A very well located hotel within a block of the main historic district. The staff spoke English and helped orient myself as well as parked the car for me. Rooms were large open and wire. The free Breakfast was in the beautiful dining room and had a large variety of dishes from which to choose.

We had a four night stay at the Sangallo Palace Hotel and it was most enjoyable. The staff were both friendly and very helpful ‚?? and most of them spoke very good English. The room was comfortable and quiet. Even though we were close to the bus station and a number of busy roads we didn‚??t hear a thing until we opened the balcony doors. We occupied room 504 on the top floor and it was well equipped. The bathroom had a shower and bath combined and the only slight complaint was that the hea... Read more

We just spent 5 nights here and were impressed from the time the car dropped us off until our departure. We selected this hotel largely influenced by tripadvisor reviews, but were wary because of some of the negatives mentioned. We found only positives. We had a superior room on the 5th floor which was spacious and light with French doors out to a large balcony. We had the doors open most of the time to let in the fresh air and enjoy the view-- a 270 degree panoramic view. The balcony furnit... Read more

Sangallo was great. Beautiful big room with a great view of the town and the countryside below. Morning breakfast had everything, I ate too much! But the best thing about our stay was the hotel staff. One person in particular (sorry, didn't get his name), helped us plan completely our itinerary to other wonderful hill towns, including easy transportation that didn't require the hassle of renting a car. He even accompanied us to the bus station to help with one particular trip. We hope we h... Read more

We had a great stay here. This hotel is 5 million minutes walk from the town center, the bus station, and the great station. The quality is quite good: the front desk and the waiters are very nice and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast buffet is quite rich and tasty. We will come back here next time

This is a modernised and comfortable hotel with a wide range of facilities. Everything worked well and service was excellent throughout. The Sangallo Palace is located close to the historic centre of Perugia, the Piazza Italia where the airport shuttle bus drops off. The bus station at Piazza Partigiani is very close by, which is useful in this steeply hilly city. Finally, the breakfast buffet is one of the best.

We were pleased with our stay at the Sangallo. Staff was friendly and caring, rooms are big and airy, good breakfast and wi-fi, and good parking arrangements. Within a very interesting 5-minute walk from the center through the Rocca Paulina. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is good and well appointed.

I travel a lot. Two things I look for are a comfortable bed and helpful, accommodating staff. Sad to say, I got neither here. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. It was way too hard and the pillows were the same. The staff barely acknowledges you unless forced to do so. I don' t get that at all. My friend had an issue with the a/c in her room. She was told that it was " just fine". We came to find out later that it was controlled by them and basically shut down in the... Read more

Sangallo is a remarkable hotel for both business and vacation, last but not least thanks to the very efficient manager Mr. Andrea Valigi. It is situated close to the mobile escalators to the ancient city. Breakfast covers both typical Italian and international dishes (buffet). They are well organized and can be of help for spezial wishes.

Has just one night here and it was serviceable . The bed was comfortable and the room a nice size, clean and tidy. Breakfast was adequate but the juices seemed watered down. Coffee just about bearable. The hotel staff well we seemed like we was an inconvenience to them couldn't be bothered, asked if they had a town plan gave us one that we could hardly see so small. Then in the morning on check out saw that they had proper tourist maps out on the reception desk that wasn't there the afternoon be... Read more

Stayed here one night. Location good - short walk to city center. Can't recall our room #, but would make sure you aren't on "street" side of hotel ... we heard traffic coming up/down the hill all night as we only had open-window ventilation in April. Bedroom and bathroom tight with dark wood paneling, with desk, small window seats.

We were very happy with the location of Sangalo Palace Hotel. If you are interested in the history of Perugia and exploring by foot, this IS the place to stay. You are walking distance away! The staff are very helpful and know where to go to eat, shop and see the extensive history in Perugia. We had one of our best meals in Umbria from one of the staff recommendations.

This hotel is modern and has a great location. The escalators to the top of the hill thru the old wall are very interesting and the inside of the walls are quaint. The hotel staff was very helpful and the number of common areas give many choices.

This is a wonderful hotel. First, a tip on GPS and parking. We circled by this hotel a few times before we found the trick. You'll go through a roundabout right at the hotel, take the exit out of the roundabout on Via Luigi Masi, it goes up a decently steep hill, make a left into the mini "upper" check in parking lot. After you check in, you drive your car to a parking area close by. The rooms are immaculate and clean. The shower is hot, strong and wonderful. They met us at the curb and offered ... Read more

One night stay only passing through on way further into Umbria. Lovely warm welcome by reception and staff very friendly throughout stay. Good location for setting up the underground escalators which are a must see in themselves. Room was very comfortable, modern and had everything you could need. Breakfast was generous on a self service basis. Thoroughly recommended.

I highly recommend this lovely hotel. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at while traveling in Europe. It's very clean and modern. The rooms are larger than what you normally find outside of the US, and are light and cheerful. It's centrally located and you can walk to bus station and city center easily. Staff is friendly, location is great, good breakfast. We came during the Umbria jazz festival and this hotel is ideal cause it's right next to the Arena. Not too long for the city centre too. To use the pool you need to provide a cap and extra towel with you. It's actually strange that they don't have towels and pool/gym related stuff in the area of the gym. All in all this hotel was a good choice

The Sanagallo is a vey nice hotel with very helpful staff. Our room was spacious and clean. One of the best things is the ocation as within a short walk you are in the Rocco Pauli where underground escalators take you up to the centre of town via a a series of once buried roman and medieval roads. It's spookily intriguing ad a great way to enter the historic centre. The TV channel choices in the room were a little limited, but the breakfast was very nice

We come back every year for Umbria Jazz. We love the convenient location. Hotel is NOT in the historic part of town but right at the escalators that will take you up. We love that we can decide when we've had enough music and want some peace and quiet. In the historic part of town there is music even after midnight. That might be nice but we appreciate that we have a choice. Nice size room. Great bed! Hotel very clean! Bathroom is equipped with amenities such as shampoo and soap. TV with interna... Read more

Whilst not much lept out at me as making this hotel distinctive, not entirely sure who thought it would be a good idea to place the toilet roll right where it could get soaked by the shower, all the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They even turned a blind eye to my husband and I dripping water from the pool in their lift - didn't realise you either needed to take towels from room or hire them.

Stayed here with a tour group. This hotel seems to cater to large tour groups, noticed 2 other major tour groups staying here. Location is very good, about a 10 minute walk into town. Rooms are a nice size by Italian standards. Bath room had a stall shower. Staff is nice and helpful. Buffett breakfast was slightly better than average. You get 2 bath towels per room, other towels are linen, thin and don't obsorb well. Hotel is about a 3.5, location 4.

Travelled to Perugia for business and chose Sangallo as it seemed very well sold. Slightly disappointed with the staff, I had to ask myself where the gym, pool and restaurant was, they barely seemed to welcome me. Rooms are spacious but not as luminous, felt quite claustrophobic. Breakfast was nothing special just good variety of pastry. No fresh fruit even though we were in mid summer, left me with the impression of a 3* instead of 4. They could definitely improve their services.

We found the hotel location near escalators leading to the main city square quite convenient. While the lobby appearance was updated, other areas were tired & simple. Our hallway was dark with a musty smell. The room was a good size yet really nothing luxurious about it.
