The lobby area of San Paolo looks nice, but the rooms are in serious need of a makeover. Everything is old/dated. And if you have a car, forget about easy parking....navigating around the hotel grounds on Friday night looking for a parking space was a total pain.

Had the misfortune to be accommodated in this hotel after a cancelled EasyJet flight stranded us in Palermo for an extra night. This was without a doubt the most awful hotel experience that I have ever had in my entire life. The first room we were given had foam in the side of the windows to try and make them weather proof (it didn't work as the wind and rain were blasting in through the side of the windows). Second room had hairs in the bed linen and finally my partner tried to get some breakfa... Read more

Quite a long walk to the city, feet are very worn out. The hotel lounge and outside appearance are very nice and there was absolutely no noise from our room so a good night sleep was always nice. Restaurant and bar, however, lack atmosphere (empty mostly at time of our visit). Nice enough standard room but the staff (except for a member of bar staff) did not aim to please at all, they need some customer service lessons!

Unfortunately this hotel is extremely disappointing when you believe you are booking a 4 star hotel. The standard is no better than what I have experienced from that of a 2 star hotel. We asked to be refunded and leave our hotel on the first day but unfortunately the answer was no. Walking to the centre is at least 45 minutes and taxis can be up to 20 euros in some instances - this I was not quite expecting. The walk isn't the nicest especially around the area of the hotel. The beach nearby is... Read more

This hotel was booked by our tour operator so it wasn't my choice. The San Paolo Hotel probably was a great hotel in the 80's. But nowadays is old, worn out and needs renovation. Apart from the large rooms and the good beds, nothing else is really worth it. And the worst parts are: - The terribly smelly room carpet! - The worst elevators ever! I wouldn't go back or recommend it.

Staff were really unfriendly. Whole facility was dated. Gym didn't work and breakfast was terrible eggs were off. Walls are paper thin so can hear lots of noice from other guests. Would never stay there again

Maybe it was because it was a pre-booked Leger holiday, but there was no menu, no choice, 3 fixed 'courses', and _very_ poor quality food. (Drinking) Companions told me that drinks were massively overpriced. Staff were disinterested. At least the room was adequate. I have complained to Leger about this and the lack of any Leger rep to oversee. This will be my second and last holiday with Leger, and I have told them so.

Bang in the centre of a residential area, it's this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful when asked for advice about the local area and also travel links to other parts. You need a car if you're to stay here but there are buses and a tram service. Drinks are reasonably priced. We liked the food from their restaurants but the portions are mass. The swimming pool is on the 14th floor and is clean. The views from the 14th floor is awesome. Mountains on one side and the sea the other.

far from city center. no public transportation at night. we walked for nearly half an hour to the MARINA area, and no taxi was seen. public parks were dark and walking uncomfortable due to absence of lighting and road construction. it seems to me that hotels in sicily suffers from air condition problems. a.c , mini bar and safe were out of order. changed room twice. rooms need renovation. breakfast was good. minimarket is near. 3 minutes walk.

the room was small, the bads are old and broken, ac was on and off all night so we couldn't sleep . the blankets old and musty, made me scratch so i asked for another, we got more sheets but no blanket. the staff was very nice and helpfull. you have to wear water cover for the swimming pool and they dont sell one so we couldn't use it. the fitness center open 24/7 but there is nothing good there, all the machines are broken and can't be used. very disapponting. the view from the pool is beutiful... Fair price but is not a 4 star hotel.A bit dated.Needs renovation. The area is far enough from the city center.Friendly staff. Not big variety at breakfast. The swimming pool area at 15th floor could be improved. The parking is free for those who have car.

I am totally confused why there are so many negative reviews. I came here because as a tour leader I had to. When I read the reviews I was dreading it. But, now I'm confused as to why people are so negative. The rooms are clean, air conditioned and cool, WiFi works all over the hotel, staff are friendly, breakfast was brilliant, supermarket etc close by, ATM in reception, internet cage in reception, lovely views, bathroom spotlessly clean, fridge, yes it's out of the city but the bus stop is ju... Room was standard city block style - no balcony, but the windows open - we had a sea view. Pool is very deep and swim caps are required. Quite a long way from the centre if you don't have a car. Breakfast was good. Helpful staff.

Old rooms..bad food..nasty attitude of the staff-we wanted to have a Kidush on Shabbat and the life guard did not wanted us to have it on the roof despite the fact that everything was coordinated before and to to stop the religous ceremony-I almost hit the antishemic bustard..there is nothing to do nearby the hotel-bad location...very bad deal

Pristine hotel. Safe, clean, with an immaculate pool. Great transfer service to mondello beach. Domenico was very helpful and knew allot about sicily and could recommend places to visit. Highly recommend this hotel but Palermo itself feels unsafe Wifi was poor.

Staff are friendly, but it is not a hotel to stay if you wish to enjoy central Palermo. I will only recommend this hotel as a business hotel. The staff are not really aware of the organised trips available. The breakfast is not really appetizing.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in October. We live in Israel and were on a week-long organized tour of Sicily, and we were satisfied with our stay in this hotel. We found the room to be comfortable, clean, modern-looking, and nicely furnished. We ate our breakfasts in the hotel, avoiding anything with meat (dietary laws), yet nonetheless we were satisfied with the selection and tastiness of the food. We found the entire staff, at the reception desk and in the dining room, to be friendly,... Read more

The hotel is a bit dated but staff are friendly and go out of your way to help you. It is located outside of the town so a taxi is required but there are handy, local shops very close by. The conference facilities are good and there is a roof top pool but it was closed when I stayed in October. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the view from the room over the sea and surrounding area is breath taking. My room was quiet facing the rear and the windows opened for fresh air. I needed to ge... Read more
