In choosing a hotel in beautiful Ragusa, and bearing in mind that we were driving on a different side of the road to what we are used to at home, sought to find a hotel that would enable easy parking and access to old town without having to navigate the very narrow, winding streets. Looked at Google maps and TA reviews and came up with the San Giorgio Palace as a 1st choice - so glad we did. Things didn't go exactly according to plan as some of the roads that we were travelling on were closed ... Read more

Solid 4 star hotel with very easy access to the town. Very friendly staff (though sometimes doing multiple jobs), modern decor and gorgeous views over countryside. FYI if you are trying to decide where to stay between Ragusa Ibla and Modica...Ragusa Ibla is very walkable if you stay only in Ibla and not visit Ragusa Superiore. My experience in Modica was significantly more up and down walking but a beautiful town.

We stayed here for one night as part of a long weekend in Sicily. We visited Sicily originally on honeymoon a few years before and didn't have the time to get to Ragusa so when we planned a long weekend for our anniversary we made it a must do. Looking at hotels San Giorgio was the place we knew we were going to stay. The hotel itself is stunning, they give perfect directions to find the hotel and is located nestled amongst the town. The room itself was amazing and the bathroom was to die for. T... Read more

We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay at this hotel. The location is perfect for the centre of Ragusa, just a few minutes' walk away. There is a good hotel lift which takes you very conveniently to the upper levels with access to the town Our room was one of the recently completed, Garden Rooms. It was very clean and comfortable, stylishly decorated and quiet. It had an excellent modern bathroom with a very good shower. In addition, our room had direct access to a very pleasant te... We had a large room with an amazing view from a very large window, dark green shutters, overlooking the valley. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Chandeliers graced the ceilings that added old charm to a very contemporary hotel. I loved the small carved rose themed, large dark tiles that traveled up from the floor to the walls. Short glass 'walls' gave way to an airy hallway. Breakfast room was open with a balcony. Just lovely!! The staff was very friendly. The mattress was very hard! Sh... Read more

An outstanding hotel in a very nice town of Ragusa. Great location - you just walk out of the door to find yourself in the Old Town. The layout is very original: you walk in the hotel through a tunnel at the ground level. The front desk is on second level, the restaurant on the 4th one, and the exit to the town on level 5. The rooms are on all levels except the ground, I believe. Rooms very comfortable, wifi worked without a glitch, the staff professional and helpful. Highly recommended.

This is an old Monastery that has been converted into a very Modern hotel in the old town. You come in at the bottom, walk up a long cool tunnel corridor to the elevator and then up to the reception on the second floor. You have to go up to the 4th floor for breakfast and the 5th to exit at street level of the old town of Ragusa Ibla which is the area to stay in. Staff friendly and helpful, good breakfast. Great views from the balcony's on the 3rd and 4th floors.

We were touring around southern Sicily having visited noto and Modica in the day we checked in at San Giorgio to explore Ragusa. The hotel is very nice and modern and the room had a nice layout with everything needed. We had a view over the valley. The staff are very friendly and gave us lots of suggestions for local restaurants and how to access the old town sights - as well as how to get to Ragusa Nuovo. breakfast was very good with lots of variety and great espresso.

Booking a deluxe or superior room (‚?¨75 - ‚?¨80) at this mid-range hotel would be perfectly fine for a stay in Ragusa. Arriving by car at the base of the hotel is easy and convenient. There is an entrance gate to the hotel a few yards from where you can park (on the street) and an air-conditioned, secure "tunnel" where an elevator takes you to reception and rooms. When we decided to cut short our stay in the disappointing Syracuse, we booked a room at the San Giorgio Hotel at the very last minute. We parked our car at the bottom of the hill and proceeded via the lower entrance, through the always cool corridor leading up to the lift -- or what we nicknamed the hotel's "Batcave". The upper entrance leads into a small street in the old town, a few minutes away from the Duomo and all the restaurants and cafés. The San Giorgio turned out to be by far the be... Read more

This hotel made our trip to Ragusa a pleasure--the manager was welcoming, the breakfast on the deck overlooking the city beautiful, and the rooms were comfortable and roomy. All of the staff were very friendly, although getting a class a wine in a nearly empty bar at the end of the day was a little tricky (they seemed somewhat surprised by the presence of customers in a nearly empty dining room).
