Loved this hotel, the view from the bedroom window was breathtaking. Had a lovely evening drinking fabulous mojitos in the bar and a great breakfast. Would definitely recommend this place. Close enough to access main attractions easily but enough of a distance to be quiet, just a walk away from most places.

We had a great time in Florence, check in and out was easy. The rooftop bar was very nice. The inside bar was also great and the one bartender in particular was truly fabulous I wish I remembered his name, but I do believe he has been there for quite some time. The breakfast was very good. The location was within walking distance to anywhere that we wanted to see. The concierge was really helpful. We stayed here for our 2nd of 4 stops in Italy. Pros; great service by house keeping, they went above and beyond keeping our room tidy and neat. Roof top bar; this is probably my favorite thing about the hotel-- this is a view I just wont ever forget. So stunning and pictures just do not do it justice. The bartenders also take good care of you up there, love the little snacks they put out. Its perfect to go up and enjoy the sunset before heading to dinner. I tried to make it up there every night... I stayed recently at Plaza Lucchesi Hotel for a wedding in Florence (I was a bridesmaid). The staff was amazing and so receptive - we had 40 people for the wedding and they went above and beyond service. The concierge assisted the bride with arrangements for a bus to the vineyard (for the reception) and arranged for a restaurant for the welcome dinner. He also dropped off welcome bags in each room for the guests. The hotel is lovely. The rooms are well appointed with the most comfortable... Read more

Lovely old hotel that has been completely updated! Rooms are fresh, impeccably clean and restful. Double-paned windows open for refreshing breeze. The view from the rooms overlooking the Arno river is tranquil, away from the hustling bustle of the center of town. Other rooms look toward Santa Croce cathedral and a nearby garden. Easy walking distance to the many tourist sites. Wonderful breakfast buffet, and a friendly, knowledgeable concierge. Rooftop pool has great views over the city.

We stayed four nights here while visiting Florence and Tuscany. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. Free wifi and wonderful views from the rooftop, free breakfast every day added to the charm of this hotel. We loved the location- near the Arno and Santa Croce- and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see.

I booked the hotel as I loved the view from the balcony and it was part of a special week in Italy for my husbands birthday. The room was lovely and the view very special. The balcony caught the sun so we could sit out and feel warm when the wind was a little chilly. The roof bar was special. It was too chilly to use the pool! It would have been nice to have a mirror in the bedroom, so I could do make up and hair without having to use the bathroom. I also missed a long mirror. The hairdryer was ... Read more

This is a great hotel in so many ways. First, location, it's right across from the Arno river and a short walk to many of the must see spots in Florence. My room was big with a large deck overlooking the center of the city. We could see the Duomo dome and many other landmarks. The breakfast was great, a very nice bar and lounge. They have a roof top pool and bar, we didn't use the pool but did use the bar for a night cap overlooking the city. A great way to end the day. The staff was great and h... Read more

When I booked a room at the Plaza Lucchesi Hotel I did so based on its central location in Florence and it was certainly worth it. Many of the city's finest sights are within a short walking distance, and the area has a variety of shops and cafés. What I didn't expect was the absolutely stunning view out over the Arno from our room, which was only exceeded by the view from the rooftop. This hotel is ideally located in a very scenic part of the city. Within the hotel itself, there is a wonder... Read more

From the check in staff, to the Concierge, to the breakfast staff, to the bar staff, all top shelf, friendly and accommodating. The room was bright, clean, with a wonderful Arno River view. The location is as good as you can get, close enough to everything to walk, but far enough away for some peace and quiet. A real bargain.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The panoramic view from the rooftop bar was exquisite. While the bedroom area was on the smaller side, the bathroom was spacious and elegant. The robes were a nice touch. The breakfast was delicious, featuring a few different treats each day. We enjoyed the location, because it was close enough to walk to all of the major site seeing areas, yet quiet.

The breakfast buffet was large and extensive for American and European tastes. Rooms vary in size and equipment but all were modern and comfortable. We want to give special thanks to Amine Saidi. Amine should be commended for his dedication and exceptional work ethic. He goes out of his way to make guests feel special and made our stay memorable. Amine is one of the most positive people we've met and he gives the Hotel Lucchesi a quality of service and personal attention which is rare. Hotel Lucchesi is a place we will surely recommend to others and visit again.

While the Plaza Hotel is along a strip of other hotels in Florence, it was too far away (and downhill) from most restaurants and popular sights to be considered within walking distance, especially in the summer months. The transit was not made any easier by the busy car traffic that passes in front of the hotel. A cab ride into town in the busy times is $10 Euros. This was my second stay at the Lucchesi - the first time I stayed here before the renovation and it was a pleasant surprise to see how much it changed since then. If you're looking to do a lot of train trips or want to be directly in the centre, mind that this hotel can be a little out of the way. A bus takes you to SM Novella in about 20 minutes and it takes about 15-20 minuts of leisurely walk to get to the Uffizzi - even quicker if it weren't a terribly hot summer. A/C was broken in room when we arrived (Sept - hot/90's); called front desk; waited 15 min- had to call again; guy that came didnt speak English - kept trying to tell me it was working. As a couple in our late 20s, this was the perfect hotel. It was convenient to sightseeing but also to fun bars and restaurants. We absolutely loved the rooftop pool and took advantage of the live music and happy hour. The hotel staff was very accommodating in particular the late night front doorman was our favorite, he was always there to great us late at night and debrief about the evening. Thanks again!

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The first time was in 2010 with my family. I enjoyed my stay then and once again my stay has been great. It's been refurbished since my previous visit and they have added a new bar downstairs as well as a roof top pool with alfresco dining and drinks. The staff are very friendly and all speak English (in case you can't speak Italian). Rooms are simple but functional. Air conditioning is silent and works very well and so does the wifi.

The hotel has a great location close to the city and close enough to Piazzale Michelangelo for a 20 min walk to see sunrise over the city. The rooftop bar offers fabulous views of the Duomo and cityscape which we enjoyed at sunset each day. Breakfast was better than most Italian hotels. It would have been good to have an iron available to press some shirts after days of travel. The second bathroom in the Family Suite was very handy when we all wanted to get ready at the same time. Our room was incredibly small and dark. I went to the main desk to request a different room but was told that the hotel was fully booked. There was a two floor suite available the next day. It wasn't that there weren't any other rooms , it was the attitude. It was not very friendly , it was this is it,take or leave it. Not traveler friendly.

This hotel was in a great location on the river and easy to walk around Florence. The rooftop offered great views of the city, live music at night, and a pool if you wanted to cool off during the hot midday hours. Our only disappointment was with the concierge. We chose this hotel as it is a short distance from the centre of Florence. The walk from the hotel to the Uffizi is only 10 minutes as an example. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. The rooftop bar has fantastic views and is a great place to relax after a day sightseeing. The breakfast was good, with plenty of choice. Our room was at the rear, so the views were not great. However, why sit in your room when there is so much to see and do?

The luchesi hotel is situated in a good part of Florence. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the food was delicious, fresh and plentiful and the staff were warm, welcoming and very helpful. The view from the pool area on the roof was stunning! On the down side, the rooms, although spacious, weren't as sound proofed as we were led to believe and the pool is on the small side....though as its on the roof that's not really surprising.
