This hotel is in the heart of the city and offers rooms and breakfast, but no restaurant although it does have a bar. Eating out is so easy as it is surrounded by excellent Trattorias, bars, cafes and restaurants.

My husband and I arrived at this hotel late after our flight from Rome had been delayed. It was so nice to come into a large room with a comfortable bed and just lay down for a while. The hotel is within walking distance to several restaurants. In the morning we walked to the Palermo Cathedral and back, this walk took us through a market where people had set up booth with olives, meat, bread, etc. It was a nice experience that I wasn't expecting.

our holiday hotel was changed to rhis one at last minute. Hotel nar was closed whole of our visit so nowhere to gwt coffee etc. Teamaking facility in rooms had no milk or coffee and any items used on day one were not repleniahed during three days of our stay. Breakfast was ok but fresh fruit was limited to apples, kiwifruit and oranges but not pre-prepared like selection at uk Premier Inn chain. Coffee from machine was vile. Room facilities for hanging up clothes limited and no drawers or shelves... Read more

There were 6 of us (3 couples) and we stayed at the Garibaldi for a weekâ??s tourism. Itâ??s a great base for visiting Palermo and other towns by train such as Cefalu and Agrigentum. We can recommend it. The literature says there's a bar - there isn't. What is there is to provide welcome drinks to the incoming coach parties (Saga and the like). Don't think that you can drop in and get a beer Rooms facing the main road are to be avoided if you wish to sleep - weekends are specially noisy. We r... Read more

For me, Hotel Garibaldi's location is the best recommendation for the hotel. If you are taking the Prestia e Comande Bus from the Falcone-Borsellino airport, it is an easy half block walk from the Politeama Square stop (about a 40 minute ride from the airport). Also the entire city is very walkable from the hotel, and as others have mentioned, there are no shortage of restaurants close by. Modern decor, clean, pleasant staff---a solid 4 star hotel (European standard).

We enjoyed staying at the Garibaldi. Great & central location in a decent part of Palermo with plenty of local restaurants & bars nearby. We had a very large room with comfy bed & good air con - and fortunately it was at the back, as rooms at the front are on a very busy main road. Breakfast could be very busy if there are big coach parties staying. Staff were really pleasant and helpful!

Stayed at this hotel with friends our room was large with large bathroom walk in shower & bath room was cleaned daily, our room was facing the street so was very noisey one of my friends even bought ear plugs to block the noise at nigh! Hotel is in very good place,,, walk distance to all important places, bus stops to and from airport, to and from Mondello and all tourist attractions,,, room has lack of any items which makes place cozy and nice (empty white wals - it will change a lot if management will put something on the walls even the "cheap art"),,, air condition very very loud,,, breakfast good,,, very nice and helpful staff,,, overall hotel was good comparing the price I have paid (300e for 4nights for 3people instead of... Hotel is clean and the rooms are big. But sadly it hasn't has an charme. The breakfast is okay, but the staff could be a little more helpful. All in all it is a good hotel, but not as nice as expected.

We booked Garibaldi hotel from February and when we arrived at the hotel all tired from a long road trip they told us that they didn't have available rooms. They overbooked the hotel and as a result they send us to a hotel of the same company but it was in a horrible neighborhood with a lot of noise with very small rooms a weird smell.Overall they didn't apologize they didn't call us before to mention their mistake. When you book a hotel 5months before your arrival you don't expect this kind of... Read more

friendly and helpful staff. Bedroom and bathroom very well presented - clean and comfortable. Good continental breakfast. This is a city type hotel and excellent for easy access to sightseeing. Traffic noise could be a problem

Wow. From the rooms, to the view of Palermo to the staff. What an amazing place. Such a lovely hotel, top notch hospitality and the decor was gorgeous, spiral staircase, marble floors, modern decor in the room, old Italian shutters on the Windows. Coming back here in a matter of days and I cannot wait. Definitely would recommend!!

