I've never given a hotel a review before but I feel this one needs it. We booked this hotel well in advance before we headed on our O.E from New Zealand. We've stayed in 3-4 star hotels for the last month of our travels & this hotel was a HUGE let down. We checked in and were shown to a room which was outside of the hotel which looked NOTHING like the pictures on the website.. The paint was coming off the walls and the toilet unit attached to the ceiling would drip on you when you were doing you... Read more

The hotel building is very nice and situated in a fine area, close to metro and tram. The rooms are ok, the sanitary average. The walls however are very thin, you can hear people in the next room snoring! But we were in the garden house so perhaps the main building is different. Good price - quality ratio.

My husband and I stayed here in February for going to the rugby. It's located in a quiet street just a few minutes from the metro so great for getting around. A decent selection of restaurants within a short distance of the hotel. The room was good - clean and comfortable, but the shower was very small - difficult to manoeuvre! There was a pretty good selection for breakfast - fruit, cheese, cold meats, sausages, eggs and cake. Reception staff were very good - explained the best way to get to th... Read more

WORST HOTEL I have EVER been to. I am a big traveler and have been to a wide array of hotels in my life. I am currently backpacking through Europe and have been to many hotels in Europe, let alone 3 so far in Europe. I have never been so dissapointed in a hotel. I booked the room on, for a 4 star hotel the price seemed good. Upon arrival I informed the front desk that I had quite a bad foot injury and I would appreciate a room on the ground floor. They told me I would have to pay a la... Read more

We booked a standard double room, expecting to be in a 4 stars hotel. We had noticed from our reservation that the pictures varied from room to room but we were expecting a 4star hotel as announced and as payed for! We arrived at around 10pm, tired from our trip, to get installed into a back building. Took the elevator(scared that we might get stuck) and went into our room. What a disappointment! It was very hot, the air conditioning was off so we turned it on, only to hear a horrible loud noise... Read more

POSTIVES: # clean lobby. # 2 minute walk to tram and metro. # clean buffet breakfast area. # room looked clean. NEGATIVES: # worst bed ever!! Every time you even slightly moved the whole hotel could hear your bed squeak. Very thin mattress to the point you could feel the springs. # no air conditioning! It was on average 27 + degrees and about 16 at night. If we opened the window, which had no screens, all we got was a lot of noise and bitten by mosquitoes. When we asked the concierge about t... This hotel isn't bad when it comes to location, cleanliness, decent breakfast, however it's the simplest things they've got completely wrong... 1. NO A/C - even though this is advertised on their website and on - The main reason I chose this hotel was because it has Air Conditioning advertised as a main amenity within the hotel, which was essential for us with the hot weather in Rome. When we raised this with the hotel reception, they stated that they would not be able to switch on t... Read more

This is a pretty good hotel and was worth the price. I stayed here only for a day. It was close to the subway and a quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was good. I didn't have any issues with this hotel and would recommend it to travelers

Rooms small, but comfortable enough. Bathroom was quite small and shower tiny, partner of 6ft struggled to move in shower. Elevator old/slow & scary to use! Nice looking hotel/lobby area. Free wifi. Included continental style breakfast was sufficient and had good choice. Only place I stayed in Italy that you could toast bread so that was a bonus! Location little out, but close to a subway that could take you anywhere in city.

Stayed here as part of a group tour. Had the triple room that was in the suite area, not part of the main building. Spacious room, with 3 twin beds, a/c, tv that didnt work and good size closet. The shower was the smallest I've ever seen and the water was freezing!! Horrible sliding doors to squeeze between, the shower head was positioned way too high and the sink took forever to drain. Thankfully lobby & rooms had wifi.

Arrived at hotel, which from the outside, looked like a four star, as they were advertising! We were shown to our room on the fourth floor, to which we were greeted to two single beds shoved together (after booking a double room) the light in the bathroom didn't work and the room looked like it was stuck in the 1950's, after ringing -reception to advise of the bed situation and light problem, we were moved to a room on the third floor which was literally a box room, you could barely get your leg... I loved the location and it's proximity to every place in Rome. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms are big and very clean and comfortable. I recommend Villa Torlonia to my friends. Hope to be there again soon

Stayed at this hotel for the first part and least leg of our Bravo Italy tour with Top Deck Tours. The rooms are quite small but are comfortable. The air conditioner in our room worked very well and at one point in the night we had to turn it down as we both were cold. The breakfast included was decent, lots of pastries and cold cuts. Small buns and such

