This hotel is in a nice quiet area just behind the zoo in the Borghese Gardens away from the hustle and bustle of the city which is good. There is a tram stop outside which can take you to the Vatican. The hotel provides a courtesy transport to the top of the Spanish Steps which is good place to then go exploring as nice and central. There is a metro station at the Steps as well. The room was nice and pool area peaceful. The spa area was nice to chill out in after exploring the city but has subd... Read more

Just returned from a very memorable long-weekend in this fabulous hotel. Excellent service, luxurious without being pretentious and snobby, no wonder it is part of the Leading hotels of the World. The best thing about the property was the pool area and the garden restaurant, we were lucky to be able to be outside in the sun most of our stay. We enjoyed it so much we only left the pool when we absolutely had to. Even the restrooms by the pool were stocked with all necessities, like hair gel/spr... Read more

Visited bar for lunch and tea/ drinks. What a lovely oasis hidden away from the traffic, right by the park. Amazing service, polite, quick and professional. Great food, knowledgable waiter suggested fresh raspberry proseco which was delicious. Very tranquil, beautiful swimming pool and discreet, sophisticated place.

What a lovely hotel on the outskirts of the Villa Borghese Gardens. In a quiet residential area with a beautiful pool. Breakfast were very good along with the food at the pool. Everybody was really helpful and pleasant. Wish we could have stayed for a couple of extra days. Make sure you take a bike from the hotel and cycle the the beautiful gardens. The hotel also offers free transport to the top of the Spanish Steps, from early till 10.45pm.

From then on we new it would be a good experience for our 3 day stay. The room was really beautiful and relaxing after a day walking the streets of Rome. We visited Rome for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Everything about the hotel was wonderful. The staff were professional, friendly and went above and beyond to meet our needs. It's the finer details which make a hotel a true 5 star which this hotel accomplishes. What a perfect find in a city choked with options. The use of hotel's shuttle to the Spanish Steps while only five minutes away allowed us untrammelled luxury time. There is nothing to chill-down after trawling the Mecca of Italy, as the diving into the pool and lounging effortlessly afterwards. The attention and execution by staff of a mere request is instant and jovial to the max. It seems every waiter has relatives in Melbourne or Sydney. When all the maid salute you, when the pool girl makes the extra mile to get you a sunbed where you d like, when the restaurant staff remebers if you take still or sparkling water...when all these tiny details are assembled you truly enjoy your break. Rome can seem way too crowded. Our visit to the Vatican this time found so many people that we couldn't enjoy the treasures that are there. To get away from this, we stayed a cab ride away from all the bustle in the Aldrovandi Villa Borghese. Lovely entrance and pool area. Interior needs a serious makeover. "One of the leading hotels of the world" is a big claim. I would certainly expect sumptuously upholstered sofas in the mezzanine and more furniture near the wall under the tapestry. Minimalism is one thing, emptiness is another. Clearly we are fans of this hotel, so please feel free to keep that in mind when reading our multiple 5* reviews... Nothing is perfect in this world, and the Aldrovandi's pool does attract its fair share of tourists, short pants in all their glory with kids in tow. But this doesn't detract from the idyllic garden setting (although groups of american businessmen should probably know enough to change into long pants before going to dinner...). This hotel is beautiful with well appointed rooms, wonderful daily breakfast and a lovely pool. It is however their service that really shines-everyone we met went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and easy. The hotel feels like an oasis and is a little ways away from the main tourist attractions-but is right around the corner from the Borghese Gallery and park. They have a shuttle service and taxis were easy. but we walked to the Spanish steps and other areas easily. Would definit... Read more

Excellent staff, beautiful hotel and great location if you want to be in the Villa Borghese area. We also found the complimentary shuttle to the Spanish Steps area very useful. The hotel bar and restaurant was expensive but that is to be expected. The spa was very nice and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Aldrovandi Villa Borghese on our first ever visit to Italy. We stayed for 8 nights and it was absolutely perfect. The service is superb, we loved our room on the 4th floor with a view of the neighboring villas and trees. Our room wasn't huge but it was perfect with a large bathroom and closet. Somebody complained in their tripadvisor review that the tv was small but we had no problem ditching television-watching that week for all our wonderful experiences in Rome. ... Read more

This hotel just about has it all....wonderfully welcoming and helpful staff, beautiful decor, sumptuous breakfast and a swimming pool. Although the location at the top of the Borghese park and across the street from the zoo is away from the city's center, the hotel provides a convenient free shuttle that brings you a short distance from the top of the Spanish steps. We will definitely book the Aldrovandi Villa Borghese on our return to Rome.

