This is a beautiful hotel, originally built in the fourteenth century as a palace. The history is still visible - everything is beautiful - stone pillars, pretty windows, stunning statues and paintings - so atmospheric. As soon as you arrive, you feel special. I went with a friend and we stayed in 'superior' rooms reached by walking through the glorious and well-kept gardens which were full of azaleas and roses, a lemon tree, etc. My room was not massive, but was plenty big enough, spotless,... Very nice hotel - good solid breakfast and coffee, location is central, wonderfully decorated, and rooms in what appears to be a historic building. Staff were unusually friendly and helpful, way beyond expectation. Single downside is that the wifi is great. It works, but the room I had didn't have the strongest signal. Pretty typical for many hotels I've stayed in really. Not a huge downside really - you should be out sightseeing in any case!

You feel like your are staying in one of those 14th century palaces here...wooden ceilings, marble staircases, oils paintings, statues, indoor gardens and tapestries on the walls. Great breakfast and extremely helpful reception staff who helped me book trios and busy museums.

The moment my friend and I (both ladies in their 60's) stepped through the door at the Monna Lisa Hotel we knew we had chosen well. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly. There was a porter waiting to caryy our cases to our rooms and he showed us the lay out of the hotel and where the breakfast room and bar were situated. Breakfast was varied and beautifuly presented with attentive waiting staff, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifuly decorated and the slippers and bat... Read more

This hotel was a family home to prominent Florentine citizens from 1300. It has many of the original features and is decorated with works of art. It is in a narrow side street, so the location is quiet, yet it is only 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral and the Uffizi and other attractions. The staff are welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast buffet is substantial.
