After a long cruise and a journey by train with more luggage than we should have ever packed on a trip to Italy, we found ourselves at the Palazzo Castri 1874. We had just arranged to spend one of our two last nights in Italy in Florence, I should have made it for a week as I did not want to leave this hotel. This beautiful boutique Hotel had me at the moment I entered greeted by probably one the most friendly hotel staff I have encountered anywhere. The modern decor offsets the historic arch... Read more

Beautiful English hotel. Nice rooms, great firm mattress, crisp white sheets. Nice breakfast with meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereals, breads, and even a dessert table. Served afternoon tea at 4pm. Free wifi but bandwidth was slow and limited. Has a beautiful outdoor area with tables and umbrellas. There is a spa and pool are open from noon to 8pm. Must make a reservation to use the indoor bubble pool (warm not hot). There is a small pool which adjoins the indoor pool outside - same te... Read more

We took a train from Rome to Florence and were able to walk to this hotel from the train station. It was a short walk but we had a little trouble on the small sidewalks as we had one too many suitcases. The hotel is super clean and modern. We were lucky enough to get a room with a beautiful view of the park outside. The sides of the glass on the bathroom door were totally see-through, so that was kind of strange/awkward, but that totally depends on your comfort with the person you are staying in... Read more

Hotel is extremely stylish and welcoming. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially the front desk with good recommendations of restaurants and trips. Rooms are spotless and the garden is a tranquil place to relax. Breakfast very good and afternoon tea and cakes a welcome bonus. Location is very central, ten minutes walk to coach and train stations.

We stayed here for four nights, and after our trip to Tremazzano it was fantastic. The Hotel whilst boutique yet still provides a pool (limited hours) a gym and sauna plus beauty spa. The Hotel is about a five minute walk to the Duomo (we had a view of the Duomo from our room) and the main shopping district. There are a number of restaurants nearby (suggest don't go the E Toscano) and the hotel has a limited menu and bar. It was a pleasure to sit in the grounds of the Hotel (yes grass and qui... got this through hoteltonight app so we got a great deal. the location was quite easy to get around but slightly removed so not in the craziness of the Duomo area. the hotel staff was extremely nice and knowledgeable. The lobby was beautiful and there is a small little bar where we enjoyed a late night drink at very reasonable prices. Breakfast was nice and complimentary. unfortunately it poured rain almost our whole time so we didn't experience the cute little courtyard. The main issue was our ... Read more

Delightful modern boutique hotel in Florence within walking distance of all that you would want to see. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Courtyard Garden is an oasis of calm where you can relax with a drink , chill all day in the sun - (it has a small pool) if you are a bit weary from sight seeing. Ask about local restaurants they gave us some good recommendations. They whisked the car away to park for our stay (if you are driving to Florence.)

Palazzo Castri 1874 was our favorite thing about Florence, our favorite hotel on this trip and one of our favorite hotels ever. To us this was an oasis in the city of Florence: the door opens, the smell of lemons wafts, and the clean, fresh lobby and smiling employees greeted us. Our room was ultra-clean and comfortable--beautiful, too, with a high ceiling and a window overlooking the lemon trees and garden. The garden--where Pinto the cat can be found-- is gorgeous, a great place for a cocktail... Read more

This boutique hotel has a welcoming interior, the staff are helpful and professional. Our room was on the small side, but the bed was large and comfortable. The tea/coffee tray in the wardrobe is rather awkward, the space could be used for clothes storage. Our room had a lovely terrace and the garden is a paradise in the middle of Florence. The breakfast was good and I found the pool and spa very relaxing after our busy days. I would highly recommend this hotel, all the sights are within walkin... Read more

Amazing spot. High tech. Great location. Courtyard/ garden is worth staying here on its own and has a small pool with a nice spa. Only negative and it's significant, asked/told the staff for 3 hours that the AC wasn't working....someone finally came up and attempted to fix it at 1am. Sorta came on... I hope this was an isolated event because other than that this hotel would be a five star!

It's difficult to find a hotel in Florence with such a big open space, my room was on 1st floor and a direct access to a small patio behind with lemon trees. They have a cat which always sitting next to our room adorable and cute. Staff is very friendly the breakfast is good but as we stayed for 8 nights it was almost same everyday need a little more of change. Clean big rooms, a nice cozy feeling. This is my 3rd visit in Florence and its among the best hotel I stayed.

My wife and I stopped here on the first stage of our honeymoon, and it was the perfect first destination. The hotel itself is gorgeous, tastefully decorated and in a superb location. Everything was easily walkable. Equally, the gardens and spa were a calm and quiet oasis away from the city of you wanted to rest. Above all else the staff were great and couldn't do enough to help. This truly is a boutique hotel and I know we'll be back here for sure.

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at in Europe. Very clean, modern and comfortable with very friendly service. The room was very comfortable and large (by European standards), with a very comfortable bed. This hotel was excellent. Only a ten minute walk from the Duomo and far enough not to feel like it was too crowded. The hotel is beautiful and modern and clean and the service was excellent. Nadia helped me often and she was lovely. The grounds are great. A nice respite from the heat to sit at the pool and be able to relax in the shade with a nice mojito! My room was great. Big enough, comfortable and the bathroom and shower were lovely. I would not hesitate to stay there again in a heartbeat!

We stayed here for 5 days while on our honeymoon. We loved having breakfast on the patio every morning. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, pastries, meats and eggs. The room was a little small but we didn't mind since it was just the two of us. My one complaint was that the bathroom didn't offer much privacy. The door had a piece of frosted glass in the middle and there was a small portion around the edges that you could see through. Other than that, the room was very clean, the A/C w... Read more

Of the six hotels we stayed in Italy in during the recent two week vacation there, this was the most comfortable and pleasant. I visited Florence recently and stayed at Hotel Spadai and this hotel. They are both wonderful hotels but I have to say that the Palazzo Castri was my favorite. The location and smart TV were the better options of Hotel Spadai, but I preferred this hotel for everything else.
