The hotel's location is excellent and within walking distance from the train station and the main sites. The rooms have recently been renovated and are clean. The bathrooms are rather small and the breakfast is limited in choice. Overall, the hotel provides great value for money and I highly recommend it.

In between the Duomo and the Palazzo Vecchio, this classical hotel has an ideal location. You can walk to all major highlights in the city, as well as the shopping area and all the good restaurants and pubs. The staff is friendly but discrete, breakfast is not overwhelming but the choice is more than sufficient and the rooms are spacious.

Loved this hotel. The location is perfect - it's two blocks from the Duomo in one direction, and two blocks from Palazzo Vecchio in another. It doesn't get any easier to be able to access the primary attractions in Florence on foot. The hotel itself was a true gem. The staff were friendly and very very helpful. The room was really nicely appointed, a generous size (for European standards, slightly smaller by American but definitely still gives you a great sense of space), very clean and bright.... Read more

We have stayed at the Hotel Calzaiuoli on two separate trips. I agree with other reviewers, the hotel location is ideal, located in between the Florence Duomo, and the Piazza della Signoria and Pallazzo Vecchio. There is a big difference in rooms depending on whether you book a ‚??deluxe‚?? vs. standard. We‚??ve stayed in a standard room, which are fine as long as you don‚??t mind the lack of view. The last trip we booked a deluxe room with a Duomo view and were blown away. Two large pictur... Read more

Hotel location is fantastic. Rooms are great and clean. Bed and pillows are extremely hard. Expect neck pain and bad head aches from the pillow. Suggest that u buy a pillow from Coin which is right next door. Other then that everything is great.

FANTASTIC HOTEL!!! I would recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone. My family - my parents, my older brother and his fiancé, and myself - were recommended this wonderful hotel by our tour guide for the week, Stefano (Tuscan Sunshine Tours), who we would also recommend if you'd like an all inclusive and easy stay in Florence/Tuscany. We are so glad that he recommended Hotel Calzaiouli as it made our vacation of 9 days absolutely top notch. The location at the city center alone is enough to m... Read more

Located on the via Calzaiuoli it is just a 2 min walk to Duomo and piazza Signoria. It was a second time we stayed here, as I fell in love after the first stay in here in August 2014. Rooms are clean and well furnished, the staff is very helpful.

Nice big, airy room. Excellent location within walking distance to everything. Friendly staff willing to accommodate an early check-in (ideal with a baby needing to take a nap). Good value for money. Highly recommend it. Two things to note - breakfast offering is a bit limited and there was some music from the outside bars that could be heard, but really did not bother us.

The hotel is suberb! We loved our room: it was big and beautiful. We stayed only one night. I hope to stay here again in my next visit. It is located in the center and everything you want to see is a walking distance. The breakfast was very good too.

The staff as soon as we walked were very accommodating to the numerous questions we had about local restaurants and museums. Rooms were really nice. high ceilings gave the room a bigger appearance. However, the wifi might be good in one room and non existent in another.

Have stayed here twice this year, superb location, nice traditional rooms and a good buffet breakfast. Expensive compared to others, but you pay for the location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free wifi works well, not quickest in the world but OK. Recommended, especially if good deal on offer.

Great staff all cheerful and polite and the hotel is in a great location. The room was a good size with a comfy bed with nice linen, the bathroom was spacious with nice towels and toiletries. the place was always clean, the wifi worked well after a small halt which was fixed immediately and the breakfast was comprehensive. Special mention to Mattie in the brekkie room, we wish you well and thank you for your kindness. Would love to return one day.

Great weather, gorgeous sites and a superb super-centrally located hotel made this a lovely trip. The staff are cheerful, eager to serve and knowledgeable. The inclusive breakfast ample and fresh catering to diverse tastes and (culinary) orientations. The twin room we were in was spacious, clean, comfortable. Wifi throughout the hotel was strong. Best thing was (unlike the Pisa hotel we were in) the air conditioning- fully controllable. I'd rate this excellent and superb value.

Hotel is ideally located in the heart of Florence. Walking distance to the bridge, Duomo. Staff was great, helped out tremendously when taxis were needed. Rooms are nice and spacious, ours had a great corner view of the streets below Only complain was the shower door, water spilled everywhere each time.

This hotel could not be in a more perfect location. It is right in the middle of the shopping district and two minutes from museums, the cathedral, and great restaurants. The best part is the ease of parking. You just drive to the parking lot the hotel recommends near the train station and they will drive you directly to the hotel in downtown Florence. Wonderful room and excellent service.

This hotel is in a great location: shopping, museums, train station - everything seemed close. Because we were a party of three, they gave us a larger room so that my son could sleep on the sofa they made into a bed. It was so nice to be able to have that extra room. The bathroom was also quite spacious and had a tub in addition to the shower. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Traditional and cozy little hotel situated in the heart of Florence. Waking distance to Duomo, stores, Ufizi and all the main tourist attractions. Make sure to get a room situated opposite of Calzaiouli street otherwise it can get very noisy! Decent breakfast and staff are rigidly Italian.

We stayed here after reading good reviews and because of the location however I was very disappointed! The only positive was the fact that the hotel is situated within 2 mins walking between the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio . The wifi was hopeless, barely connected long enough to use. The breakfast room was very cramped with limited choices for food items which took quite a while to be restocked. The shower drain was very slow on emptying hence you were standing in a puddle of water all the time. ... Read more

I had a few days to kill in Italy so took some advice from a friend who suggested that I get a taste of Florence. As part of that he suggested that I stay at this hotel as he would stay here regularly when he was lecturing. The way that it was sold to me was firstly that the hotel itself was really nice. The rooms were great, with great service he was dead on the money. When I arrived the staff, who were fluent in English were so helpful. A member of staff showed me to my room and we went... Reviewers are correct when they say you literally step out the door into a bustling street of trucks, cars and people ( always interesting to watch how people and moving vehicles interact on this skinny Florence streets). I have been staying in this hotel for years. It is a little old and a little worn physically, but in all honesty, it is the best place for a stay in Florence. You get a free lovely breakfast where the wait staff cares for you, you have a concierge who could not be more helpful than he is, and you have people who are kind and caring all along the way. This hotel is well situated right in the heart of Florence. It is ideal for a short stay to explore Florence. It is about 15 minutes from the train station. We stayed as part of a train trip around Switzerland and Italy. The staff were very helpful. The rooms are small, normal for a city centre hotel. They are nicely decorated in Italian style. Breakfast was good. It can be noisy at the front of the hotel as it is on one of the main roads in Florence.

We requested a room with a view and we were rewarded with a room on the top/4th floor with a view of the Duomo/Siena Cathedral. I'll list the pros and cons Pros: Location, free breakfast, good complimentary bathroom necessities, staff is functional (meaning it feels like a business, not a home) Cons: Housekeeping is unpredictable (only the last day of our 4 day stay was great with housekeeping). However, once we came in we found the top of our closet dusty. We were given a towel with a palm size coffee-colored stain on it. There was hair hanging in the shower. Loved the location of this hotel! Everything was within walking distance. It was clean, and the staff were exceptionally helpful with recommendations for tours in the city, and even found us an iron (which don't come with most rooms as we found out during our tour of Italy). Breakfast was simple, but enough to get the day started. I'd stay here again for sure!
