Stayed for a business trip. Walking distance to tourist attractions (eg Duomo, Ufizzi gallery, the shopping street, the market) , palazzo dei congressi and Santa Maria Novella train station. Helpful staffs with special mention to the doorman on duty between 12-14th May 2016 who even helped to give directions to places of interest. Nice rooftop view . Reasonable breakfast and beds.

My wife and I planned extended visits to the primary sights of Florence that we had quickly passed by in previous short stays. The Grand Hotel Baglioni offered a comfortable, well appointed room with an exceptional breakfast; but of greatest importance to us was the location. It is just minutes from all major Cathedrals and restaurants. We returned our rental car to the Florence central location, and easily walked to the hotel. Upon departure, we literally walked across the street to the bus ... Read more

A lovely hotel with amazing views of the Duomo from the dining room and excellent views of Florence from the terrace. The room was large with lots of wardrobe space and raised seating/TV area. The location was excellent with all the main sites within a 20 minute walk and very close to cafes and restaurants as well as the train and bus station. Wifi actually worked! A very enjoyable comfortable stay.

We arrived and the bags were collected by the doorman as expected check-in was good and friendly and we were shown to the rooms and bags arrived. The maid was still servicing the room which was odd as we did not arrive until 5. We were not shown how the services in the room worked. The room itself was large and beautiful and clean. From that point to check out the staff did not speak to us even to say good morning etc. The reception staff were always nose deep in their computers. There was ... Read more

Stayed 5 nights, this hotel is a re-conditioned palace, everything inside is very ornate, beds not so comfortable, would recommend they replace the mattresses. Had great help at reception - although was not always highly staffed. On arrival we had to bring our bags through the rotating door - no doorman present - this was a poor start, but at reception they were extremely pleasant and helpful. We booked some day excursions and restaurant reservations at the desk. Plan to have a dinner or at leas... Read more

Beautiful old hotel - we stayed 3 nights. We could easily have walked from the train station - a matter of metres! Terrific view from restaurant on 5th floor with Florence spread out below especially the near-by Duomo. Very clean. Beautiful decoration and furniture. Excellent extensive breakfast. However we got little sleep the first two nights due to the thin walls so that we could hear others in their rooms, the corridors, restaurants and the courtyards. The 3rd night we bought earplugs a... Read more

The biggest hotel room I've ever had and very clean. Hotel breakfast included and vast. Roof deck was stunning, if only you could bring in your own bottle of wine! Right next to train station so very convenient. The hotel allowed us to leave luggage a few days in advance while we were in Venice which helped a lot. We only had one night at the end of our stay so I didn't really have any additional service or dining needs.

I wanted to meet with friends in Florence and did not have much time. So, the hotel needed to be next to the station and next to the centre. Baglioni met best these requirements. Besides the location the hotel really shows the history of its presence in Florence. Although, I booked a double room but travelling alone, the room was really tiny. I could not move the chair from the desk without lifting it over the bed. However, the stunning view in the morning during breakfast somehow compensated. B... Read more

Positives..... - Rooms were clean and generally spacious - View from the roof terrace is amazing - Booked a nice afternoon wine tasting trip to Chianti through the hotel Areas that were disappointing..... - Room was still being cleaned when we arrived (1.5 hrs after check in time!) we had to wait in the corridor for 10 mins for the cleaner to finish - Roof terrace not open in the afternoon - shuts at 2 and only opens again at 5 pm - annoying when that is the only real selling point of the ... I want to start out with all of the good things about this hotel. The linens were nice and the bedroom and bathroom was clean. If you make it to your room without falling over a vacuum or a bin of dirty linens you are lucky. These things seem to be out 24/7. Of course you are dragging your luggage after checkin as you are navigating the dreary hallways. There is no doorman or bellboy to help you. There is only a revolving door to come through which is not very large. Most people struggle to ge... Read more

My husband and I recently enjoyed dinner at the Grand Hotel Baglione's Rooftop Garden Retaurant. We had a reservation and we were seated and served very quickly. Service was good and our waiter spoke English well. We were not rushed at all as the restaurant filled but were allowed to enjoy the food and incredible views as the sun set over Florence. Probably "traditional, old, modern, central.... all in one" is the best way to describe this hotel. Maybe it needs a little bite a face lift, but it is ok for a 4**** hotel in Firenze. Their unfriendly manner is in sharp contrast to the staff at reception. The INCREDIBLE view from the roof-garden more than made up for it though!

