This hotel really does go above and beyond to deliver quality service. What a treat to find a complimentary mini-bar in the room, with cold drinks and kit-kats! The pre-dinner nibbles and post-dinner vin santo with biscuits are an unusual 'extra' and provide a really nice way to relax in comfortable surroundings. For quite a formal hotel, the atmosphere is both efficient and friendly. We would have loved to stay longer.

This is a fabulous hotel. The service is excellent. The breakfast is great. In addition, there is lovely happy hour every evening as well as homemade cookies and liqueur available in the lounge later in the evening. We stayed 3 nights and would love to stay again.

We stayed here just one night at the end of a cycling tour in Umbria. At first I was a bit disappointed that the hotel is (just)outside the old town, but this in fact is not a detriment. Great staff, lovely room and without doubt the best breakfast I have ever had at any hotel.

The perfect hotel for a visit to Cortona and Tuscany. The location is walking distance to town and fine dining and shopping. They even have a lot to park your car, and that is very unusual for this area. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful. They did our laundry for free!!! After being in the road for 3 weeks when we arrived there this was very welcome and much needed. They have cookies and Vin Santo in the lobby each evening. Breakfast is served on nice China. I recently took a group of 9 ladies to Italy and the Villa Marsili, Cortona was our first stop for 6 nights. A bit of a mistake! The Villa was so amazing and spoiled us so much it made the rest of the trip look average. This hotel far exceeded all my expectations. Every person in our group loved the Villa. From the impeccable, friendly and professional staff to the beautifully appointed rooms to the most delicious buffet breakfast I have ever encountered. I am glutent intolerant and another memb... I stayed at Villa Marsili for a week as part of a painting group from Australia. I cannot not fault the location, the attentive staff, the food, the beautiful rooms and the overall ambience. The buffet breakfast was the best I have experienced in Italy or anywhere else for that matter. If you want to spoil yourself with a Tuscan Villa experience this is the perfect place. Cortona is a lovely town, everything is in walking distance from the Villa. Thank you!

Stayed for 2 nights in May. We had lovely room with wonderful view and were well looked after. Even when we arrived in late at 3am one evening staff were very accommodating. Lovely breakfast played out every morning and our transfers were highly efficient. Garden beautiful with lovely smelling roses and an easy walk up to the town. I would definitely stay here again. Very quiet place to stay and we slept incredibly well. Lovely touch was the nibbles put out in the early evening with drinks.

Great hotel with excellent customer service. A nice treat in the lobby of pastries and cheeses. Just a short walk up the hill to the Cortona city center. Parking is tricky. Pull quickly into the tiny courtyard and the valet will park your car for you. Breakfast is fabulous. Fresh Italian. Love this place. Stayed 3 days.

Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, unbelievable -- and different -- breakfasts, ample size rooms and nice baths, excellent location making it easy walking distance into Cortona and very driveable to other Tuscan and Umbrian towns, happy hour every day, evening snacks, quaint surroundings and grounds. I spent 5 wonderful nights in this outstanding boutique hotel. The room was nice and clean with tub, shower (postage stamp size), and bidet. There is a small refrigerator - water and soda in the frig are free. An antique style desk and free internet rounded out the room. There are several sizes and styles of rooms, so it is best to check them out before you reserve. The excellent and friendly service is what really makes the Villa Marsili stand out. Well - almost in paradise . The 10 minute uphill slog to get into Cortona town is not for the faint hearted. However, it is worthwhile as long as you are physically able, because the town has a great deal to offer. The hotel itself is beautiful, a serene base for traveling around Tuscany. We stayed there for six nights at the end of April, when it was still quite chilly. We were given a small radiator to use in the room and bathroom - which did the job. The buffet breakfasts were good and unusua... Read more

This is an extraordinarily lovely hotel: the room was amazing (we were upgraded to a huge suite); the staff is amazing; the location is better than perfect. Slightly odd breakfasts with stone cold fried eggs to help yourself to, but if you avoid those and stick to a continental breakfast, it's quite nice.
