Excellent location for visiting the city, very clean and the service was great. Pleasant appointments in the room, old style furniture matching very well the area and what one could expect in a beautiful city like Florence. Good access to transportation and walking distance to all one must see. Great breakfast, basic but of quality, well presented and well serviced. Quaint and beautiful interior yard for breakfast or an expresso.

Just returned from a four night stay here with some friends. We had been recommended this hotel from some other friends and we weren't disappointed. It is ideally situated within walking distance of all the sights of Florence and plenty of lovely restaurants. The rooms were lovely, beautiful high painted ceilings and beautifully furnished in keeping with the age of the hotel. Lovely comfy beds and large bathroom. Good breakfasts, and lovely coffee! Wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to... Read more

Great location, comfortable and clean. A great breakfast too. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English well. The views from the rooms were absolutely amazing!! we walked around to all the tourist spots without needing to take any form of transport. There are restaurants and pizzerias just on the same street, and local grocery store for anything you may need.

First lets just say this is not a four star hotel. I suspect the 4th star is to enable the city to claim a bit more tourist tax. It's very much in the three star 'small and friendly' category, and as such is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful without being pushy, the room was lovely old-style, but with modern bathroom. Breakfast was excellent quality although choice is a bit limited if you come late. Reasonable price and close to bus and train stations. Recommended.

The hotel caters well for a family of 5. The family room is located on the ground floor and is massive with plenty of space for luggage and kids to play. The room has character and provides good value in Florence. It is around 5mins walk from train station and 5-10 minutes to the Duomo. The breakfast is good. It isn't the fanciest accommodation we have stayed in but it is clean, convenient and reasonably priced with good free wifi. There is also a laundromat a few doors away which charges only 9... We booked this hotel on Expedia, although it was our second visit. The only reason I didn't give the hotel 5 stars, is that we were put in a room with a lousy view right off the elevator. I suppose this was more an Expedia issue than the hotel, however. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The rooms for breakfast are quite lovely and the outside courtyard is where we enjoyed a nice breakfast and coffee. I would stay here again, but ask for a nicer room away from the elevator and wi... We enjoyed our stay here quite a bit. The room is spacious and pretty. Most nights you can hear live music from the balconies. The hotel is fun to explore, is elegant, and the staff is very helpful. Special shout out to Ricardo who helped to lower our stress related to the trains. We had a great time and would recommend it to any couple. It is close enough to the city center to drink at night and walk back, but far enough to sleep in silence!

This is a review of our twin bed/double bed standard room. It is just as they appear on the website, whites and muted green. Elegant and compact and with a very nice bathroom. The small garden area is perfect for breakfast and maybe tea later

This is a beautiful hotel with such charm and character and our room was comfortable, airy and elegant. We found the staff pleasant and friendly, especially Rocco, a night receptionist, who went out of his way to be helpful. The experience of being in the wonderful city of Florence was certainly enhanced by our stay at Palazzo dal Borgo.

Nice pretty old hotel situated not far from station, convenient location for key sites., great views from back rooms. Take mosquito repellant youll need it. The hotel provide a plug in one for the room. (Keep your windows shut.) no tea /coffee facilities in room but was a mini bar. Beds really soft. Breakfast unfortunately not much selection available and croissant /pastries were burnt. Expensive hotel but most 4 * hotels in Florence are. .

This hotel was an absolute delight to stay in. Conveniently located mere minutes from the station; this hotel oozes rustic Italian charm. Our room was spacious, well decorated and clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We were thankful of the air conditioning in our room and the access to a fridge. I read reviews about this hotel before staying, that states that the hotel was dirty and breakfast was poor. This was not at all the experience we received. Breakfast was limited but well co... This hotel was one the most pleasurable stays we have experienced. The staff treat you like family answering all inquiries and catering to any request you may have. We were able to check in early and since breakfast was being served we were told we were welcome to partake. The breakfast is continental style with a good selection to start your day, the coffee comes in any style you request from your waiter always hot and always fresh. Not up to the standards of previous palazzi that we have enjoyed. Pretty basic though centrally locally. Staff friendly. Breakfast was extremely basic. Scrambled egg was crumbly and almost inedible. Orange squash - a shame for a country producing so many fresh oranges. Fresh fruit salad on day one became tinned fruit sald on days two and three. Room was basic. Room six was kitted out for disabled travellers. Booked through Citalia - we won't be using them again as two of the three hotels they su... Read more