Great hotel located in a fantastic location. Rooftop Bar and restaurant are once in a lifetime!! Breathtaking views of city and entire region with fantastic sunsets and sunrises. Outstanding breakfast buffet as well. Service was very good to make things even better. The only negative things I can mention are very poor air conditioning, no outlets close to beds and a bit expensive. However a wonderful overall experience!!

Love this hotel ??? Staff are so friendly, helpful and professional. Rooms are traditional, cosy and well equipped. The breakfast is amazing with THE best view in the city. It's location is good too, close to the Station, and in easy walking distance if all the sights, but far enough away to be quiet at night. Will return again soon.....

We had a one night stay in Firenze and as we were travelling by train wanted a hotel that offered good accommodation and close proximately to the train station. This hotel ticked all the boxes and we were not disappointed at all. The room we had was like stepping back into an old Tuscan villa which truly captured the history of this beautiful city. If you want modern then this hotel is not for you at all but I recommend you go to the roof top bar or restaurant in the evening as it really was qui... Read more

Perfect location from train station and a few blocks from all major sightseeing locations. The roof top bar provides wonderful view of city. Rooms comfortable, information desk helpful, and breakfast buffet very good. Second time to stay at this hotel and will stay there on my next trip to Florence. Do wish their front desk would have more smaller denominations of euros to exchange for larger travelers $100 euros. Small inconvenience.

We stayed four nights at the Grand Hotel Baglioni. The front area could use a little updating, and the rooms were rather spartan, but the restaurant and bar on the roof get it to five stars. The rooftop facility has both open terraces and a closed area. The included breakfast set out there is the finest I have seen. In the evening it is heaven to sit outside, have your choice of adult beverage, and listen to the excellent singers perform. And you can get a view of the dome of the Duomo to b... Read more

I've been to Florence often for the past year and stayed where there was availability. This is a lovely hotel in a great location in Florence everything is relatively close to it. The rooftop patio is wonderful to have a drink or breakfast in the morning (must make reservations for the evening). The rooms are small but it is quiet. The AC works well. Bathrooms have been recently renovated. It's an old hotel but has all the modern conveniences. There is no gym at this hotel.

Having come down from Venice, our expectations for this older hotel were high. Unfortunately we were greatly let down. The location is excellent, across the street from Santa Maria Novella Basilica and train stationZ There were undertones of the Grand Budapest Hotel that I could not shake throughout our stay. The hotel itself harks back to another era, where the corridors act as historical records of Firenze and were actually quite interesting. The restaurant had an excellent breakfast where y... We stayed one night on our last evening in Florence and while the hotel is expensive, the splurge was worth it. Initially we were given a smoking room which is totally unacceptable to us, no problems getting another room immediately. The buffet breakfast is served on the rooftop ...delicious. We spent the evening in peace and quiet on the roof deck with the best views of the Duomo and a 360 degree view of the city. Perfect for our last night.

We've spend a few days during Pasqua holidays in Florence. The hotel interior is very beautiful, staff on the reception are all friendly and speak different languages. But the price was way to high! Also the price to park the car - 33? for one day! Another disappointment was a breakfast, every day we had to wait about 20-30 minutes to get a table to eat, we tried to come earlier and later but it was always the same. Didn't stay here, but the staff at the hotel we were staying at recommended it for a rooftop for drinks. Absolutely spectacular view, I have no doubt it is the best in Florence. In fact when we were on the Duomo terrace we could clearly see the rooftop at the Baglioni. The wife raved about it. I don't know much about the hotel though, but the food looked good and the view was great on the terrace.
