We went to Florence from Rome via train...great way to see the countryside & European trains are amazing! The hotel is in the middle of everything - literally within a short walk to fabulous restaurants, shopping and beautiful sights to see. Our room did not have a great view, however the hotel was absolutely perfect...very modern with all expected conveniences! Breakfast was included and was very good! The rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. The hotel was quiet and be sure and v... Read more

Never slept in the hotel but organised a 20 people cocktail on the rooftop. Now I am florentine and this is definitely the most beautiful terrace I have seen in town. Guests were astounded! Plus very nice cocktails and fast and cheerful service. Don't miss it!

The hotel has a great location near the Duomo and the major Piazzas. The rooms are very comfortable and the wifi is great. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. The contacted the airline for us as one of our bags was lost for 2 days. They recommended stores where we could buy clothing. They also recommended restaurants that were very good.

We really enjoyed our two nights at this hotel as part of our ten day honeymoon to Italy. It is centrally located close to everything and is an inviting and welcoming hotel. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The people at the front desk are friendly and very helpful. The rooftop bar is a great feature. You can see a panoramic view of the whole city of Florence. There is great dining right on the street where the hotel is, but we did not get to try the restaurant.

Florence was our first stop on our honeymoon and this hotel was the perfect choice! Our room was spacious and cute, and had a direct view of the three bell towers. Make sure you have drinks on the rooftop. Great central location for wandering around Florence. Nice to have a clean, comfy room after the long flight.

I spent a few nights at the Cavour for a business meeting, and have no complaints. WiFi could have been better in the rooms, but I have yet to find a hotel with brilliant WiFi. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable and huge, breakfast was tasty and although their take on some brit breakfast staples like tomatoes (fresh, raw) and sausages (replaced by frankfurters) were slightly amusing at points, the selection was very good and the pastries were fresh and delicious. My room was very quiet and I... Read more

This hotel has a great location in florence. The front desk staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Great breakfast in the morning. Fantastic view from the roof top bar. I would have given it 5 stars but: 1. the walls of the room were thin and it sounded like the travlers next door were in the room with us. 2. The staff in the downstairs bar were rude, unreliable and appeared disinterested in serving us. Great location for seeing all that Florence has to offer.

This hotel is perfectly located in Firenze. Everything you are likely here to see is in very easy walking distance. The staff is on their game and always looking to make your stay enjoyable. Excellent choice of restaurants and nightlife very short minutes from front door. Looking for a table at a great restaurant at 9:00PM, no problem. At least a dozen choices within 3-5 minutes. Neighborhood is safe and lively. The Duomo is one block away. Upscale fashion shopping abounds. The rooftop ... Read more

This hotel is in the best spot in Firenze and close to so many great restaurants. Room was excellent and the service from all staff members were great also and always greeting you. Loved the rooftop bar and our stay was very comfortable. Only thing I could fault was the noise level and we were on level 3. At times it would be quite loud but overall I'd stay here again.

We could not believe how fantastic this hotel is. We drove to Florence and found the hotel easily. Its location could not be any better! You could walk to the duomo in 2 minutes in one direction and the uffizi gallery in 2 minutes in the other direction. The suite we had was large and beautifully decorated. To wake up to the sounds and smells of this bustling, compact city made you feel like you were a part of it all. There are any number of cafes and restaurants a short walk away. We are alread... This was our first stay at a hotel in Italy, and it was a wonderful experience. The location is superb -- in easy walking distance to all major sites. We stayed in a "junior suite" for 3 people and were delighted to find that we had two elegant and pristine rooms, one with a sofa bed and the other with a king-size bed, with a privacy door that can be closed between the rooms. Each room had a large flat-screen television. The floor-to-ceiling windows (double windows in each room) overlooked a bus... Read more

This is a lovely hotel in such an excellent location. We walked a minute away to Uffizi gallery, Piazza Duomo, and many more places. Stayed in room 301 which was large and comfortable. Staff was so helpful with the car we hired and just in general.

Via del Proconsulo is very busy and noisy. Night time is a cacophony of sirens, trucks and overnight workers. Two out of three nights were acceptable (just a bit noisy), but one very bad night of noise (5/7/2016) can take away from your experience in Firenze. Ask for an interior room.

Very nice hotel in a great location. Be sure to visit the terrace in the morning after breakfast for some great photos. In many ways the rooms are typical for European hotels, the rooms are smaller and much more expensive than what we would expect from a US Marriott or Hilton. But this is beautiful, fantastic Florence and you won't be spending much time on your room. Tip: If the coffee is cold in the morning ask the waiter for a double espresso.

What better way to experience Florence from the heart of the city. Location is perfect. At city center across from the bargello. The hotel is excellent. Comfortable rooms. Clean, upto date furnishings. Rooms are quiet., Great Staff who are helpful to your questions on seeing sights and places to eat. Relaxing on the rooftop is great way to begin or end an evening. The breakfast is great with plenty of choices to start the day. Great place for business or pleasure.

You couldn't be in a better location than this when staying in Firenze. Monuments, eateries and the cutest narrow streets possible, all literally right in your street or a short walk away... this is definitely a walking city. Room sizes are standard but not overly big. Rooftop terrace/bar is amazing, nice cosy space, good bar staff and the most spectacular views of the surrounds, particularly the Duomo, right in heart of town. A few negatives... 1. the walls were very thin and you can hear eve... Read more

We're very glad during our stay at Grand Hotel Cavour. Excellent Location, just about 3 blocks to the Duomo, in the middle of a vasty variety of restaurants , shops and points of interest. The rooms were well cleaned apart that were not new furbished. The only point was that the double one didn't have much space to open 2 luggages :-( . As we were in summer time, at the rooftop they had a Terrazzo with lounge music and drinks where you can have a wonderful experience of a Sunset in Firenz... Read more

This hotel is a great location, I mean great. You are walking distance to everything. It also has one of the best views from a hotel in the city (from the rooftop bar). Was up there every night. Although the drinks are very expensive $20 Euro for 1beer and 1 wine ($8 for beer $12 for wine) but you are paying for the view. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel, I just hit up all the little cafe's around the hotel. And its close the train station. Would definitely stay here again.
