From a none complaining couple who have been to many very basic hotels - please take note of this review! This hotel was booked for us as part of a trip to Rome, Florence & Venice. All 3 hotels were 3* hotels chosen by the tour centre. This hotel cannot even be rated as a 1*. On arrival at this hotel we were greeted by a man behind a reception desk whose appearance can only be described as dirty. There was a very unkempt lady sitting at a table which the man informed us was the breakfast area. T... Read more

After reading the reviews, I must have had very low expectations of this hotel. Maybe that is why I thought that my stay here was good. The staff are friendly, was allowed to changed to a twin room even though the tour operator made a mistake and booked double room for us. Also rather enjoyed the breakfast, seems to be home made. The major con is the location. Found it difficult to reach the centre of Florence even thought there is a direct bus.

The fact there was gated parking. Check in was very slow. After a long distance of travelling in the early hours of the morning we just wanted to get into our hotel room. Staff could of also been more friendly and welcoming.

If this is a 3 star hotel someone is being paid off. No hot water. Toilet didn't flush completely. Curtains not blacked out so anyone could see in. Dirty - cobwebs on door frames. Only redemption - walkable to the airport. Need I say more????????????????

Being close to the airport has huge benefits if you have an early flight to catch. I did not so the hike into Florence became a bit tedious however the public transport around the area is not too bad. Word of advice when catching public transport. Don't bother to buy a ticket. The locals don't. One huge benefit of this location is its proximity to some local eats which are great value. Not far down the road is probably the best Florentine steak you could ever have and there is a supermarket no... Read more

Just to let you know I rarely complain. This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Room stinks of sewage. It is almost impossible to open the flimsy windows. You have to force it. It was impossible to close the shutter. Bed had springs poking me all night. Bathroom was dirty. Am not even gonna go about shower... Walls "decorated" with dead insects, plenty of very alive mosquitoes. Bamboo mat for shower - foot fungus, anyone? One working plug. Breakfast was includes in the price, but upon a... Read more

We were already in Florence and in a hurry to find a place to sleep in a few hours. Hotel Real was the first one that appeared on Booking for 50 euros per night. We didn't care much, so we booked it immediately. The hotel is located at the end of town, in a fine neighbourhood, easy to reach with navigation. The staff was very friendly and welcoming! The hotel is old,as was the furniture in the room. The bathroom was big enough, but the shower was in a small and potentially dangerous bathtub with... Read more

I'll be honest. I booked this hotel due to a little mistake. It was fairly cheap and I thought I had looked at the map to see how central it is. When we got into Florence we decided to make the first stop to the Hotel, when we saw the outside of it our stomachs fell a little bit. It does looks rather shoddy on the outside, and on the inside it looks like it hasn't had a makeover for some time. It's also over and hours walk from central Florence, but there are buses to take. But... The service... Read more

We had to spend one night in this house of horrors because the hotel we had originally booked with, said they had overbooked the hotel and had already lined this place up for us. Don't ever let a hotel do this for you. And to top it off, the original hotel made us pay them instead of the hotel we were ultimately going to stay at. This is not an acceptable practice and never fall for it. It was clear the two hotels had something going with each other. Our first mistake was paying them, our s... Read more

Truth be told the hotel doesn't look like much and neither do the rooms. It is really low, low budget. They seemed to be clean though and my stay was good other than the fact that the WiFi never worked. Location wise it is not great, but it is not terrible either. You have to take a bus to the city's historic center but they're frequent and the ride isn't long. Doing it on foot takes around 1 hour and there's nothing to see on the way so I don't recommend it. The staff however was one of the f... Read more