Everything about this place was wonderful. The welcoming staff, the beautiful room, the public areas, the spa and the hearty breakfast (breakfast was my favorite). We spent 4 nights here and although there were hotels situated closer to the attractions, we found Aldrovandi to be a home away from home and will definitely return.

Every aspect of this well established hotel is exceptional. All of the staff are so attentive; the housekeeping is immaculate; the aspect is superb. The free shuttle to the centre of roam is really useful and was used a lot during our stay. The fine dining restaurant overlooking the gardens and pool provided a romantic end to our holiday. The food is exquisitely prepared and presented. Good luck to them with the Michelin inspector. They deserve a star!

We stayed here for four nights. Every night and day we were pampered by the entire staff, from the concierge to the poolstaff. Everybody is proud of what they do and that was what we loved most about the hotel. We will definitely go back.

Enjoyed this Hotel enormously. Breakfast was superb and all the staff were brilliant. Besides breakfast we only had one meal at the hotel - light dinner by the pool - my wife had a hamburger and I had some pasta - both were excellent.

We were made most welcome by all staff. Breakfasts were superb, room was extremely comfortable with a relentless supply of linens, towels, toiletries etc. Lovely touches like an umbrella in the wardrobe should the weather be a problem. We enjoyed the light meals both in the Grill Bar and the lovely outside seating area. Only one negative comment - one evening when we were dining in the outside area, a senior waiter from the main restaurant spoke aggressively to one of the young (and extremely... Read more

very grand older style hotel in rome nice service and older style rooms that are comfortable. Lovely pool and garden area for relaxing when rome is sizzling! breakfast is quite nice but probably the worst coffee I have ever had in my life, and hello its italy??? Not sure what that was about but I had to leave each morning for a coffee as this was undrinkable. Nice hotel with nice service , but I think it all could be better for this price category

We stayed here on our recent anniversary trip. We were aware that the hotel was slightly out of the centre but came regardless. We made the right choice. They run a shuttle service to the Spanish Steps area every half hour and will collect from the same point every 15 and 45m past the hour till 1045 at night. The hotel is quiet and luxurious in an old world sense. The rooms are on the small side (we had a standard but there are larger ones) and the decor is traditional. Although facing the stree... Arriving we immediately outside the hotel get welcomed by the bell boy and we had some good laughs together. Check in very smoothly and the lady that checked us in followed us upp and introduce the spacious room for us and other services we could use at the hotel. We both tried the lunch and dinner that was excellent and the wine list suburb if you as me like Italian wines. The discussion about Italian wines went very personal and it was great. Check out and the limo that took us back to the air... Read more

The hotel is beautiful and the staff very attentive, friendly, and most helpful. It was a very elegant hotel with a beautiful lobby and bar (indoor and outdoor). It was so clean and comfortable. Breakfast is a bit expensive but worth it. The food was excellent as well as the service with many choices and you can eat as much as you'd like. The hotel provides shuttle service to and from the city which is very convenient. Each room has it's own door bell which is something I had never seen bef... Read more

Professional and friendly, efficient, and just WONDERFUL,! We used their bicycles and had a good time in the adjacent park. Also our room overlooked the zoo. Although on a busy road I did not mind. We came here for a 3 day break to celebrate my husband's special birthday as a surprise for him! The hotel did not disappoint. As we have certain dietary requirements (I am a coeliac and neither of us eat meat) I informed the hotel by email in advance, and all our needs were met. On the first morning, the lady who greets us at breakfast, showed me where all the gluten-free options were (there were quite a few), and once seated at the table, a waiter brought me a pack of hand-made gluten-free bi... This is a very fine hotel. It's small and intimate. The decor is splendid and the rooms well equipped. There's a garden and pool which would be perfect in summer. The property is located in the Villa Borghese, a park a few kilometres from the centre of Rome. The hotel operates a shuttle service every half hour. Taxis are numerous and relatively cheap in any case. The quiet of the neighbourhood is worth the extra few kilometres. Rome can be an awful place. The hotel service is excellent. Staf... Read more
