First time in Florence and couldn't have asked for a better hotel. Literally 5 minutes from Santa Maria Novella Station. If you walk down the main high street and see the Duomo you've walked too far. Inside is truly where the Italian journey starts with the quirky furnishings. The lady at the reception with the glasses and curly brown hair spoke impeccable English and was so helpful helping us to book our return train/coach back to Pisa where we flew in from. Breakfast was served in a huge hall ... Read more

Great location, major attractions were within 10 - 15 min. walk! Although my room was beside the elevators- night a bit noisy- found it to be comfortable. Desk was serviced by highly competent staff with large amounts of advice and information. The breakfast offered, had a large variety of items from cold cuts and cheese to scrambled eggs and bacon along with good service.

Just for a layover. Room service charging policy is quite inconvenient and discomforting. Toilet best located below instead of having it placed on the mezzanine. Location is very convenient. For south Asian visitors: southasian/Italian fusion food joint close by.

Reviews for this hotel are mixed, so I thought I would add my opinion. I had thought I had booked a deluxe but apparently I had booked a superior (fault with Booking.com not hotel). Room was ok, street view, comfy bed, bathroom fine, tv rather small. I liked the fresco on the wall. No kettle etc but I expect that in Europe. The decor in the hotel, paintings, statues etc really are impressive although carpets a little worn in places. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was just ok - sliced bread select... Read more

Very please with this hotel, we where able to check in early, which was very nice. We had what we called "the Alice in Wonderland Room" room 150, a little weird getting in, but we very much enjoyed this room that was on the back side and quiet. The breakfast, was good and left us satisfied and full for a day of sightseeing.

This hotel was magnificent. The staff very friendly and helpful nothing to much trouble for them. Always smiling. Hotel very close to everything. Breakfast was lovely. The dining room needs to be seen to be believed. I felt like i had stepped back in time the architecture and paintings were beautiful. The rooms very clean and roomy. Would definitely recommend to stay here

We had a ‚??classic‚?? hotel room for 3 nights which included breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, probably not because of the hotel but because we fell hard for Florence. We walked everywhere in the city and this hotel had a great location, and a rooftop bar! Italy had a heatwave when we were there so the hotel strong A/C was a welcomed relief! The room is a good size, the king-sized bed was comfortable and the bathroom was up-to-par. There were no views from our hotel room wh... Read more

Very clean hotel room and bathroom. In the heart of Florence. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Roberta was very helpful and patient setting my wife and I on tours. The breakfast was amazing. Very fresh food and very good. I believe the hotel was originally 2 palaces built in the 1600s . Elegant and well looked after. Only downside was our room was a little warm for our liking and no matter how low we turned the temperature on the thermostat the room didn't seem to get any co... Read more

A gem of a hotel. Perfect location everything within easy walking distance, 3-4 minutes from the train/bus station, 6 minutes from the Duomo and Piazza della Repubblica and about 8 min from the Piazza della Signoria and Vecchio. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout, lovely old fashioned Italian feel to it, the breakfast room is unbelievable and has an excellent choice with friendly and helpful reception staff. The rooftop bar is something else....stunning view of the Duomo and Vecchio but ... Read more

This was such a nice surprise to arrive at the hotel to see a beautiful lobby. A warm welcome from the receptionist who gave me a very nice room with a balcony and a spectacular view over the rooftops of Florence. This is a family owned hotel and you can tell straight away when the first member of staff I met told me that he had worked at the hotel as a waiter for 15 years. That says a lot about the hotel and its owners. I found this hotel on last minute.com had a very good rate including flight... Read more

My husband and I actually stayed at Boscolo Astoria Firenze in June 2014. Roberta at the front desk made our entire stay amazing!! I hope she is still there to make others who stay there as happy as she made us. She was extremely knowledgeable and eager to advise us where to eat, what to do and how or when to do it. Everyone in the hotel was very nice, the breakfast was very good and the location perfect!! This was a perfect location to do day trips to Lucca, Siena, cinque terra, and other Tusca... Read more

Staying here provides a lovely respite from the hustle and bustle of Florence. The 5th floor room is lovely with a terrace and a breathtaking view of the Duomo. We had requested and were given a large room on the top floor. However, be aware that work is in process and will not be completed till end of summer. Scaffolding was draped around our breathtaking corner room, but with workers's climbing about, it was unnerving. Thus we were switched to what is actually a more preferable room, which al... We booked this hotel due to its proximity to the main station. What a serendipitous find! Cannot fault any aspect of it. Absolutely stunning breakfast room. Roof terrace with fab views. Large rooms with extra large bed. The service was second to none. All the reception staff were so helpful and could not do enough. We were able to book tours through them as well as our train tickets to our next destination. Will definitely be recommending it to family and friends.

Decor is very nice throughout the hotel and breakfast room. Close to train station and within minutes walk to Duomo and many restaurants. Staff was nice and accommodating. Rooftop bar had great views although we got charged 2 different prices for the same bottle of wine on 2 different nights (25 and 20 Euros). Some drainage problems with shower and/or sink in the rooms and the AC did not work in one of our rooms. The night and early morning outside noise could be annoying at times for sleep... Read more

What a gem of a hotel! We got a discounted rate through TravelZoo because they're doing construction on the hotel, but our stay was worth the full rate. Wonderful helpful staff, clean rooms, huge breakfast spread (eggs, fruit, pastries, yogurt, etc.), and a rooftop bar with stunning views of the whole city. Truly just steps from the Duomo, and very convenient to the train station.

The room with views are stunning and large, the view onto the duomo is absolutely gorgeous. We had the exact room that is showing in the sample photo of the hotel. The staff is friendly, and the hotel and rooms are of superior cleanliness. The decor is exquisite and charming. We did not try the breakfast, so I am unable to comment on the food quality but it appears the restaurant is in a lovely courtyard and the menu is quite moderately priced. The only reason i did not give it 5 stars is becaus... Read more

This was our first time staying at Hotel Boscolo Astoria. We were a family of 5. The front desk reception was perfectly lovely, very helpful and friendly. We loved Sabrina. We stayed there for 6 days. Our rooms were lovely, but not cool enough for any of us.The hotel has several sitting areas,A fabulous breakfast, in the most beautiful dining room, with fresco's and art.
