We only had a few days in Florence to see the sights and wanted something very close to the city center - found this hotel and I have enjoyed it - the bathrooms are small but the bed was comfortable and it was clean - staff was pleasant and helpful - we were very close to many wonderful restaurants - would recommend this place

If you want to stay at a hotel close to all the main sights in Florence, then this is the one! I had an amazing 3 night stay here with my partner. This hotel is a great value for money and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to pay too much on accommodation (and more on fancy Italian souvenirs!) There is also a private gym/spa you can book out for yourself downstairs and is very lovely. The hotel is a five minute walk from the Duomo and the shops and is very easy to find! The staff... We are two ladies in our seventies who stayed at Borghese Palace Hotel for 4 nights. The staff were wonderful, couldn't do enough for us from taking our bags to our room when we arrived to booking a taxi for us when we left. The hotel was extremely clean and very attractive, there was a small spa in the basement with sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and small gym all included in the price of our room. The room wasn't large but adequate with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and a fridge. The onl... Read more

The Bhorghese Palace is in an ideal location in the old city of Florence for easy access to the main visitor attractions like the Duomo - 5 minute walk, the Uffizi gallery- 10 minutes, Santa Croce- 7-8 minutes. The Ponte Vecchia, Academia Gallery, Santa Maria Novella are a little farther away but again in easy walking distance. We had a great welcome from the reception staff, who spoke very good English Our room was on the 2nd Floor and accessed via a lift, or a winding staircase if you feel a... Read more

This is a great hotel being very central near to the Uffizi, Academia and Duomo. However, the hotel backs onto a street which contains a disco. every night between 3 and 5am you are woken by shouting, cars and police sirens... When we checked in a guest warned us but the first night we slept through, probably just too tired but for the next 3 nights it was bad! The hotel air con did not work properly so it became hotter through the night although outside it was only 24 high and 18 low. We inform... Read more

Location is perfect for sightseeing, great shopping and superb food!! Yes a bit of noise on a Saturday night but your in the heart of Florence - where isn't noisy on a Saturday night Breakfast was good, scrambled eggs and bacon on toast was good enough for me but you can have continental breakfast things too Didn't use the sauna and jacuzzi as we were to busy and it was nice and sunny outside The decor of the hotel is nice with different artwork everywhere The staff were very helpful and f... Staff are very friendly and helpful, location is perfect as you can walk to all the popular sites, breakfast if fine, beds are comfortable, rooms are clean .... However, if you go on the weekend be prepared to be kept awake all night as there is a disco/club nearby where the students party ALL night ...to clarify it was quiet at 6 a.m. Fights, screaming, yelling non stop. The staff do what they can to curtail this but it is something that would seem to be an uphill battle.

Booked this small artsy hotel as part of a package based on its central location and ease of access to major sights and was very pleased with my stay. Single room was small but clean and perfect for my needs. Wifi was very slow. Although noisy at night, typical for Florence and beyond something the hotel can control. Staff were absolutely wonderful and gracious hosts that provided personalized service. Manager, Tommasso went out of his way to assist me when I experienced a problem with checking... Read more

The hotel itself is a very interesting building as it is a wing of an old "neo-classical palazzo". It also happens to be exceptionally well located and within easy walking distance of most of the major attractions and is run by very friendly and helpful staff. That said my room was extremely small, even for European single standards. Also, while they say they have AC, it is very weak. According to thermostat in my room, it never got below 27C and mostly stayed at 28C going as high as 29C. Thi... Read more

Our first surprise was how dark the hotel and rooms are. We expected to warm colours of Tuscany but instead found the rooms are done in a dark grey. It made it feel like being in a small, enclosed space. The a/c wasn't great so we asked for another room. We were shown a couple options and we picked on that had a bathroom that was not grey but rather a warm orange/red. It helped to perk things up a bit. With that aside, the room was very clean, well maintained and hotel was well located. ... Read more

The location of this boutique artsy hotel is perfect for shopping, dining, sightseeing and suited us just fine. The interior is a little dark but in the excessive heat it was quite welcome. They have a nice little workout area and spa downstairs and what seemed to be a very hip bar, although with all the choices we didn't even try it. The room was small and the bathroom was very small by US standards but this was Italy. To people used to having washcloths provided - apparently that's not don... Read more

This hotel is in a really great location for visiting Florence however I would advise getting a taxi from the train station when you have luggage. We usually stay at 'chain' hotels like Westin and Marriott, but we found this hotel had a much better rate for 3 people sharing 1 room. The room had a giant king bed and a surprisingly comfortable 'chaise' bed for the 3rd person. I slept on it and couldn't believe how comfortable it was since it looked sorta small at first... it was good though! The location was top notch. My wife and I stayed at the Borghese for 8 nights and had a very enjoyable time in this ideally placed hotel. The staff were uniformly pleasant, always welcoming and helpful (Sabrina, in charge of breakfast, was expecially attentive) and we would recommend it to anyone who wants a base for exploring all that Florence has to offer. We would happily stay there again.

Our 4 night holiday to Florence was immeasurably helped by this artistically themed hotel's close location to nearly every place we wished to go. Service was very, very friendly. Our room was very, very spacious. Decor throughout the hotel was a dark, baroque theme. We would have given 5 stars were it not for the fact that the bar wasn't open (but with the number of bars nearby this wasn't a big downer) and for the lift being out of action for over 24 hours. We'd come here again, though!

This is a great location and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel is lovely but has one serious drawback. My room was at the back of the hotel facing via Dell' Agnolo. There is an after-hours bar/pub that's not related to the hotel, that spills onto the street between 11 pm and 6 am, at least on the Friday and Saturday nights I was there. Hotel staff can't do anything about this but the noise comes into the room. Staff tell the patrons to move away from the hotel bar entrance but... Read more

Friendly, helpful staff, clean an tidy rooms (The one we had was small, but very well equipped and ideal for the three nights we stayed) Breakfast was really good, great variety and superb coffee as you'd expect in Italy! This hotel is in a very good location and the staff are pleasant. That's all I can say on a positive note. It's dark, uninviting and lacks atmosphere in the public areas. The bedrooms are trying to be artistic and different but it doesn't work - style over substance I would say, it all looks a bit tacky. Breakfast is basic. The lift was broken for the duration of our stay and we were locked out in the evening as nobody had explained there was a "curfew".

Firstly 4 weeks to fix a lift is unacceptable. Having out go out a back door into another apartment block, use their lift and then through a back door is a sign of very poor management. I fell sorry for the staff who tried to be helpful and pass it off. Let me tell you about these strange hard plastic chirrs which were designed to look like medieval royal chairs in the so called bar. Don't sit on them unless you want back problems. A group of us stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accomodating. Great location, but falling short on many details. Decorated by a designer with high ambitions and low budget, e.g. plastic lounge chairs in the lobby. Breakfast was ok but not great, too. Nothing super awful, we had a great time overall and might even come back to this hotel if nothing else is available. Very friendly staff, which makes up for most of the disappointing details. As said in the headline: Good enough if you come with realistic expectations.
