In Florence for a three-day workshop and then with a day to sight-see, location was all-important, and this hotel certainly satisfied this criterion; a 5 minute walk to the Duomo, and most of Florence's other main attractions (the Academia, the Uffizi, the main squares and the main train station) are within 10 minutes walk. The hotel serves an excellent breakfast, and the bar does a very nice dinner too if you don't want to go out. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is... Read more

Our stay was great. Awesome location. Front desk not so friendly upon arrival but got better as week continued. Night bartender one of the most helpful and nice people we met. Room always clean but no lotion or hair conditioner offered. Kleenex in tiny box folded. Happy hour great in the evenings before late dinner. Many restaurants right out door to the right and take a left at the first alley. Train station short walk. This hotel in the middle of designer stores for shopping. Outstanding stay!

We spent 3 nights at the hotel. The room was spacious, very clean with modern bathroom. Room # 524 looked out on Church across the street. Had a great happy hour with lots of choices for free appetizers. Drink were on the high side of reasonable. !! euros for a vodka soda. But good pours. Bar tender was great and very helpful. Breakfast included a nice combination of hot and cold items. Only negative was we had some laundry done and it was very expensive compared to another same quality hotels.

The Hotel is in a great location easy to walk to anywhere in central Florence. The room was lovely and the Happy hour was good with a selection of bites to eat, the barman was fantastic. Breakfast is good & the staff were helpful when asked. We had a great time and all of the above contributed to that. My only problem with the hotel was the shower is such that water gets onto the floor each time it is used so the floor was always wet. A bit of a design flaw but everything else was great.

Hotel is in a great location and staff is friendly to Americans. Hotel room (twin) was very clean and standard size. Stayed for 4 nights. Only a few blocks away from the heart of all the places you want to tour. Also a few blocks from the train for day trips like Pisa.

We loved this hotel. The location was great for sightseeing, just round the corner from Duomo. The staff were really helpful - especially the guy working at the bar each evening. He helped us with restaurant recommendations and suggested wines for us to try etc. There is a happy hour each evening with a small buffet also which is great.

Nice hotel with modern amenities. Breakfast buffet was large with a variety of foods for everyone. Hotel staff very polite and helpful. Street noise did filter up into room a little, but overall was not too bad. Bedding was on the more hard side. Hotel bartender very nice and friendly and ensured all patrons were cared for.

Easy walk from the train or bus station. No need for a taxi. Great location in the centre of the city to explore. Breakfast (included) is amazing in a well lit and cheerful breakfast room. Very clean and up-scale rooms, but you are paying for that great service and amenities. Excellent wifi service. Electric roller blinds on the window provide total darkness for sleeping and reduce the street noise (that was minimal anyway). We would definitely stay here again.

Florence is an elegant city and this hotel reflects that. Lovely decorations in public areas and rooms. After check in my husband and I were escorted to a huge 2 story suite with large stained glass windows. I felt like a princess. This hotel is in a swanky area with top designer shops and jewelers. Ponte Vecchio bridge is nearby with piazzas and restaurants everywhere. Breakfast offers a large selection, but it seems Italians do not understand American coffee. If you want to stay right by the duomo, then this is the place- but beware of the rock hard beds. Seriously, like sleeping on a box spring. No cushion at all. We were shocked and called up to change rooms for a softer bed but were told that all the beds are hard. Like they pride themselves on it. Horrible. Otherwise the room was large, large bathroom, and good service. Very nice breakfast with many many choices- better than most hotels I've been to throughout Europe that include breakfast.

This is a lovely hotel, well situated in Florence. We were traveling with our 21 year old daughter and had been staying in "triple" rooms around Italy. Most of which were very small. They helped us resolving online voucher issue for Academy Gallery by contacting the ticket issuing travel group and had the final voucher printed out at the hotel's reception counter. It was a life saver since the tickets are hard to get.

So close to every museum and gallery. We walked everywhere within ten minutes, most within two minutes! Large entrance and reception area, although not as the publicity photographs imply. Helpful concierge and efficient staff. Delightful lounge area if you have time to take advantage of it. Adequate room, city centre location means no views but you can't have everything. We would have liked a bath but had only a very small shower room. Probably the best breakfast we have ever had in a hotel. Del... Read more

Upgraded to larger suite with king bed, lounge area and 2 baths. Every thing clean and new. Big fluffy towels so new left fuzz everywhere. No facial tissue, face towels or hair conditioner so I'm glad I packed my own. Breakfast had a great variety but omelets, fresh juice and fried eggs extra charge. In Rome at Hotel Barocco we were spoiled as these were all included. Plus in Rome hotel wifi great throughout this hotel wifi not strong anywhere, not even in lobby. Overall hotel very very nice and... Read more

An elegant smaller superior hotel in a superlative location within easy walking distance of all main attractions in the old part of Florence. The staff in the main all English speaking couldn't do enough to assist and advised. Double room was all what you expect it to be very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Don't expect superb views of the city because like many buildings in Florence it is built in a terrace and the rear of the property backs onto a narrow road with buildings immediately o... Read more

I was a guest in this lovely hotel for three nights in October. The single room was very well appointed, although no coffee / tea pot, and extremely small. I was very disappointed by management's refusal to turn the air conditioning on in my room (the thermostat was inoperable). Despite gently asking our request was declined i was covered in bug bites for days owing to the open window. The breakfast is terrific, the bar is lively and the location extraordinary.

Stayed at Hotel de La Ville as I was attending a conference in Florence. This is a lovely hotel and the rooms are beautifully decorated and clean. They are also quite large in comparison to many hotels in Europe. Service was excellent! The front desk personnel were always available! Hotel offers a nice buffet breakfast in the morning and happy hour appetizers in the bar. You can't beat the hotels location as it is walking distance to everything. If you dare to rent a car they have a garage... Read more

This is a traditional city centre hotel. It has a great location, just ten minutes walk from the station and an easy stroll to all the tourist sights. A good choice of restaurants nearby, particularly the area just south of San Lorenzo. I was very pleased with my room, which was a decent size and beautifully furnished. A lovely place to come back to after a busy day. Comfortable bed and I got a good sleep each night. Breakfast was better than average, though the dining room was quite small and ... Read more

Great hotel and great location. The staff was wonderful and the room was superior. We loved it so much that we are going back next may 2017 and staying in the same room we had last time. Cant wait! Breakfast had multiple choices of food and coffees. I would highly reccomend this hotel for your stay.

Stayed here for 3 nights in November 16. Part of a group of 9 friends visiting Florence for the South Africa v Italy test match (Italy won if you did not already knowū??©) Hotel de la Ville is in a stunning location. An east short walk from the station and from the hotel not more than a 10 minute walk to almost all the sights in Florence. The walk back from the stadium was at most 40 minutes, but longer if you stop to have the occasional beer. The rooms are decent size, but well appointed, neat... Read more