We had an amazing view from our room. It was nice and big. Breakfast was good and the staff were so nice. We had many bugs in our room which was annoying. You have to leave the key with the front when you leave, which worried me at times. When we would ask for the key when we came back, they wouldn't ask for ID or anything. There was no parking available which was a downside. Lots of stairs even throughout the floor which made it hard with suitcases. The location is good, near the train station,... Read more

Lovely characteristic hotel. Friendly staff - most of them speak English and appreciate when you try to speak Italian even if you're terrible like I am! Air- con in the room was very effective. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and decorated to a very good standard. Only slight disappointment was breakfast - it was good but slightly limited options. Mosquitoes were an issue but that's to be expected in Florence in August.

This is a beautiful old hotel which was once a Medici palace and still has some of the frescoes. It is situated right in the heart of Florence only a 5 minute stroll from the railway station - everything in Florence is within easy walking distance from here. There is a very good restaurant virtually next door and only a five minute walk from a very reasonably priced Carrefour express supermarket. We stayed in a junior suite (#64) on the 3rd floor (there is a lift as well as stairs for those w... Read more

We had 2 rooms, a standard and a suite. The price difference was not that much, but the quality and size was massively different. The larger room was the size of a football field, it was had a lot of old world charm, beautiful rugs, very fairy tale-esqe. But the standard room was tiny, dark, not great... At all. They have a lovely courtyard, the staff is nice, not overly friendly, but pleasant enough, in an ok-ish kind of way. Great location. Nice breakfast.

On the website we were shown impressive pictures of rooms with fresco's. In reality the room was very plane and the view was on the street. What disturbed me much more is that I accidentally left my wedding ring in the room and did my check out. I contacted the hotel when I came to this conclusion 3 hours after checking out. I was told the ring was gone. Their housekeeping is apparently allowed to keep whatever a guest leaves in the room after checking out, since their reception is too chicken... Read more

This was a wonderful hotel with friendly helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location was excellent, just a few doors down from the Santa Maria Novella shop, which I loved. It is just an excellent location all around. Just a few blocks to the train station and right in the heart of everything. The rooms were nice and clean and the breakfast was lovely. I highly recommend.

Our first day in Italy and a brief stay in Florence. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist and helped to settle in by an equally friendly staff. After spending half a day in airports and planes, it was a joy to sit in the quiet courtyard adjacent to the small hotel bar and be waited on by an attentive hostess and waiter. Our room was ample, nothing extraordinary, but certainly not disappointing, with a beautiful view of the Basilica Santa Maria Novella from our window over the jigsaw puzzl... Read more

The staff is friendly. The rooms were clean , spacious, and comfortable. The building and its decor makes you feel you are stepping back in time. There is a walled garden for relaxing with a glass of wine or enjoying the breakfast they provide. The street is not what one would call scenic but the hotel is centrally located with restaurants nearby. A book, written by a family member, is provided as a gift to guests available in Italian or English. We have stayed here twice and were made to feel a... Read more

I would return to Palazzo dal Borgo without question. My room was not big but comfortable and my friend and I enjoyed our 3 day stay there. The breakfast courtyard is an oasis in busy Florence. I celebrated my birthday during my stay and I was touched to find a chilled bottle of prosecco with two glasses in my room on the day.

If you appreciate art and history you will love this hotel, which was converted from the renaissance palace that belonged to the Medici dal Borgo Family and is one of Florence‚??s historic monuments. There were no complaints regarding the service, the rooms or the breakfast. We booked a triple room. Stayed here for our wedding anniversary at the end of Sept 2016. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room we had was spacious with a good bed/mattress/pillows, working aircon and two bathrooms.
