Gorgeous hotel! Overall a great experience! We were greeted with champagne and a plate of strawberries which was so sweet. Each room is different which makes this hotel so unique. Our room had an absolutely enormous walk in closet, all wooden. It was so nice. Our breakfast was included in our rate and we really enjoyed eating in the 'library.' I do have to say that the waiters and waitresses did not work well under stress and were not very friendly when we asked for refills. Other than them, the... Read more

On our recent trip celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, we had the pleasure of staying at the Il Salviatino, just outside of Florence. From the sparkling wine and strawberries that greeted on us on arrival, to the room upgrade and champagne awaiting us in our room - gifts because of our anniversary - to the lovely included breakfasts served in a library, to the afternoon snacks and wine served on a balcony overlooking Florence, this hotel far exceeded our expectations. Set in lovely gardens in the hills above Florence this beautifully restored hotel is a respite from the crowds & heat of Florence. They have a shuttle to the center of the city. Service is attentive if a little quirky, all adding to the charm of this beautiful hotel. Chef creates delicious dishes served in the summer, on the terrace.

Beautiful location, and surroundings. Had a shuttle available to go to the city, which was very convenient. Great breakfast, service, and ambiance.. Would be even better during summers as the weather was a little bit chilly in April. Lot of outside space to relax, enjoy and good for walks around the area.

We had a great few days at this hotel with very friendly staff, good quality of breakfast, lunch, dinner (and great service), the room was spacious and clean (and quiet) and the hotel itself is a very pleasant resort like place, with a nice pool and beautiful gardens and possibilities to walk around. The views are great (of Florence) and the hotel is located 10 min drive from the centre and is indeed a very nice place to stay at! Would love to come back!

The Hotel il Salviatino is an grand and magical escape. This my third stay at the Hotel and once again an large but worthwhile indulgence. The setting and cuisine are outstanding! The service was a bit off of perfection this visit, but still great. If you stay, take a stroll around the property during the day or at night! The pictures and views of Florence are exceptional!

It is a perfect hotel to experience the tuscan beauty while still being close to the city. The service was 5 star. The views and grounds were beautiful. It was a 15 min free shuttle that ran every hour to in front of Duomo (central Florence) btw 9:30-8. or a quick cab ride. We debated staying here or 4 seasons and so glad we picked here. Spend an extra day just enjoying the pool and spa. The delicious breakfast on the terrace overlooking city was perfect. Lovely place for a honeymoon as was... Read more

Having spent 'top dollar' at Il Salviatino for a room and a suite during a long weekend visit to Florence with friends at the beginning of May 16, we were hugely disappointed at not finding a lavish breakfast buffet and/or exquisite a la carte menu, but some beautifully arranged frugal offerings on individual silly little trays! although we were told we could order other foods, there was no menu and having to 'think on our feet' we requested smoked salmon which they didn't have. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We stayed here for the last week of our honeymoon in Italy and it certainly did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with drinks by friendly and attentive staff who could not have done anymore for us and it stayed like that until the moment we left. We spent 2 days in the city then retreated to the hills for 3 nights at il Salviatino. Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Stunning grounds and beautiful views of Florence especially from our 3rd floor suite. The front desk staff was excellent providing us with great recommendations for dinners. The room was beautiful - however a little inconsistent - no washcloths on the first day- water was provided by our beds the second day but then gone even though we didn't drink it. The drive up to the property was stunning, it is set within a beautiful secluded location with amazing views, even though it's technically 15mins from the town centre you feel like you're miles away. When we first checked the hotel manager had upgraded us and asked if we wanted to have a drink whilst we waited for our room to be ready. We sat outside, it has just started to drizzle and admired the amazing view. The room (double deluxe) is beautiful and luxurious, though upon closer inspection yo... Read more

We loved this beautiful hotel with stunning gardens, refreshing swimming pool, large rooms with high ceilings and fabulous views of Florence. We were there for a birthday party and the atmosphere, service and food for the 30 guests was superb. The only small negative point in my opinión would be the breakfast included in the price of the room. We were given no choice but a plate of mortadela (which I hate), some pastries, yoghurts ,and pre-cooked scrambled eggs in a tiny pot. The choice of brea... Read more

