We stayed in this hotel for the last 4 nights and found it very good. We were 3 adults and 9 year old child. The hotel is old but itā??s already okay. Situated a short block from Rome Termini, it is well placed for all tourist attractions. The Colluseum and Roman Forum takes 15-20 minutes by walking. We used taxi in the city. The location is also very suitable for taxi and it costs 6-7 ā?¬ to all touristic places, 13 ā?¬ to Vatican. Beds good, bathroom clean. Bathrooms were renovated but roo... Read more

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. While the rooms are dated and tired and our bathroom was like a shoebox the servise or total lack of takes the cake. Reception is total chaos with no organisation, that is, if you even get acknowledged and served. The restaurant is terrible and the food well thats another story. You wil be served whatever the waiter thinks he wants to serve you. If you have any special dietry requirements that wil be too hard for them. I cannot recommend this hotel.... Read more

Arrived at this hotel for one night before making our way to Naples & Capri the reception was very efficient on check in we were given our room which on arriving discovered it had twin beds not the double we had requested went back down to the reception desk to ask them to change rooms and this was carried out immediately with no fuss what so ever. Despite a few reviews saying the rooms and bathrooms are small our bedroom and bathroom was very very spacious although we had chosen a superior room... Read more

This was the largest room we had whilst in Italy for 3 weeks with an even bigger bathroom. It was also the first of many twin beds scenarios we ended up with in Italy. The beds were firm. It was a short walk from Roma Termini Station and you could also walk down to Old Rome in about 20-30 Minutes. We stayed here as a tour we were taking was leaving from here. The rooms were older style and OK for a short stay, this would not be my first choice if in Rome for longer than a night.

The hotel is perfectly located for Termini Station. I tis old fashion. The room are a little bit old but ok. The only thing is the mattress a little bit too hard. The room was quite the breackfast acceptable but could be better.

The front desk staff were very unfriendly so our first impression was poor. We stood there several minutes before we were acknowledged. The man was reviewing some paperwork. He wasn't engaged with another customer but didn't bother to help us. The hallways have an odor. The air conditioner does NOT cool well at all and it is hot in Rome! The furnishings are tired and drab and the bed is uncomfortable. The location is good but that is the only redeeming quality I can mention.

Massimo D'Azeglio has old world charm with a spacious, comfortable lobby. It is a very short walk to the train station which makes it very convenient to and from the airport, and for other day trips. The subway, and bus line are also close by, and it's even convenient to walk to many attractions in Rome. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious. And even though it is very close to a busy thoroughfare, the rooms are quiet. Included breakfast is pretty hearty by Rome standards. A sister hotel across ... Read more

We checked into this hotel in our last leg of our Italian experience and the cleanliness and size of the room bowled us over. It was the best hotel in our tour so far. Good location and the size of the room and the bathroom sealed our approval for Italy. We love the room and bathroom can easily hold three bathrooms of our previous hotels together. Well worth every amount that we paid.

Great location for further travels being 200m from Termini, the central station of Roma and the place to get the No40 bus- the bus that covers many of the places you want to go. Check it out, you will not be unhappy. Room and breakfast OK. However certain front of house staff need to be more attentive and smile more. You need to feel that you are not interrupting them. We met at this hotel for the start of a tour and felt having travelled so far they could have made us more welcome. I must s... Read more

We locked our valuables in the safe but couldn't remove them the next day, the code wouldn't work. Waited until business hours when a manager unlocked it for us and said we could use the same code again. The next night, same thing. They will unlock it at 7am but our valuables are unaccessible until then. We're leaving at 7.15 so sleeping most uneasily hoping they come at 7 as promised. Not impressed. We went for 4 nights as part of my 73rd birthday treat. With being a long time user of Booking . com and also because of a possible pilots strike just before,we booked much later then normal and got a fair price. I am not sure if it due to that or being retired and not very rich or just because we are not dressed in expensive clothes but the welcome could have been warmer. Having spent 30 years in the hotel and restaurant business I tend to judge a place by its personnel . About one third we... Read more

This was our final stop on a two week trip with kids through Italy and our only hotel. They were wonderful and so helpful. I inadvertently booked a 3 person room for our family of 4, but they fixed it right away and gave us a connecting single room without any issues. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Centrally located, 1 block from main train station, within walking distance of the Colosseum, Baths of Diocletian and Sta. Maria Maggiora Church. Granted, I was with a tour group so I don't know the exact price of the room, but I imagine this can be pricey at high season. Well worth it. Quiet rooms, even on the main street, Via Cavour. Great breakfast selection. Comfortable lobby to gather in.

The rooms in this property are smaller than expected but the location couldn't be better. The hotel is at a 5-7 minute walking distance from Termini station and for tourists, the hop on hop off busses stop is about 2 minutes away. The best hotels in Rome are within walking distance of the Termini train station. The Massimo D'Azeglio is about 450 meters from the entrance to the station (easy walking distance). Rome is a city for walkers and the Massimo cannot be better located. I stayed for 4 nights at Massimo D'Azeglio for business. The staff is friendly, location is very central in Rome, but the overall experience is far from luxury. Rooms are relatively small and furniture is very old. The worst experience ever is an insect attack during my sleep which left me with an injury for days. I couldn't catch the insect, but I couldn't think of any other source except from the room or the bed itself, which is really bad.

Perhaps the greatest advantage of this hotel is its location very close to the Terminii which is Rome's main Rail and Bus Station including the Metro. It is so easy to come and go in any direction of the city from this point. It is a fine hotel, rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Across the road is the sister hotel which has a rooftop garden lounge on the 10th floor with a sweeping view across the city.

We chose this hotel as it was close to Roma Termini station for an overnight stop. We were pleasantly surprised because, although it is a commercial, tourist hotel, it was reasonably priced and quite comfortable. It is on a busy street with trams but it is not too noisy. The restaurant offered good food served by friendly staff. We shall be staying there again on our way back to the airport and hope for a similarly good experience.
