Although the room is small, but it's right in the centre and at a walkable distance from everwhere you want to go. Room is nice, the vibe is good. It's Europe. The room key is pretty cool to look at. The breakfast spread was pretty decent. Coffee was amazing. The Hotel Staff is very very helpful. View from my room was pretty good.

We only had one night in Florence so we attempted to see as much as possible in the time available. Very close to the museum and the river which has some excellent restaurants within a stones throw. We found the hotel clean and the staff friendly. The room was slightly larger than the standard European rooms. If I found myself back in Florence I would certainly not hesitate to rebook.

Stayed here for 3 nights in May The room a/c was not on summer setting so stiflingly hot and difficult to sleep. Could not really open the windows as would make the room even more noisy as lots of street noise. The windows are not modern enough to prevent noise coming through. Having said that the hotel is elegant and the staff excellent. Breakfast is ok but not great. Considering the cost I believe there are better alternatives but it is ok in a perfect location.

Travelled down from Pisa by train for a two night stay. Great location, only 5 minute walk from station with all major attractions within a 15 minute walk. Room was great and staff all very friendly and helpful. The only slight downside is its location on a major piazza which can be a bit noisy on a Saturday night.

We stayed at the Hotel Roma on two separate occasions before and after a tour of Tuscany. I had booked an upgraded room with a view. On arrival, the view from the window of the Piazza S. Maria was lovely and we were pleased with the large room. That all changed as soon as we went to bed. The square in front of the hotel apparently is the centre for partying all night long. We listened to people yell, sing and carry on literally all night long. It ended around 5 am, just in time for the deli... Read more

Very good location, but don't go here if you have trouble sleeping when it's noisy outside! The hotel is on a busy corner at a lively square. Rooms are good and clean. Breakfast was a little bit disappointing.

The bedroom area was very spacious which is fantastic. The bathroom shower is great that it is a walk in stall but very small. There is no place to put your personal toiletries. It was close to the train station and we walked everywhere else. The service in the breakfast area was excellent, the sheets were changed daily and the rooms were cleaned very well. The noise outside throughout the night did not allow a restful sleep.

The hotel is in a good location to visit Firenze. Our room was clean but very dark ( court view) and with thin walls. It is a big hotel with very industrial type of services. When we checked in we didn't feel welcome at all. Bad first impression. Note that You have to pay the parking by Cash only. In the end, I think you can get better value for your money, even in a very touristic place like Firenze.

We stayed here a few years ago and returned because we liked the hotel and the location so much. Prices have gone up, as the hotel has had a lot of refurbishment. Our room had a great view over Piazza Santa Maria Novella - ideal for watching the world go by, as long as you don't mind a bit of street noise, which adds to the character of the place, in my opinion. The posh bathroom could do with more surfaces to set out toiletries, and a close-up make-up mirror. The air-conditioning was surprising... Read more

It was outstanding, we had a huge room which overlooked the square, electric blackout blinds a good hairdryer and plenty of plugs to charge all our stuff , it was an amazing view!! Our group of 8 (two families of 4) stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed the location of this hotel, but we had some other issues. Firstly, our family had a room that reeked of cigarette smoke as soon as we opened the door. We are non-smokers and requested same, but the hotel could not change rooms for us that night. They offered to move us the next day, but since we had an early morning tour scheduled, we decided to stay in the room, leaving the windows opened throughout our stay which helped... Read more

Florence is packed to the gills with people. We all know that. So it's wonderful to know you can retreat after a frenetic day to a place that is easy to get to, perfectly located, gazes on the Santa Maria Novella and is staffed with lovely people. I especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which was abundant, and the sincere and professional staff that work there. Always cheery, every morning. The perfect way to begin a day in this outrageously gorgeous city.

This hotel is such a find in Florence. The location is very central and in easy walking distance to SMN train station. There is a great buzz in the piazza and once you walk inside it just continues to get better. The hotel is beautiful and our room was even nicer than expected. Modern, with beautiful furnishings & flooring. Mini split level with lovely large windows and a super comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. The staff were very helpful and we will most definitely stay here again!

The service at the hotel was efficient friendly... even the unhappy looking guy that took our bags to the rooms was efficient and courteous. I ended up referring to him as Lerch. Ha ha. We loved the location and easy access of this hotel. It was definitely dated and the worst of the three we stayed at on our Italian adventure. Hotel has a great location. Front desk staff are very helpful at anytime of the day or night. Breakfast is awesome and staff are very friendly and love to chat with customers. Room is very spacious and clean but the A/C is awful. Forget about WiFi in Italy since it's the worse you can find around the world so wifi in the room and the lobby are extremely slow so don't try to book a train or a museum because it won't connect and will time-out from your phone or laptop.

