Some things about this hotel are excellent: location steps from the Termini central train station, grandeur of the lobby, friendly staff, ample self-serve breakfast starting at 6:30am with a variety of cereals, pastries, meats, juices, teas, and every type of coffee including cappuccino. Some things about this hotel are not as excellent: aging rooms, some random bits of dust, service is not that prompt, we had a freezer that was badly in need of defrosting. Also, it depends which room you get wh... Read more

The hotel is kind of old, however, the location is great. It is only 2 blocks away from Roma Termini and have access to both subway lines. Although the hotel is old, it is somehow clean. The air conditioning was not working well and it was too hot in the room.

Located a block from Rome's main train station we had a small bit of time to explore and we like classic hotels demonstrating the elegance of Rome over decades. Stumbled into the hotel because it looked and is elegant. Asked for a place to dine and the response was certainly your table is waiting. So 14 stores up to the roof garden with full and impeccable service. The view is fantastic, the food reflected first class old world charm. So if downtown a great place to pop over to see the City and ... Read more

We stayed 2 nights as part of an Insight "Highlights of Europe. The Mediterraneo is a grand old hotel with large lobby, expansive reception desk, and a lovely breakfast room which served a delicious hot breakfast. Our large, quiet room on the sixth floor contained a king size bed and an updated marble bathroom. The room was a bit "tired" but the location of the hotel cannot be beat. We recommend many of the restaurants nearby but strongly suggest you have a drink on the rooftop patio bar, fro... Read more

The reception could not talk english and they are talking with writing stuffs in papers. You feel like u were in ice age. The room is not modern. Wifi is middle quality. The breakfast is very poor and does not have variety.

This is a large hotel with a sister hotel next door and across the street. For the size I expected better quality. The front desk staff was dismissive and not forthcoming with any helpful information. We had to carry our own luggage to our room which was originally a smoking room on the first floor with a window facing a noisy street. We moved to a non-smoking room on the 6th floor that faced away from the street. The hotel was still very noisy; there was a weird double door and double window th... Read more
