Location is difficult to beat, close to all attractions, Arno River, Duomo, you name it, it's walking distance. Now the hotel is very dated, small rooms, realy no shower to speak of just a hose. I , personally would not stay here again but we are all different. On the bright side, great service, breakfast and did I mention. .location

Location can not be better, in the heart of the place, but,,, The beds are hard like a rock, the floors are not clean or cleaned in the room. Windows are not of any quality since you hear the garbage trucks at 3 am, one night, the next night at 5 am the streets are cleaned with pressure hoses and you can not not hear it, so good full night sleep is not possible. The staff is great, the breakfast is good and the view from the roof top is great. Again the location is great but don bank on a full n... Read more

Great location on The Arno next to Ponte Vecchio, around the corner from the Uffizi and about 10 min to the Duomo. Beautiful old world charm with all the mod cons. Sound proof windows, amazingly beautiful roof top terrace (for afternoon drinks or anything really!). Very welcoming staff. I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. Basic continental breakfast. 3 euro extra for eggs, and 3 euro extra for bacon. Good capuccino, fresh juice. Charming room, but very small bathroom. The rooftop dining was not opened yet due to the weather according to the staff. Very clean. Great view! I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is in a fantastic spot at the end of the Ponte Vecchio bridge, 5 minutes from the Uffezi and easy walking to the Duomo and main attractions. Rooms are clean and comfortable if a little small and dated but fine for just a couple of nights. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast and lovely roof garden with views over the river and bridge. Position more than makes up for any slight negatives.

Our third time in Florence, third time here. Think I originally found it in late 90s in a Karen Brown book. Glad I did. It is old...what isn't here in Florence? Rooms decorated accordingly (you want American, stay in a Holiday Inn). It is quirky. It is fun. It is excellent service. It is great location. It is the incredible rooftop breakfast. It is drinks with fellow travelers in the old common room. It doesn't break the bank. It's where travelers stay who love Florence.

We were so thrilled to arrive at Hotel Hermitage via taxi--we knew we were in the best location when our taxi had to drive at a snails pace as we approached our hotel due to the crowds of people walking leisurely in the middle of the streets. This meant we were in the heart of Florence and at the hub of all the beauties Florence has to offer. The hotel is quite snug (tiny elevator), but the staff was so sweet and proactive. Our room was nice, even if the bathroom was out dated. The continental b... Read more

Cannot say enough about this wonderful boutique hotel with the amazing location! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was very clean, good sized and modern. Our daughter joined us on the second day and they squeezed a single bed in which made it a little tighter but manageable. Beautiful breakfast room with a view and nice selection. The rooftop patio and garden overlooking the Ponte Vecchio was wonderful!! Staff was helpful and friendly. We walked to everything from ... Read more

Perfectly located about 400m from the Uffizzi and Ponte Vecchio but still very quiet. The rooms are clean and comfortable and quiet. The terrace is especially comfortable and ideal for a glass of wine / coffee with a view of the Ponte Vecchio and a window framing a view of the Duomo. Service is charming and personal with the staff happy to recommend restaurants and to book concerts, which we would recommend. The location is perfect, near ponte Vecchio and close to all the main tourist attractions. Breakfast could have more fresh fruit options. Rooms are simple but clean, a little small. The reception works only fro 7-23, and they close the door after 11pm (guests receive the key on check in). If you're arriving after that better let them know. Nice staff!

We just went for breakfast in this lovely hotel, although the terrace was not open for the breakfast the morning we went, but the delightful lady at the reception agreed for us gladly to have breakfast there when we told her that we read about it in a guide and came especially for the lovely terrace. I shall let the photos speak instead.

I stayed at this hotel about 20 years ago and it hasn't changed one bit and that's a good thing! The breakfast is lovely (I had cappuccino every day!!!) and they have a penthouse terrace that overlooks the Ponte Vecchio. You cannot beat this central location. The staff is still as lovely as I remember then being. The rooms are beautiful too. I am happy to highly recommend this place all these years later!

You cannot beat the location of this hotel. Right next to the Ponte Vecchio, and within walking distance to all the major sights and museums. If you get tired after an afternoon of museums and walking the city, just stop by the hotel for a break and a drink on the rooftop. Cannot beat it! This is a great little place to stay if you're in Florence for a short break (we were there 4 nights). The location is perfect. 10 yards from the Ponte Vecchio and a short walk to all the major sites. The staff are friendly and the rooms are what you need. They are not generous on space - this is after all a traditional hotel and the ensuite can be tiny. It was also a bit of a shame they did not have a fridge or tea/coffee making facilities in your room. But the hotel is spotlessly clean and tid... Read more

Chose this place based on the reviews, great price and location. Was not disappointed by any! The location superb if you want to be in easy walking distance to Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Della Signoria, Altre Arno and on and on. Rooms are basic but nice and cool after a hot day of walking in July. The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is right in the middle of Florence centre and across the road from the river. You can walk to so many restaurants, shops, museums, Duomo, train station etc. The hotel itself is an old building, which is normal for Florence. You would only get a modern building if you left the centre. It has a nice breakfast dining area which offered a nice Italian style breakfast (do not expect bacon and eggs in Italy). It was really hard to find, because they are in a side street off the main road but i have to tell you, this place was a true gem. We had the best service from start to finish, Monica was absolutely delightful! She responded quickly to our emails, answered all our questions, and gave us great suggestions on where to eat and what to see in Florence. We can't wait to go back!

if you like modern hotels with gyms, and spacious elevators this is not the hotel for you. If you like to breathe the feeling of a traditional hotel don't hesitate to book this extremely central hotel when visiting Florence. The atmosphere is amazing, make sure to have a glass of local wine on the roof terrace if the weather allows. Our room was small, but we didn't plan to spend much time there. I stayed here with my husband for 3 nights in total. We had a few challenges in the beginning to find the entrance of the hotel / parking, but I think this is a general issue as GPS doesn't really work in Florence. This was the first hotel we stayed in in Florence --- 30 years ago. It is a small B&B in a stunning location looking down on the Ponte Vechio w/in walking distance of all the A-list florentine sites. We were a little concerned that it might have become worn and tattered, but we were delighted that the charm was still there. Of course the cream on the cake is the amazing roof garden. The views are stunning, and the staff will bring you cocktails simply by asking - any time.

We had a fab stay at Hotel Hermitage - a perfect base to explore Florence, right by the Ponte Vecchio. The bedroom was a good size with plenty of storage space and a comfortable bed (two singles pushed together to make a double). This was my 3rd stay at this hotel and I still love the staff, location, and rooms. Jolanta has greeted myself and each nephew with great warmth. Great Hotel, Great Location, stayed one night ... yes I would stay here again mainly due to the location. We spent Friday and Saturday nights here on a recent trip. The room was a little larger than others we stayed at, the shower was great and we didn't have any trouble with water temp that others have mentioned. I recently stayed at this hotel with my mother, wanting something with central location so she could have easy walking - though most things in the main area of Florence are close. This hotel is right beside the bridge, and only a few steps more from the Uffizi.
