Now if you want a place in the centre of the city, close to the Trevi and the Pantheon you cant go wrong by staying here. the rooms are comfortable, prices reasonable but not cheap (a tip is to book directly with the hotel rather than online book sites), friendly staff, a good breakfast and (did I say it already ?) a great location. The rooftop restaurant offers a hearty and healthy breakfast where you can dine inside or al fuori. Piazza Navona is a short walk away and the Colosseum is within ... Read more

This was a tricky review... On the one hand this hotel really needs a facelift. Our bathroom was circa 1970... Peeling paint from the shower frame and it all looked very tired .... On the other hand the staff were excellent and the roof top terrace was more 4 star than 3 star and the breakfast could not be faulted. The real big benefit (as other reviewers have mentioned ) is the location. During our stay we visited all the real hotspots (it was my 4th visit to Rome over the past 10 years but m... Read more

The room was modest but had all we needed, clean comfortable bed, shower etc. Good roof terrace for breakfast and drinks in the evening. The location is very good, almost equidistant from the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon and within walking distance of most of the main tourist sites in Rome. We walked everywhere and did not need public transport. The star of the show was the concierge Tomasso. He was brilliant. Energetic and friendly, he clearly took delight in being helpful to his guests, ... Read more

We stayed in two rooms as we went to Capri in the middle and really appreciated the location of this hotel as we were able to race around and see as much as possible in our limited time. The first room no 43 was a good size and clean with obviously very expensive furnishings when new - and yes perhaps an upgrade is needed but value wise this hotel can't be beaten when you count the cost of the excellent free breakfast. The second room no 6 was enormous with two extra single beds, so handy for su... Read more

We stayed here for 2 nights prior to our cruise. The hotel staff were wonderful and the breakfast was great. The room was very spacious and clean. You can't beat the view from their roof top bar. The most important thing about this hotel is the location. Literally a 5 minute walk to the Pantheon and in the opposite direction the Trevi Fountain. A bit farther away but still walkable (and I have a bad knee) was the Forum and Colliseum. I would recommend this hotel for sure.

We arrived at this small boutique hotel very early in the morning. We had just flown overnight and were tired, but determined to make it to St. Peters Square for mass with Pope Francis. We were greeted, our bags stowed, given a delicious breakfast on the roof top dining area, and pointed in the right direction to head to the square. This hotel is within walking distance of the trevi fountain, the pantheon and the Vatican city area, and all that is in between. We stayed there three days, and ... Read more

During our recent trip to Italy, we visited Rome, Florence and Cinque Terre; Albergo Cesari was our favorite hotel of all that we stayed in. We can't say enough wonderful things about this facility. They arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport, which was great. At this was our first trip to Italy, we were a little apprehensive about navigating our way on our own. We arrived at the hotel way before check in time but our room was available so they checked us in. We walked everywh... Read more

Perfect location, wonderful room with bath, and the most delightful terrace to eat your free breakfast on. One of our favorite hotels of trip. Walking distance to wonderful restaurants, Trevi Fountain, Panthenon, Spanish Steps, and shopping. Very enjoyable stay.

I was a little hesitant about booking this hotel because it wasn't as flashy and grand as the other hotels in Rome. But I was looking for something affordable and centrally located and this seemed to fit my requirements. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It was exactly what I was looking for. It's blocks from EVERYTHING. We made night stops off at the Piazzo Novona and Trevi Fountain. The hotel rooftop was great for breakfast and drinks. We couldn't have been happier with how it turned... After a lot of research, we decided to stay at the Albergo Cesari firstly because of its perfect location, secondly after reading others outstanding reviews and thirdly because they serve breakfast on a rooftop terrace with views! I booked directly with the hotel and emailed them both prior and after I had booked with a few enquiries - both replies I received were quick and friendly.. Upon arrival I found that check in was efficient and all staff encountered throughout our stay were very helpful... Read more

We booked this hotel based upon my sister's recommendation from a couple of years ago. The location can't be beat and the staff are very helpful. Rooms are a good size for Europe. I was traveling with my husband and two teenage sons so the breakfast kept them happy along with the evening rooftop bar. I would highly recommend it. Everything you need with the exception of the Vatican is within walking distance! Thank you Albergo Cesari.

The Cesari, where we have stayed 6 times over the last 15 years, is my favorite "2nd home in Rome". They have continually improved this hotel, adding a beautiful rooftop deck, and updating many rooms. The front desk personnel are helpful, knowledgeable and charming. It is a 5 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. It is right next to the beautiful and historically important Piazza Pietra..

My husband and I adored this little hotel. From the minute we arrived we loved it. After travelling for nearly 30 hours door to door from Australia we couldn't wait to get arrive (and sleep). But even though it was late in the evening and we were exhausted we still headed up to the rooftop terrace for a quick Aperol Spritz and Peroni and a plate of nibbles. While it is not a large ornate Hotel it has lovely character and the most beautiful Roof top Restaurant/Bar to start or finish off your lovely days in this glorious city. This hotel has some high points - it is in a great location, between the Trevi fountain and the Pantheon, making touring Rome a bit easier on the feet! The reception staff - notably Bernardo and Sharon were very helpful. As others said, the rooftop for breakfast was unique and enjoyable. Pleasantly surprised at this three star - okay, so the wallpaper wasn't in the best shape and it is definitely dated, but it was clean, quiet, and the location was perfect! My baggage didn't make it to Rome and the gentleman at the front desk went out of his way several times to make calls on my behalf to the airport as well as Iberia. If you're able to find this little gem you're lucky. Although it is very old it is quite quaint. No A/C so with the windows open it can be noisy if you're an early sleeper. The location is perfect for walking to landmarks, Trevi Fountain or the Pantheon in the middle of both. and great location to local bus and shopping.
