Living in Venice, but not able to host visitors I booked this hotel for me and my boyfriend. Good hotel, clean rooms, nice staff and good location - walk to tram for Venice was ~5 minutes and also easy to reach the airport. Breakfast was good - 3 types of juice, coffee, tea, pastries, toast, cereals, fruit, everything for a good start of the day. Minor thing is that the double bed was actually two singles put together. Despite that very comfortable room and perfect hotel for visiting Venice!

Arrived fine. Nice location. Easy to find. Safe parking (we drove our UK car there). Staff on desk very helpful. Easy access to Venice via really good public transport. Had a lovely one night stay here. Perfect as a bed for the night. We had a front facing room with balcony over canal. Breakfast adequate. Did the job fine.if I wanted to be a tad critical (constructive!) Breakfast room was cramped and the hotel could do with a tiny bit of updating the frontage and reception areas and stairs ca... This hotel is situated in Mestre, on the mainland. About a 10 minute tram journey from Venice. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke English well. Not only is the hotel 3 minutes walk from the tram and bus stop, but the hotel also sells tickets for both. The rooms are modest, but ticks all the boxes. Breakfast is spot on and there is also free WiFi. The only downsides I can think of was the shower in my room and at night the hotel guests were a bit noisy, but these things are q... Read more

Hotel San Carlo is perfect for visiting Venice, if you are trying to save yourself from the exorbitant prices of the hotels in the city centre yet want to be able to access the heart of Venice within ten minutes. The hotel is located on Forte Marghera, a fifteen minute bus ride away from Marco Polo airport. The bus stops just yards away from the hotel (there are two options, a shuttle that goes from Marco Polo airport to Mestre train station and will stop at Forte Marghera if you let the drive... The hotel was clean and a good value for the money. It is nothing extravagant but for the price you can't expect it to be. The location was excellent and is walking distance to multiple restaurants. It was also easy to get to Venice via a street car and you can get back at anytime day or night. Make sure you buy your tickets for the street car and valpretto (city run boat service in Venice) from the front desk at the hotel before you leave. You then just tap it once you get on.

We have stayed here 3 years ago and it was so nice to go back to familiar spaces.....like staying with old friends. The ownership had changed but we met up with the former owner who was very warm and welcoming. It is an excellent hotel, with a high standard of service and an ecellent breakfast is included in room rate. New trams have been recently introduced and offers a good service to Venice nearby.... buy tickets from hotel.. And they explain it all to you. Very helpful English speaking st... Read more

A bit worried to stay out of Venice when we booked this hotel but it end up being the best choice. The hotel is clean, good size room with bathroom, breakfast plenty of choices, very helpfull staff. It is very easy to get to hotel from Marco Polo Airpot, just take Metro Express Bus that costs $8 euros, the bus stop is about 30 mts from the hotel. To go to Venice there is the "tram" it costs $1.50 euros each way (about 10 min ride) or you can buy 24 hs or 48hs pass and ride at bus, tram and vapor... Read more

The hotel was an affordable option for us when we went back to Venice for the one night as we had an early flight to London the next day. It was very easy getting into Venice from here as the Tram line is behind the hotel and there are several bus services out the front, even to the airport. The staff are very friendly and helpful and you can buy all your public transport tickets at reception. A much more affordable option than staying in Venice itself as we had done previously. Room was clean... Read more

Friendly and helpful staff. Staff speak English, Spanish and Italian (and maybe more). AC works well. Breakfast ( included) was quite nice. Location is great. It's a short walk (two short blocks) from a tram stop for the T1 tram that zips to the island of Venice. Rooms were large by European standards

Rooms are clean with air conditioning. Close to tram stop for easy access to Venice. Reasonable value restaurants nearby. Breakfast is continental. Reasonable choice of food. Walls are wafer thin and so you'll hear everything. Not the guests fault. Advertised as having free private parking with no reservation required. This is not true as there were no spaces available when we arrived. On the last night we had to park away from the hotel and pay for parking. It was ?0.80 per hour - not a big... Read more

This has been the go-to hotel for Venice for our family for years. We come to northern Italy frequently and the hotel is very convenient to Marco Polo airport to return to the States. I can't add anything positive that hasn't already been said about Hotel San Marco. We use it primarily for the flight connection, but always manage at least a day in Venice while we're here. I suggest the 24 pass available at the front desk. At 20?, it more than pays for itself if you use it for just a few bu... Read more

We asked for a silent room on Booking.com, but we dont get that. When we checkin, we mentioned it, so they gave us a silent room, so its okay. They have private parking places, it was a big red point for us. The room was clean, but a little more "retro style" than expected. Typical one-night room, nothing good in it, but you can sleep without any problems. The breakfast was good, with enough options to choose from. (But the coffee wasnt as good as expected in Italy)