We stayed at Il salviatino for four nights as part of our honeymoon. There was at first a large feeling of space. With just a few dozen rooms but many large open communal areas, there is space to roam around and feel at home. The rooms had all the mod cons yet have some of their original features. Breakfast (included) was healthy and large. The pool is nice, but not all the gym machines worked. Il Salviatino is beautiful, you cannot deny that. The rooms are very well decorated, the pool is beautiful and the breakfast is very special. However, for the money you have to pay, we found it lacking. Some of the facilities are quite poor, the gym isnt worth visiting. The rooms are great, although probably in need for a renovation. The bed was very comfortable, the large bathroom was well equipped. The staff proved to be very kind and helpful. We had a very nice stay there, and will probably come back.

Historical building in the hills overlooking florence, the sunset is a sight to behold. nice garden and very calm as it is outside of the city. the transfer to center can be done with shuttle every hour and takes about 30 mins does not run at noon or after 8pm. the rooms are spacious and luminous. the service is attentive and speaks good english. The breakfast was a letdown, the fruits were not ripe and the orange juice was very bitter a shame. the swimming pool was closed (first week of october... Read more

Gutted to have to write this review. We stayed here 3 years ago and were so impressed that we selected this place to be on our itinerary for our honeymoon. Sadly our recent stay was not what was expected and I fear complacency will be the downfall for this hotel. ARRIVAL We reserved the penthouse / the Ojetti suite for our honeymoon and you would think they were prepared for our stay. Reception were unsure of our arrival but no great shakes we went up to the room swiftly upon check in. THE R... Read more

We stayed here almost a year ago (in Oct 15 actually) for 5 nights. What a fantastic hotel! We were not blessed with good weather during our stay but that didn't matter as you could enjoy leisurely breakfasts (the best I've ever had!) and then hop on the shuttle bus into town which was very convenient. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking to switch off, unwind and be pampered in an understated way for a few days.

This hotel is a glorious building in a beautiful garden with wonderful views of Florence from its terrace. It is just outside Florence and is quiet and peaceful but a free hourly shuttle bus gets you comfortably to the centre of the city in about 15 minutes. We were upgraded on arrival to a junior suite - a lovely set of rooms comprising a sitting room, a bedroom, a shower room and a toilet. All beautifully but simply furnished, airy and clean. The room had free wifi, coffee making facilities an... Read more

I think the atriums in the garden rooms are one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I think the view from the hotel and the grounds are stunning. For those two reasons alone this hotel is worth visiting and paying the price. It is a magical place. The service was excellent. Nice, helpful and friendly. Everything you would want The food was very confusing for us. What I came to is they have potentially a brilliant chef who clearly understands presentation but who misses on some of t... Read more

This hotel is insanely gorgeous!!!!! The staff is so welcoming, friendly, and go out of their way to cater to your every whim. It was our anniversary and we were greeted with prosecco and strawberries in our room with a card. The grounds and views are breathtaking. We will definitely be back!!!! It's a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the touristy city....however they provide a free shuttle to get you there and back.

Excellent place with amazing view on Florence! Shuttle service provided by the hotel to Duomo and back every hour , the ride is just 15 min. If you miss it , taxi takes you from the centre for around 20 euro. Excellent breakfast slightly different every day depending on chef's inspiration. Very friendly and attentive stuff. The only negative point is an absence of iron in the whole hotel due to safety regulation of old buildings. The ironing service is provided by external company ( pls plan ... Read more

Travelled as a couple for a romantic 3 night break at this stunning hotel. Was a bit nervous having read mixed reviews but didn't need to be. The hotel building is absolutely stunning as you head up the long drive towards it. We had emailed in advance to let them know it was a special birthday trip and we were greeted at the door with a glass of prosecco and given a complementary room upgrade to a dome view junior suite (room 39 on the corner of the building). The service was impeccable througho... Read more