If you need somewhere to stay for a night or two that is affordable and close to the station, Hotel Roma is a good choice. Our room, on the second floor of this rather dated, art eco-style building, was nice and quiet, as it faced away from the busy street. Hotels in Florence are not cheap. However the hotel Roma offered good value for money we had two connecting rooms a double for us and a triple for the children. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were excellent. The service was good and the breakfast (for Italy) was good (Do not expect and American styled breakfast). The location was excellent right on the Piazza Santa Maria Novella which made it easy to access from the railway station. This is my third stay in Florence and I would no... Read more

Good hotel with decent size rooms. Good location. Expensive for what you get. Staff a bit snobby and well coached to address issues. Air conditioning does not cool to US standards, room thermostat does not control temperature, controlled from front desk, would not lower temperature. These have been instructed to spin the issue and eventually provide a 'FAN.' Free european slow WiFi. Breakfast average.

Mint Rooms, great location, friendly staff! I stated during the last day the of Le belle Eboque festival. Called at the last minute, gave me a very reasonable rate. The room I had was located with a great view of Florence at night. Walking distance of train station.

We were to stay at another hotel nearby, but due to a hotel booking glitch, they provided accommodations for us at Hotel Roma. We loved the location, so close to the train station and right on the Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. We were able to walk everywhere and we found the staff to be incredibly helpful. Very nice room. I would stay there again.

Second time I have stayed there. Convenient to the train station and sights of Florence. Nice to sit on piazza. Music by local individuals. Sitting areas in front of church. Breakfast is nice with plenty of selections. I had desk staff contact my walking group to confirm meeting time and place. Very helpful and pleasant helping me. Enjoyed my return visit.

Stayed for 2 nights during 2nd week of Oct, with my family: 2 adults, 2 children (7 yrs, 12 yrs) in quadruple room. Rooms size was very good, spacious, beds were comfortable for us, room was neat and clean. Location is great. Walkable from railway station. All the main attractions are walkable from the hotel. I could walk to the main attractions from the hotel along with my children. Many restaurants nearby. Loved the breakfast, it had good spread. Pricewise I found it to be little expense as c... Excellent Location rooms very good and modern. Group of 9 friends stayed here in three triple rooms, each room more than adequate for three people. Nice restaurants nearby and close to the train station. Would recommend and would come back.

The location is excellent, only 3 minutes to walk from the main station. The room was amazing, pretty, clean and with a comfortable bed. What really messed up the stay was that we barely slept at night caused to the traffic-noise. We stayed at the 4th floor, had the windows and the louvre closed and still didn't sleep. So when booking a room you should ask for a room to the backside of the hotel. Breakfast was great, service was excellent.

Booked hotel for short break (3 nights) in Florence for 2 couples. Hotel was very well situated in the main square and within walking distance to all the main sites. No shortage of shops, restaurants and bars surrounding the hotel. Rooms were spacious and well equipped with all the usual supplies of toiletries. Given that the hotel is located in the main square, there was no traffic noise to be heard. The views at the rear are sparse and a front facing room would be recommended. Rooms were clean... We stayed at Hotel Roma in August this year. The hotel is gorgeous with one of the best lobby areas I have ever seen The service was 1st class, the position amazing, right on Santa Maria Novella Piazza. This is just a very short walk from the station, even dragging luggage. The breakfast in the dining room was fantastic, with everything you could want and more. So allow plenty of time to linger over breakfast and enjoy. The service we received at breakfast was brilliant, they even made us o... Read more

I stayed at the Hotel Roma for 5 nights on a recent business trip to Florence. The hotel is very centrally located, close to the train station and in the Piazza Santa Maria Novella. Very close to all of the historical sites, and lots of good restaurants. My room was plenty big with a double bed, a decent sized bathroom with a good sized shower, some chairs, etc. I could have used a dresser, but I made do. Everything was clean - no issues with housekeeping. Breakfast was not the best, but it was ... Read more

We were there in early November and had a wonderful time in Florence. Hotel Roma is centrally located on a piazza. Everything is within walking distance with great restaurants and shops close by. The breakfast included is actually very good - one of the best on our whole trip (Rome, Florence and Venice). Our room was clean and comfortable overlooking the piazza which is great to see the city life happen in front of you but it was also a bit noisy all through the night. Apart from that I would re...
