We stayed at Hotel Posa Posa for 3 nights (April 30 - May 3) & we would highly recommend this hotel. It is in a great location. To get down to the main beach is a 15-20 minute walk. You can take stairs that make it quicker, but even the inclined walk is not too steep at all. We made the trip up and down 3 time per day with no problem. The staff are exceptional. The maitre d'hotel showed us around the hotel and even to the kitchen area where they were making fresh pastries and pasta. All of ... Read more

Great hotel with good staff and views to die for. Excellent food, and a walk (downhill. In this town, everything is downhill or uphill) to the shops and sights. A really nice place that I would recommend to anyone. We stayed for three nights and loved every moment.

Beautiful views which have nothing to do with the hotel which is mediocre and poor value for money. Unfortunately, these are our first impressions. However, as we are booked (and fully paid up when we checked in) into this hotel for six nights our impression of both value for money and it's apparent mediocrity may change. It's most certainly NOT a 4 star hotel by any international standard - plastic cups in the bathroom? none of the following standards; complimentary water, bathroom slippers, ... Read more

We stayed in room 104 which is very large. It has a double bed right by the French doors opening onto the balcony which provides an awesome view over Positano and the bay below. Two single beds in the room were useful for opening our bags onto and there is also a very comfy sofa. The bathroom is fairly typical with bidet and a shower over the bath (spa bath). Breakfast is included and we loved dining in the terrace overlooking Positano. Service was good, although not outstanding. The locati... Read more

Beautiful view of Positano. About a 20 minute walk to the seafront. If not in decent shape you may want to reconsider staying at Posa Posa because it is located high over town. Rooms are dated traditional. Internet is sporadic. Breakfast is passable. But lovely restaurants nearby. Pool is not much. Staff is very friendly and responsive. Not a 4 Star property. The owner who is from Sorento needs to put more work into the property to bring it to a 4 Star property.

Stayed three night at this hotel and the view is great. However the negatives outweigh the positives. I found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. The breakfast isn't anything special pretty much made up of pastries and fruit but are delicious. You can get eggs and bacon for an additional cost. The view while eating breakfast is marvelous. The rooms have a classic and old Italian feel to it but smell musty. Beds are hard as a rock and uncomfortable. Not sure if it was just our room but you can ... Read more

Hitel Posa Posa in Positano is a great hotel. Perched on the cliffs overlooking the sea it offered us a great room with balcony with a tremendous view. The staff were very helpful and the hotel is clean and well kept. Room was spacious and in house dining was fine. The pool on the roof is great too! Parking (extra charge) was only a minutes walk away which if you know Positano is a must if you drive there. Everyone was very helpful and all spoke English. Great place to stay.

The room is awesome! Beautiful view, nice sized, comfy bed and nice bathroom. The breakfast is amazing! the location is also very good! We were always walking to the beach, and to come back, if tired, get a bus that stops almost in front of the hotel. The restaurant near by the hotel are the best in Positano! We tried several, but those are the best! The best of the hotel, is the staff! Really friendly, kind, just awesome! Julio (at the front desk) explained everything about transportation, tour... We stayed in a family room which very comfortably accommodated four of us as it was quite big and airy room. The room we stayed in was decorated in a very traditional Italian style which we quite liked as it was a change from the lifeless modern hotels. The sea and town view from the balcony was awesome. The staff at the hotel were very friendly - "we will do whatever you ask us to do" was their moto and it was actually true, The check in staff - Maria and Julio - and the restaurant manager made... My husband and I stayed at the Posa Posa hotel as part of our trip to Italy. We were celebrating our 25th Anniversary and the hotel staff made it extra special for us! First of all, the front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. When they learned that it was our anniversary, the surprised us with a bottle of champagne on our special day! The room was clean and nice and the bathroom was fairly large (based on Italian standards). Our balcony had a beautiful view. The included breakfast wa... Read more

Our booking was very last minute.. We didn't have many options so went with it even though the reviews about the location were a worry! We are so glad we booked... The room was spacious, view was outstanding and the staff so helpful and welcoming! The walk from the town square only took 15 minutes max.. Not bad at all and with the view you get on the way up makes it worth it! There is a bus but we didn't bother using it! If you stay make sure you chat to the legends in the restaurant.. Giuseppe ... The staff are SUPER friendly!! They make you feel really comfortable. The view from the restaurant also known as The Mirage is simply breathtaking same goes for the view of the rooms which you can easily enjoy due to the balcony. The restaurant has also exquisite food and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Specially Giuseppe!!!

Hotel Posa Posa has a very friendly and accommodating staff. They helped us with everything we needed. The location of the hotel itself is decent enough, as it is right around the corner from some very good restaurants; but it is quite a walk (and not an easy one) to and from the city's center. If you have trouble walking uphill or up steep steps then this may not be the hotel choice for you, try looking for something closer to the beach. Our room was nice, definitely not over the top luxurious,... Read more

Hotel Posa Posa is situated in the hills of Positano, initially this was a concern for us (concerning the pricier more in demand hotels are by the coast) but the location was actually perfect. Up in the hills we found all the best restaurants, quaint shops and wonderful views! The front staff were helpful and kind. The room was very roomy & clean, with a nice view of the city. Overall, very pleased with our stay.

We enjoyed a spacious suite with a beautiful ocean view at our stay at Posa Posa. We ended up booking this hotel because our first choice was sold out by the time we booked our trip. What a wonderful combination of nice customer service, beautiful view & delicious food offered by the restaurant! The staff were very helpful during our stay including they're willingness to give us the restaurant cutlery telling us to return it whenever we felt like when we needed it for our dinners outside our ... We were happy with this hotel our travel agent found for us, though the room itself was just OK. We were prepared for crowds on the Amalfi Coast in July, but not the blustering heat. This place makes Atlanta summers look mild. It was about 15 minutes down the hill to the water, but after one trip back up using the stairs, we thereafter used the local bus which runs every 30 minutes and is crowded, but stops right in front of the hotel. Our room had good AC, but the WiFi was spottie, at best. If... Read more

After three weeks in Italy, I can say I am not writing this because of my North American standards being too high. This hotel was an average European four star hotel, a bit worse since its "pool" is three feet deep and full of bugs and look warm, but it has a good view and Positano is a different level for hotels. Anyway, my real annoyance was we paid about $700 Canadian a night for a junior suite with a sea view. Fine, it's positano. We check in during the afternoon, it was pleasant and we were... Read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our time in this fine hotel. This was the 3rd leg of a four part trip. Rooms were clean and attractive, access was easy with a bus stop 50 ft from the door and the staff friendly and helpful. Particular kudos go out to Maria Teresa at the front desk and Giuseppe in the dining area. I would gladly stay there again given the chance.

This hotel is conveniently located in front of a bus stop - the preferred method of getting around the major elevations of Positano. The hotel has a certain charm and old world elegance with an updated appearance. Given its location, I don't think there's a bad view to be had, but this is the dramatic nature of Positano. Staff was quite responsive, friendly and accommodating. In fact, when we arrived, not only were we escorted to our room, but were taken up to the dining area and introduced ... Read more