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Garibaldi in Palermo for our second stop of our honeymoon. We requested a quiet room with the staff prior to arriving which had been confirmed by the staff via correspondence. Once we arrived and checked in, we were informed that our room was ready which was great since we were a little early for check in. However, the room we were allocated was not a "quiet" room. It was a front facing room which faced the main road. The noise level was very loud due to the traffic... Read more

We spent 4 nights in this hotel when visiting Palermo and the surrounding areas. The location of the hotel is great as all the major attractions are within walking distance. The only negative thing about the location is that you have to drive in the center of Palermo if you're arriving by car. There's private parking available onsite. We arrived quite early (around 11 o'clock), but our room was ready immediately. Our room was on the inner courtyard and it was very quiet and nice. The room was s... Read more

For your first time in this amazing city this hotel would be a good choice. It's right opposite the Politeama Theatre in the upmarket central Piazza Ruggero Settimo area. Serves as a good base to explore the city which you can do easily by foot from the hotel - all the key sights are in walking distance. There's also a bus stop outside the hotel where you can catch the 101, that takes you to the central train station as well as the key sights but best to walk. Reception staff were really he... The hotel is clean with basic facilities. Towel heater is available for use in winter. The wifi is free of charge and works well. Convenient location suits both business and leisure stays. Acceptable breakfast. Moderate room size so do not expect accommodate large group or many luggages.

I stayed at Hotel Garibaldi for 2 nights on the 29th and 30th of August. I arrived late night with my rental car from Pmo airport and found the parking lot very convenient. Check in was efficient and I left my car keys with the overnight manager at reception. The room was clean and comfortable with a decent amount of space. The only downside was the wifi was down all night and non-existent in the lobby and didn't come back up until the early morning. The staff was nice and location was in the he... Read more

We stayed in this hotel as part of a tour group, maybe I'm being cynical but due to the hotel having a contract with the tour company they know there will be rooms occupied and maybe the assumption is that touring groups really only need a bed (definitely not true if our experience is anything to go by) the rooms allocated lack views, are in a noisy part of the building and are just basic, these boxes all ticked of in this case. The location is good, the rooms are clean, wifi works, breakfast ju... Read more

OK for the money if you get it cheap. Positioned well, just OK only in any other way Slack management allows for things which put one off. Reception staff can't do all when desk gets busy...young man multitasks with two phones, one enquiry and still manages to touch his man parts as Italian men often do. A good manager would notice: Breakfast Kiwi fruit going bad, day after day same yucky kiwifruit in the bowl. No fresh fruit cut up.....peaches are cheap in the market..but nothing but oranges a... We stayed here for three nights a perfect length of time for our visit and a perfect location for exploring this baroque city capital of Sicily. Our room was OK and was clean and quiet but with no view. The bathroom was a bit cramped though. To our joy there was a kettle and having taken our Yorkshire teabags were able to savour a real cup of tea for the first time on our tour of Sicily. Breakfast was proved to be the best of our trip we had plenty of choice that even included fried eggs and gri... Read more

Normally I would only rate this hotel with 3 stars but being located in the very heart of Palermo it would be very difficult to find better accommodation for sight seeing in this city. The bedroom was of an adequate size for a three night stay whilst the en suite shower room was a generous size. Our bedroom was located at the side of the hotel and therefore somewhat dull although quite considering its location. Although the hotel does provide a limited breakfast selection there is no restaura... Read more

We stayed for three nights in this charming city centre hotel as part of a SAGA tour of Sicily. The hotel is ideally located for exploring the many sights of Palermo. Our room was rather dated but clean and quiet, overlooking a side street with little traffic. Although the bathroom was a bit cramped it was very clean with all the usual accessories. Our bedroom incorporated a Juliet balcony which was south facing; ideal for relaxing after a long day sightseeing. Rather unusually for Italian hotel... Read more

Hotel Garibaldi is a good hotel in the middle of Palermo! Its near all the tourist attractions and you can do everything bt foot. Its near a pretty busy road so also during night there will be some noise of cars etc. I think this is normal for hotels in big cities. Breakfast was good and also the staff very helpfull.

Four of us stayed here for 5 nights in November 2016. I can only repeat the positives: great value, centrally located hotel. We had adjacent rooms on the 4th floor and whilst there was no view, the rooms were spacious as were the bathrooms. Have stayed in some hotels where the main bedroom was smaller area wise than the bathroom, so it obviously depends on what room you get allocated. The main room was spacious and clean and well kept by the service staff (thank you). I thought the breakfast w... Read more

The people were so nice, friendly! Centrally located in the centro of Palermo, a walk from many world heritage sites. They offered directions, maps, friendly faces! I felt so comfortable and safe! I lost my tablet, the police found it, and Hotel Garibaldi went out of their way to connect me to the police station to recover my tablet. I can't say enough for their guidance, concern and grace! And the breakfast! Eggs, bacon vienna sausage, pastries, cereal yogurt juices any type of coffee. Eve... Read more
