showy or too plush but good quality, moderate sized with an authentic Rome ambiance.