A nice cosy hotel at a quite place. Surrounded by beautiful small streets. On the 2nd floor there is a big terrace from where you can see the green yard of the hotel and beautiful terraces of the neighborhood houses full of flowers. That gives you a chance to feel the authentical Italian atmosphere. If you prefer, you may have your breakfast or just a cup of coffee from the bar at an open-air table in the yard. Very close to metro and tram stops. Torlonia park is nearby. A worth-visit place. An... Read more

I stayed at this hotel as part of my Topdeck European Odyssey tour. When we pulled up to the hotel, I noticed straight away how nice the surrounding area was - the street is filled with these beautiful, different coloured buildings. The staff were really friendly and excellent when dealing with our large group (35+ people). Our room was very small (see photo) but it had everything we need and was very clean - also given it was VERY hot (summer and getting to over 40 degrees celsius) we were very... Read more

The Hotel is quite easily reachable - Metro B Stop Policlinico and Tram 3/19 to Porta Maggiore/Colosseo/Ostiense. The room was actually small, but perfect for visiting Rome. Everything was clean and the reception is formed of very competent people. We found a nice offer in a nice hot. What more?

This hotel was reasonably priced and we found it to be comfortable and clean. The hotel was located about a 5 minute walk from the metro which would take you to the main tourist attractions. There was a shop nearby which we used to buy snacks and water at a very cheap price. The staff were nice and it is in a quiet area of Rome. I would stay here again - good value for money.

Hotel is a 15 minute walk from Termini station (20 minutes with luggage), is out of the way from the main tourist locations so is quiet and there is a variety of restaurants a five minute walk away which are reasonably priced - much more so than the restaurants in the tourist areas. My partner, who's a chef, had one of the best Fillet steaks for ?18! Hotel was clean and quiet with a good continental breakfast, the staff were more than helpful with directions and recommendations for local rest... Read more

This hotel is quite far from the centre of Rome. The towels are more like table cloths, there is no fridge in the room for your drinks, and our shower had no hot water. The staff were nice but that doesn't make up for the room. We also had the same room 2 weeks apart (pre booked before we knew how bad it was) and we found a sock we had left behind after the first visit!

We were here for a five nights. Our room was very small and cold. The heating no working. So we was a lot of time in the bar :) Breakfast was great! Every morning something new in a comfortable diningroom. And subway was a little far away.

The service provided by the staff was amazing. They gave great advice on what tours to take. They called and made reservations for us. The rooms were nice but the beds were very hard and pillows were not good. But I would highly recommend this hotel as the location was very safe and the staff was amazing.

Was wary after having read the reviews but I can honestly say the only 'bad' thing about this place is the distance from tourist spots and I knew that before I booked! It's a 5 minute walk from Policlinico, 2 stops from Termini. I would definitely recommend this place, it was clean, well presented with helpful staff!

I stayed at this hotel on two different occasions. Firstly through my own booking and then as part of a tour. The room I had in the main part of the hotel, above reception was good, the breakfast here was nice as well. This seems to be the newer part of the hotel. The room I had as part of the tour was nowhere near as good and the breakfast did not compare. This was in the other part of the hotel. Both rooms were clean and mostly comfortable but definitely try and get a room in the main part of... Read more

Stayed here as part of a Topdeck Bravo Italia tour at the start and end of the tour. The area the hotel is in is very nice and reasonably close to public transport. I shared with another girl on tour. Our first room was so small the hotel had to push two single beds together (see first photo). There was no room to open my case on the floor so I had to use my bed after I'd finished sleeping. It was awkwardly small for two people sharing who also had luggage. The hotel only gives one room key to t... Read more

So this hotel is really far from everything in the City. The hotel itself, was clean and welcoming. The rooms were extremely small. I know their always small in Europe but I was tripping over the bed due to the lack of space to walk. We didn't know where to put our suit cases so they went on the tables. The shower was super small but it worked and was clean, that's all you can ask for! It also doesn't have soap for the shower or conditioner, so you should bring that with you if staying here. T... The bathroom quite small and towels very thin and sheetlike. Rooms are quite small. Showers didn't always have hot water and most times freezed. The beds weren't the comfiest

This hotel was perfect for us, we found it easily and walked from the train station it took around 30mins. The staff were really helpful and friendly they advised us that we couldn't check in until 3 but took our bags and gave us a map, marking out all the sites and giving us useful pointers and tips. There is a metro stop really close by and it is easy to access all the sites in Rome! Room was clean and the safe was useful to have.
