The best part about this hotel is Location. It's just one Tram stop from SMN station and thus very close to all tourist attractions. River Arno is just a stone's throw from the hotel. Even the Opera theatre is across the main road. Perfect location, I must say if you enjoy serene and calm environment. For us it was better as there were ard 4 Indian restaurants close by. The hotel room was nice too. Spacious with clean bathroom and the view of snowy peaks was an added advantage we did not pay fo... Read more

In plus - staff was very friendly and polite. We asked to change room several times and although they did not know how to fix 'loud sound in the rooms' issue we had they always proposed another room - location is quite good - very nice lobby in minus: -paper thin walls. You can here everything that your neighbours or people on corridors are doing. I mean everything. - very poor breakfast. They have nice restaurant but breakfast choice is again very poor (1-2 kinds of cheeses, 1-2 kinds of ham ... Read more

A bit far of a walk from the train station. Doable but awkward with luggage - just far enough for a taxi probably if you have heavy luggage. Excellent value. Great rooms. Don't bother with breakfast. Close to river - solid 15-20 minute walk from central Florence (e.g. Duomo) but good way to start and end your day.

We were expecting a bit more from a 4 star hotel. The first room that we got was very noisy with bad view, second room was the same. Third room was the one we stayed in. There are no carpets which makes room less cosy. Bed was ok. We have stayed in many 4 stars hotels and this one had the worst breakfast selection: no fresh veg. Poor bread selection. Scrambled eggs were horrible. On the positive note it was right in the center of Florence with easy walking access everywhere.

A short walk to the historical district, this hotel is a quiet getaway from the business. Rooms are spacious and immaculate. Breakfast every morning is delicious and a big spread to chose from. The staff are most gracious and helpful. The lobby restaurant is a little pricey but the service makes it worthwhile.

We traveled with Gate1Travel,so they had arranged the booking and we were a bit nervous about the quality of hotel. However, we cannot complain about the Michelangelo. It was clean, had good service, our room really didn't have much of a view, but we did not spend a lot of time in the room, so that was not a negative factor for us. This hotel made me think of a '60's' style décor. Everything was clean and I found no negatives in the room. It was our experience everywhere we went in Italy, t... Read more

Great Hotel in Florence. The outside of the building does not look like much but the rooms are amazing. The Hotel lobby is a bit retro but very cool. Gabriel and others at front desk are very helpful with recommendations. Really loved it and would go back.

My wife and I stayed here while on a tour of Italy. We had an upgraded room and were very happy with everything. The room was nice and the service was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the bar/lounge in the lobby and had drinks and snacks there two evenings. The breakfast was just ok (cold eggs). All in all a good stay!

We had a great stay in this hotel. The rooms were wonderful, decent sizes and very comfortable. It is a good 15 min walk into the city centre, but then this should not come as a surprise if you check the location before booking. For this walk, you get a much nicer hotel for your money in my opinion. We ate in the restaurant once which was good, and the staff are very friendly. The only thing preventing this hotel from being 5/5 is that it advertises a "fitness centre", but it truly is bad. It... Read more

This hotel is remodeled and clean but do NOT fall for the air conditioning advertisement. They suggest they have air conditioning in the rooms. There is one little vent that blows out HOT air. I was up the entire night. Had 5 maintenance people in our room which was a show. The main reason it doesn't work is because the front desk reception area controls all the temperature levels. It's also spotlessly clean and well maintained. We stayed in room 310 It's a decent sized room with a comfortable double bed. The general level of service means a good hotel becomes an average one. We arrived after a long journey by car exacerbated by Florence's one way system which means it is easy to waste ime circling round the hotel to try and access it if you do not have an up to date sat nav. What a rubbish hotel this is! Don't let the name fool you. Unhelpful reception staff, no wifi, terrible breakfast just to name a few. Booked this hotel as I was heavily reliant on a good wifi and that's exactly what I didn't get here!! I informed the reception staff who said they would fix the problem but was never done. Had to switch roaming on. Breakfast is really bad. Very often you had only empty bowls and a very meagre staff!! In short, a very bad experience.

The location although not in the centre of Florence was very good as it was walking distance to the centre of town along a very pleasant walk by the river. We found the staff pleasant and helpful, breakfast good and have absolutely no complaints. We booked a family room as there were four of us and were given adjoining rooms to the delight of my children (and us of course).
